The new Nissan GT-R is just too hard to modify for performance, what with the tricky, unhackable computer system and the already Porsche-confounding performance. That's why Japanese tuners Branew brought their Branew GT-R to SEMA with only appearance upgrades. The car gets a revised front clip, side skirts, massive 23 inch wheels, a triple-tipped exhaust outlet, functional spoiler and rear splitter mounted on a very C5 Corvette-inspired tail end. The Branew GT-R will probably suffer from the classic tuner problem of being slower with all the extra pretty stuff on it — a characteristic most tuner car enthusiasts are able to ignore. galleryPost('branewgtr', 6, 'The Brand New Branew Nissan GT-R'); galleryPost('branewgtrpress', 6, 'Branew GT-R Press Shots');

As proof the body kit isn't what's responsible for the " most hideous Nissan GT-R ever " from a few weeks ago, Zele has released pictures of their upcoming SEMA special carbon fiber GT-R aero kit, complete with brilliant orange paint. All the Zele pieces are individually available to add as much or as little of the upcoming Spec V look as you like, or you can get the whole package including orange paint, Rays forged alloys and an upgraded ECU sans-JDM speed limiter. Pricing for individual pieces runs from about $500 up to $1,100, while pricing for the entire upgrade package appears to still be in the works. galleryPost('zelecfgtr', 9, 'It IS Possible To Tastefully Mod The Nissan GT-R'); [ Motor Authority ]

You knew it was bound to happen. We've already seen the first examples of modifications on the 2009 Nissan GT-R . But now comes something even more — perverse . That's right friends, here come the body kits. Tuning shop Garage Defend has brought their twin goals of increased down force and debatably increased style to Nissan's new Godzilla. Their modifications include front end canards, a new spoiler at the back, an inch and a half drop, new seats and a new muffler system. We're expecting this will be among the tamest of modified GT-Rs until such time as they start hitting our nation's West Coast. Then, whoa nelly, you better grab the women and children and run for shelter from the tuning madness. galleryPost('gdgtr', 9, 'Garage Defend Prepped Nissan GT-R'); [ NihonCar ]

newVideoPlayer("nissan_gtr_orange.flv", 463, 387,""); We remember being in the exact spot where this video was taken. It's right next to the Asahi TV building and those lit trees were just being decorated at the time. Of course, we were there back in October during our coverage of the Tokyo Auto Show and we were being propositioned in a certain way, but we were totally right there, small world huh. Anyway, the driver of the 2008 Nissan GT-R is showing off his fancy shade of orange and then dusts the camera with impressive vigor. Looks like he's got some body kit bits and fancy wheels too. It's nice to see one that isn't in silver or black (or hot pink ), even if it is Halloween themed..
