The coach builders at Fioravanti have been caught testing a restyled Ferrari F430 this weekend at Fiorano.That would explain the lack of any camouflage, as the creation is likely a one-off built for rich customer as part of Ferrari's recently publicized effort to offer "whatever the hell you want" bespoke cars to those willing to shell out the necessary cash. Formalizing a long history of coach-built specials for super-crazy-rich customers (remember the James Glickenhaus Ferrari P4/5 ?), Ferrari has confirmed to Car magazine that they'll build you just about any car you want if you're prepared to pay for it. We're not talking about the Scaglietti personalization program here either; the only limitations are no SUVs, station wagons or sedans, and you have to use the chassis and airbags of an existing model. So, how many zeroes are involved? Add at least $3.14 million U.S. on top of the price of the car if you want a completely unique model. But, as James Glickenhaus will tell you, the money will be well spent, not only guaranteeing you top resale value at Barrett Jackson in a few years, but also ensuring that you'll get a car customized to suit your fancy — even if that means ostrich feathers and alligator skin. We all know the car, the polished-to-perfection Saudi Arabian Audi A8 you get in your email every four to six months, usually from the uncle who doesn't understand the internet telling you those durn furiners got too much money. Well, that car has now been tossed into the waste bin of internet history. We have a new champion of bling, a fully polished Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano. Yesterday we told you all about the greatest Fierrari Enzno ever built, a piece of kit with such attention to detail it would make a Swiss watchmaker weep. Today we pick up on another niche coachbuilder following in the footsteps of the Fierrari, Edo Competition . Despite starting off with an actual Enzo instead of a Pontiac Fiero, Edo totally falls flat when compared to the magic of the Enzno. In-depth analysis below the fold. We think it's fairly clear by these glaring faults that Edo has a lot of work to do, and we didn't even jump into some of the more disappointing details down the sides. Seriously, the Enzo is a good start and all, but pumping up a tepid car to a meager 700 HP, dropping carbon fiber bits all over the place, adding an adjustable suspension and quicker shift points is just totally phoning it in. We've never heard of the Scandinavian speed shop Makela Auto Tuning, but we want to be their best friends. These guys are rally and exotic car aficionados of high order, and loving documentarians of their craft. As such there are over 200 images on their site of the transformation of a run of the mill Ferrari 308 GTB into a rip-snorting FIA Group IV spec rally machine. Not doing anything in the beginning of April? Want to see James Glickenhaus' Pininfarina-designed Ferrari P4/5 ? Feel like going to Bahrain? Now's your chance to scratch all those itches at once. Glickenhaus is heading to the U.A.E. for the 2008 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix on April 4th-6th. It's an event we're told will "play host to a mouth-watering array of machinery celebrating Ferrari's sixty years as a constructor of Formula One and sports racing cars." And oh yes, he's bringing his P4/5.

After the 2008 Geneva Motor Show , we needed a little recoup time, but yesterday we were back on the beat at the 2008 Detroit Autorama. We're just going to lay the smack down right away, the winner of the 2008 Detroit Autorama Ridler Award was a car we saw last year in the building stages - a Ferrari-engined Nash Rambler dubbed "Ferrambo". Nothing says chav quite like rolling up to your wedding in a 20 foot long Ferrari 360 Modena Limo. Though not quite as impressive as the Czech-built Skoda limo the other day, this one will probably hold more Guinness World Records. The 360 limo was the brainchild of owner and builder Dan Cawley, in partnership with former Mclaren associate Chris Wright. They constructed the car by slicing the beast in half and then painstakingly reconstructing the carbon-fiber chassis, along with adding carbon -iber supports. Back in 2006, when Michiel van den Brink revealed his designs for a tribute to the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO , Ferraristi were taken by its curvilinear sex appeal. So taken, that some offered their deep pockets in exchange for one in three dimensions. Now, it appears the designer's turned the spec project into a real, coachbuilding exercise. His company, Vandenbrink Design , announced today five of the GTOs will be built, each one based on the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano. The price for the rebody job will start at a stout 993,000 Euros or $1.4 million, which includes interior specialization by Henk van Lith . Two models are in the offing: a 599 GTO with stock 6.0-liter V12 producing 650 hp, and the 630 GTO, which offers some manner of engine tune by EDO Competition to produce 750 hp. Production will start in 2008, the company says, though there's no confirmation that the first buyer will be descended from one of the guys on the Dutch Masters cigar box.
