This Toyota MR2 dressed to look like a Porsche Carrera GT isn't going to trick anybody. It may have Porsche badges glued on, but they're not enough to distract you from the sickening proportions and ridiculous build quality. We haven't seen a supercar kit this bad since the Fierrari Enzo . The Porsche costume is mounted on a salvage-title 2003 Toyota MR2 Spyder with a modest 138 HP 1.8-liter four-banger. So how much would you pay for such an exotic motor vehicle? Well, the current bid is $12,000...but the reserve hasn't even been met. galleryPost('ToyCGT', 6, 'Toy Carrera GT'); For that kind of money, you could get a nice, honest MR2 Spyder...that hasn't been in an accident. Or if you really just want a cheap mid-engined Porsche, you could buy a decent first-generation Boxster. However, if you're dressing up as Anthony Hamilton for Halloween, well then this might just be the ticket after all. [ ebay ]

When we first brought you images of a heavily modified Nova kit car , we knew nothing about it other than its shocking appearance and innovative styling direction. We'd literally never seen anything like it before. Some opined on its terribleness while others thought it wonderful — we'll say it's at least interesting as hell. But what about the rest of the story? galleryPost('completednova', 6, 'The Fine Line Between Insanity And Genius'); Steve McHugh is a man with a passion for Nova kit cars, and the white beast we all witnessed is his creation. Obviously it didn't start out that way: Steve has gone through three different major iterations of the car over the course of ten years. Each time he reworks the car, it gets a little bit wilder. The original version was essentially just a lightly modified version of the kit, with some lower body modifications and grafted-on Cougar headlights. We see it preserved for posterity below. galleryPost('novastage1'...

Massachusetts based kit car manufacturer Factory Five Racing unveiled their fourth model at their annual owners gathering, appropriately titled Moochfest '08. Our friend Nick was there to report, "On Saturday, FFR unveiled the most badass thing ever-- their '33 Coupe. They were more than a little cagey about revealing details about it, but said it is stiffer and lighter than the Cobra [replica], has a 22" longer wheelbase, and can take tons of different motors. It also has independent front suspension with clever control arms, and the prototype had 3-link rear suspension. It will totally fly--even on a track. Now even ZZ Top can enjoy 300' drifts."
