We can hardly wait for the base model Nissan 370Z to hit showrooms, but even before it does, Nissan dealers have already accidentally let details loose on two performance packages available straight from their dealerships. Our assumption would be these Nismo S-Tune kits should retain the factory warranty while upgrading the looks (supposedly) and performance. Details follow the jump. galleryPost('370znismostune', 3, 'Nismo S-Tune 370Z'); The Nismo S-Tune Aero Package focuses on aerodynamic and aesthetic mods, eliminating lift, increasing downforce and minimizing drag. It includes: - Nose Extension - Front Lip Spoiler - Side Skirts - Rear Spoiler - Rear diffuser - Nismo Floor Mats (score!) The Nismo S-Tune Performance Package is the one we’re interested in, bringing simple, effective modifications that should make the most of the 370Z’s performance: - Stainless Steel Performance Exhaust - 19” Forged Aluminum Nismo LMZ5 Wheels - Nismo S-Tune Springs and Dampers - Nismo S-Tune...

Remember when we went to war in Iraq because of the threat of weapons of mass destruction and used Kuwait as a staging area? Apparently, this was all just an effort by Kuwait to disguise this truly dangerous and frightening fifth-generation Nissan Maxima. With a 7-series/3-series hybrid nose, scissor doors and Supra wing this Maxima is somehow the worst of all worlds. It's so ugly we don't even think it could find a home at SEMA. Though we've seen many of these mods before, there is something especially hideous about seeing them all together. The collapsing hood, like the petals of a Venus Flytrap, is setup to trap unsuspecting onlookers. Oh, and it's for sale. Happy bidding. galleryPost('bmwmaxmia', 9, 'I Kind Of Felt Sorry For The Horse'); [ Flickr via Carscoop ]

The new Nissan GT-R is just too hard to modify for performance, what with the tricky, unhackable computer system and the already Porsche-confounding performance. That's why Japanese tuners Branew brought their Branew GT-R to SEMA with only appearance upgrades. The car gets a revised front clip, side skirts, massive 23 inch wheels, a triple-tipped exhaust outlet, functional spoiler and rear splitter mounted on a very C5 Corvette-inspired tail end. The Branew GT-R will probably suffer from the classic tuner problem of being slower with all the extra pretty stuff on it — a characteristic most tuner car enthusiasts are able to ignore. galleryPost('branewgtr', 6, 'The Brand New Branew Nissan GT-R'); galleryPost('branewgtrpress', 6, 'Branew GT-R Press Shots');

Politicians and celebrities routinely get into trouble for referring to a certain stereotype about Irish individuals and inebriation; may this Nissan/Datsun 260Z 2+2 from the Emerald Isle start a new stereotype about Irishmen and tastefully modified automobiles. What began as tinkering with a navy blue Z ended up with a gray beast that captures the essential design elements of the Z fused with an aggressive appearance package. Featured over at the ZClub forum, Jay28's Z makes us want to start trolling Craigslist for one of our own. This matte gold Nissan GT-R was spotted in Dubai, where it was possibly turning its custom-painted nose up at the relatively gaudy all-chrome McLaren SLR . This could be a sign that the matte black trend , as exemplified by the matte black F430 and matte black Veyron , is being replaced by a new matte color. If less is more, and matte black is less, matte gold is slightly more than less. galleryPost('mattgtrgold', 3, 'Matte Gold Is The New Matte Black'); [Head Over To Global Motors For More Photos]

We had to avert our eyes when posting this, as this Nissan Skyline is so incredibly beautiful we worried its majesty would ruin our opinions of all lesser cars to follow. Perfection comes in the form of extreeeeeme stickers, three-abreast hood scoops, a non-functional roof scoop, at least two sets of driving lights, a bookshelf triple-high spoiler , and not one, not two, but three sharkfin antennas. This machine quite obviously is capable of extreme performance and should absolutely be taken seriously. By our decal calculations, it's easily capable of pulling dyno runs in excess of 1500 HP and hitting top speeds around 300 MPH. This makes the green GT-R look like diced liver. galleryPost('amazingskyline', 3, 'A Skyline With Amazing, Uh, Horribleness?'); [ MotorAddicts ]

Uh-oh, more folks messing with Godzilla . At first we liked the way the dry carbon fiber hood and trunk on this Nissan GT-R looked compared to the more popular glossy stuff. But the more we stare at it, the more we think it looks kinda cheap. We're reminded of guys driving around in Honda Civic coupes with carbon fiber hoods that were once glossy but have since faded in the sun. That's not good considering these parts from Seibon are so new they're not even out yet. Perhaps it's just that the rest of the car doesn't match the dry carbon fiber? galleryPost('dryCFgtr', 3, 'Seibon GT-R'); If they'd made the rest of the car flat black it would match better. Or perhaps they should have removed the rear wing . Do you think it would look better with normal "wet" carbon fiber, or is there a way to salvage the "dry" look? [via GTRblog ]

We have SickWrathTerror over at the Motive Mag Forums to thank for sharing this photo of one Infiniti G35 owner apparently unaware that the 2009 GT-R was going to be available in the states. [ Motive Forums ]

You knew it was bound to happen. We've already seen the first examples of modifications on the 2009 Nissan GT-R . But now comes something even more — perverse . That's right friends, here come the body kits. Tuning shop Garage Defend has brought their twin goals of increased down force and debatably increased style to Nissan's new Godzilla. Their modifications include front end canards, a new spoiler at the back, an inch and a half drop, new seats and a new muffler system. We're expecting this will be among the tamest of modified GT-Rs until such time as they start hitting our nation's West Coast. Then, whoa nelly, you better grab the women and children and run for shelter from the tuning madness. galleryPost('gdgtr', 9, 'Garage Defend Prepped Nissan GT-R'); [ NihonCar ]

newVideoPlayer("nissan_gtr_orange.flv", 463, 387,""); We remember being in the exact spot where this video was taken. It's right next to the Asahi TV building and those lit trees were just being decorated at the time. Of course, we were there back in October during our coverage of the Tokyo Auto Show and we were being propositioned in a certain way, but we were totally right there, small world huh. Anyway, the driver of the 2008 Nissan GT-R is showing off his fancy shade of orange and then dusts the camera with impressive vigor. Looks like he's got some body kit bits and fancy wheels too. It's nice to see one that isn't in silver or black (or hot pink ), even if it is Halloween themed..
