newVideoPlayer("73_Mercuries_476.flv", 463, 387,""); The cage door creeeeeaks open, (perhaps suggesting the rust that will soon assail most Malaise Lincolns and Mercuries), and the angry mountain lion struts out into a field full of parked cars. The Continental... the Marquis... Montego... Comet... Cougar... they're all here, and they're all packing more bloat and less power than ever before.

newVideoPlayer("73_Grand_Am_476.flv", 475, 376,""); Even though the DOTS '73 Grand Am doesn't have the cool hood scoops of the car in this ad, it does have the soft Endura bumper. We kinda prefer the demonstration involving scientists beating on the car's snout with a crowbar. Anyway, did you know the '73 Grand Am handled like a "true road car?" Porsche drivers, look out!

newVideoPlayer("73_Datsun_610_476.flv", 475, 376,""); We've seen a '73 610 Down On The Street , and it didn't seem particularly luxurious. Quirky Japanese styling, yes, but luxury? You did get a lot of stuff not available on Detroit's econo-cars of the era (independent rear suspension, for example), but Nissan was claiming only 25MPG for this thing?
