Remember when we went to war in Iraq because of the threat of weapons of mass destruction and used Kuwait as a staging area? Apparently, this was all just an effort by Kuwait to disguise this truly dangerous and frightening fifth-generation Nissan Maxima. With a 7-series/3-series hybrid nose, scissor doors and Supra wing this Maxima is somehow the worst of all worlds. It's so ugly we don't even think it could find a home at SEMA. Though we've seen many of these mods before, there is something especially hideous about seeing them all together. The collapsing hood, like the petals of a Venus Flytrap, is setup to trap unsuspecting onlookers. Oh, and it's for sale. Happy bidding. galleryPost('bmwmaxmia', 9, 'I Kind Of Felt Sorry For The Horse'); [ Flickr via Carscoop ]

It didn't take long after showing you the unveiling of Stuart Appleby's now finished BMW M5 Ute before reader Gustav hit us up with a link to Stuart's favorite hangout at M5Boards.com , where a raft of high-resolution images have been posted. These new shots confirm what we suspected: This is one lusty beast of custom-camino perfection. Some of the style may be a bit over-the-top, but remember this thing makes its home in Australia, so it has to fit in. While the M5 Ute hasn't hit the dyno yet or "tested the chassis," the builders are projecting grunt in the range of 460 HP. We hope Mr. Appleby maintains his relationship with Bridgestone as we imagine he'll require frequent replacements for those 275/30R20 rear tires. Many more images after the jump. galleryPost('m5utegallery', 18, 'Oh So Many Images Of The Baddest M5 Ute In The World');

After nearly three years of construction and thousands of fevered prayers from camino enthusiasts, along with an equal number of curses from BMW fanboys, the BMW M5 Ute is finally complete. The super-ute debuted last weekend in New South Wales at the Deniliquin Ute Muster , the worlds largest gathering of vehicles that do business up front while partying in the back. The M5 Ute goes to professional golfer and apparent hoon artist Stuart Appleby, who commissioned the build and happily takes the keys, admitting it's “a bit out of left field.” This news raises three points. galleryPost('m5utecomplete', 3, 'BMW M5 Ute'); First, we're conflicted by the idea of a golfer taking delivery of such custom-car awesomeness, but considering it was his dollars and dreams that made it so, he can't be a normal golfer. Second, we need complete detail images, performance specs, and burnout and hoonage videos, immediately. We're actually a little hurt the car didn't debut...

If Classic BMW of Plano, Texas endeavored to build the most optioned BMW 135i ever, we think they were successful with this tii lookalike . We were only able to up-option a 1-series to $52,550 but the clever mechanics at Classic are just better at this than we are. Starting with an already loaded 1-series with an MSRP of $42,900, the Texas tinkerers successfully added $12,372.42 in a "Performance Package" consisting of more carbon fiber and custom paint than we knew existed. It's expensive, but at least it's all covered under warrenty. The car is for sale on eBay so maybe you can snake the price down further away from M3 territory. A description from the dealer of how they made it work below the jump. galleryPost('bmwprojekt1', 3, 'Holy Krap That Is A Lot Of Kash'); galleryPost('bmwprojekt2', 3, 'Krazy Interior'); eBay seller description All installed options are BMW Performance parts - carrying full BMW warranty. Like mad scientists splicing bits and pieces of animal carcasses together to create something unholy, Dinan is prepping a BMW M3 equipped with a 638 HP version of the BMW V10. The heart of this ludicrous M3 will be a 5.7 liter bored-and-stroked version of the 5.0-liter DOHC 40-valve V10 found in the BMW M5 and BMW M6. This engine swap is not unprecedented, as Hamann, Hartge and AC Schnitzer have done it before, but this will be the first time major engine modification will be involved. Look for this manic M3 to break sound barriers in the near future. [ Modified L&E ]

Gas prices? Pshaw! Who cares? It's Deutschland tuning day today on Jalopnik apparently as G-Power's just revealed the successor to their G-Power M5 Hurricane with the G-Power M6 Hurricane Convertible. While the M5 got the big 730 HP BI-Kompressor, G-Power's used some kind of radical German-Power technique they're calling "softcharging" to provide 635 HP for the drop-top. That's still up from the 507 HP in the "standard" 5.0-liter V10 under the hood of the "base" model M6. Full power details in the press release below the jump, and all this can be yours for a mere 183,000€ ($285,387). Yes, the "base" M6 is included. Well, after the Neiman Marcus M6 sold out in 92 seconds, we guess it makes sense to up the price on an up-charged version — you know, supply and demand. galleryPost('GPowerM6', 6, 'M6 Gets Rocked Like A Hurricane'); FAST: G-POWER M6 HURRICANE Convertible with 635hp One of the world's fastest...

