We just purchased a 2006 Hyundai Sonata and when we start the engine after it has sat for awhile, we get a 4-5 second clicking sound. We took it into Hyundai but they say this is normal for Sonatas. This motor does not have a rubber timing belt but a timing chain. Does anyone here own a Sonata or even know anyone that does that is going through this same thing? I just don't understand why this does this. The Tech told me when I took it in that an oil change would make it a little more quiet but that seems to be BS.
