Steam!  Using a steam iron is one way.  I found  a taylor's steamer at a yard sale.  Using steam, I can remove old discolored film from an entire car in just 15-20 minutes.  Simply steam a corner until it comes loose and then peal it back as you apply steam th the edge. Wipe the remaining adhesive off of the glass and you are done.