While the majority of us would be happy with a standard M3, Hamann's apparently not as satisfied as the German tuning shop has just revealed a couple of serious tuning packages for the V8-powered E92 BMW M3 Coupe . The two blend all sorts of fun performance upgrades with enough cosmetics to make Mary Kay blush. The first tuning package increases the 4.0-liter V8's output to 435 HP and a slight boost to torque on the crank shaft. With the removal of the speed limiter, the M3 can go up to a top speed of 187 mph. The second kit called "Sportkit HM/M +35" raises output to 455 HP. This second package pushes the speedometer up to a speedgasmic 199 mph. As far as looks go, Hamann drops a black on black paint job, matching the rims to the dark-as-night skin. Gorgeous. The black knight certainly does return. galleryPost('HamannE92M3Coupe', 9, 'The Homentashen M3'); [via CarScoop ]

Imagine for a moment what would happen if you took the 500 HP V10 power train and suspension out of a 2008 BMW M5 and put it into a 1988 BMW M3. Stop salivating. This is exactly what the lunatics at Piper Motorsports are doing.The car is being outfitted with all the fun stuff from the M5 and none of the porky excess which bogs the super sedan down. When complete it will have all of the subframes, suspension, engine power and countless custom components. I will also probably have it's owners breath, as we're sure it will take it away. The LUMMA CLR X530 combines three of our favorite things: white paint, the current X5 and a tuned diesel engine. The 3L turbo diesel makes 470lb/ft of torque and 330bhp thanks to an amped-up turbo and remapped chip. Also present is the de rigueur performance exhaust, which makes us fantasize about huge plumes of black smoke clouding up the crisp white bodywork. Mmmmmm, diesel. galleryPost('Lummax5', 6, 'LUMMA CLR X530'); As we're sure you've noticed by now LUMMA have also seen fit to include an extravagant but somehow decent looking body kit and white wheels. A host of other minor interior and exterior modifications rounds out the package. We'd take ours without the visual modifications, using it as a combination sleeper / tower, hauling trailers full of dirt bikes down the Autobahn at three figure speeds.

newVideoPlayer("Corolla_BMW.flv", 463, 387,""); It's a little known fact that one of us Jalops spent the better part of our youth traipsing around the country in the back of a 1980 Toyota Corolla without so much as a radio installed. That first parental Corolla turned out to be a gateway Toyota and was followed by an unbroken chain of Corollas extending to this very day. This is why there is an A4 in the driveway and a Continental in the garage. Things would have been different had the Corolla of our youth been powered by a turbocharged BMW inline six sporting 400 bhp and 370+ lb.ft. of torque. Ah yes, smoky power drifts though the state of Nebraska would have made cross country trips far more palatable.

It's been quite a while since we brought you coverage of the greatest ute project the world has ever seen. The Postfather himself first broke the M5 Ute way back in December 2006, but in the interim, work has been steadily progressing. As it currently stands, the bed and tailgate have been fabricated, all the sheet metal refitted, cabin enclosed, massive new wheels fitted, and all the necessary electronic gadgetry relocated under a Ridgeline-like bed trunk thing. It looks like they may even be playing with the idea of some kind of aftermarket hood. We can't wait for this thing to be done so we can witness joygasm-inducing Bruce-amino burnouts. What's that you say? Video tour of the car below the fold? Don't mind if I do. newVideoPlayer("M5_Ute.flv", 463, 387,""); [ M5Ute.com ]

Remember those shots of the supposed BMW 1-Series tii we showed you late last week? Yeah, sorry boys, it's not a production version of the tii. Instead, it seems it's nothing more than just the German accessory brochure leaking out onto the web just a wee bit early for the wee little Bimmer. But, feel free to peruse the pages of the leaked brochure and dream -- courtesy of our friends at 1addicts -- if that's what you wish. Only caveat -- it's entirely in German. So umm, good luck with that. Or feel free to check out the performance accessorized 1-Series below. [via 1addicts ] galleryPost('bmw1tiimaybe', 9, 'A tii By Any Other Name Is Just A 1-Series');

We have literally no information on this car. It showed up on a 1addicts.com forum this morning, and we've been trying to glean details since then. What we do know is that it's registered in Munich, Germany; it has some very hot non-standard components; and it's made up to look like the BMW 1-Series tii concept we saw unveiled in Tokyo. Aside from that, it's all speculation. Pictures of unknown origin, from a well lit garage in Munich, with a car that looks like the tii, that won't start some pants on fire. The photographer saw fit to include a shot of the differential peeking out of the underbody, but why? Is it an LSD? Maybe. We also can't really figure out what the doodads on the top of the steering wheel are. Shift lights? Really obnoxious turn signal indicators? Mood lighting? Your guess is as good as ours. None of this really matters though because we're pretty sure as soon as the 1-Series aftermarket takes off here, you won't have a problem making...

The tuners of all things BMW and Land Rover have taken on the new BMW 1-series coupe ́ with what they're calling the ACS1 3.5i. AC Schnitzer's tunage is highlighted by -- a "Turbo logo on the front spoiler." OK, they've done much more than that, but that's what the release starts out with so we couldn't just leave it alone. Some of the many enhancements include dropping a full bodykit on the new two-door along with aluminum struts and some enhanced torsional stiffness. For the 1.8d and the 2.0d oil-burning versions of the BMW 1-series, AC Schnitzer offers diesel performance upgrades taking the power up a notch by 30 HP or so. On the petrol side they're even claiming they're getting power up to 360 HP and the top speed from 155 MPH to a touch over 186. Not too shabby for the 2002 wannabe. Full release after the jump. galleryPost('ACSchnitzerACS1', 9, 'AC Schnitzer Takes The Space Odyssey To 2002'); The AC Schnitzer ACS1 3.5i Not only...
