  • Scrapping a Porsche? Build a PC! [Novelties]

Heaven forbid a Porsche Cayenne would ever have to be parted out, but if so, here's one way to make use of the 18-inch wheel shell. The creation was made as part of hardware manufacturer NVIDIA's computer case modding contest for Top Mods, a computer modding publication. galleryPost('nvidiawheelmod', 6, 'Porsche Cayenne Wheel Shell PC Mod'); A custom-made acrylic disc brake is also used to give NVIDIA's SLI branding a little love and the two exhaust pipes do function for the PC's radiator, which assists in the water cooling. Why do I feel this way? The same reason I don't like knockoff Gucci sunglasses, or BMW's recent "car in every garage" marketing strategy, or the Porsche Boxster, or overexposed couture logos on $10 tee shirts. Mass merchandising cheapens a brand. Would we hold Koenigsegg or Bugatti in the same esteem if those companies were producing watered-down, entry-level versions within the reach of the unwashed masses? It's not just about availability or price, either. It's mostly comes right...
