To Hybrid or Not to Hybrid - Are there alternatives

Alright, a community of 'motor heads' that I can hit up on this question. Is there a good way to decide if a Hybrid si right for you?

I would love to improve my gas milage, and going 'green' sounds like a good idea to me, but what do others think?

    Any recommendations?

If you live in the midwest you could always get a flexfuel car (can run on E85- gas with 85% ethanol) as they have ethanol stations popping up all over the map in that area. That probably wouldn't do as much for your gas mileage as a hybrid would though. The Prius seems to be the hybrid of choice right now. I see more and more everyday. Or you might want to wait around for the Cheverolet Volt:
