newVideoPlayer("/2010-Mustang-Vert.flv", 506, 423,""); Up on the internet; It's bird, it's a plane, it's total 2010 Ford Mustang day! In marketing parlance, we believe this is called a media blitz, and the latest component following the first images and official details and the video of the Mustang GT hard top is this video of the Mustang GT Convertible. Chop the GT badge off and replace the snorting V8 with a non- Ecoboost V6 and you'll be seeing this car driven ad nauseum by cheerleader types in the not too distant future. This GT version of course just lets the tire smoke blow gently through your hair. Demonstration foolishly not provided in video. galleryPost('2010FordMustangGTBlue', 12, 'Mustang GT - Blue'); galleryPost('LA082010MustangGTRed', 12, 'Mustang And Mustang GT - Red'); galleryPost('LA08MustangGTInt', 9, 'Mustang GT - Interior'); [ Youtube.de ]

newVideoPlayer("/2010-Mustang-GT.flv", 494, 371,""); After last night's reveal of the reskinned and retuned 2010 Ford Mustang , it sure didn't take long for video of the car in motion to hit the web but here she be, in her pony-car glory. The new 'Stang does little to show off its 315 HP other than provide proof that it can attain forward motion. We're sorely disappointed the first video provided no roiling clouds of tire smoke played to a chainsaw-heavy Jackyl soundtrack, but you can't have everything. We'll be seeing the live unveil soon enough at the LA Auto Show, but feel free to enjoy the huge galleries below. galleryPost('2010FordMustangGTBlue', 12, 'Mustang GT - Blue'); galleryPost('LA082010MustangGTRed', 12, 'Mustang And Mustang GT - Red'); galleryPost('LA08MustangGTInt', 9, 'Mustang GT - Interior'); [ Youtube.de ]

Finally, after all the teasing, the 2010 Ford Mustang GT is finally here — revealed just in time for the LA Auto Show . var digg_url = 'http://digg.com/autos/2010_Ford_Mustang_GT_Fully_Unveiled_Looking_The_Same'; Actually, it was revealed a couple of hours early thanks to the slippery hands of whomever's running Ford's official Mustang site. And unlike some sites, we're not afraid to let loose with everything early when a little bit's leaked out — so, hit the jump to be the very first to find out exactly what's up with the new pony car from Ford. galleryPost('2010FordMustangGTBlue', 12, 'Mustang GT - Blue'); galleryPost('LA082010MustangGTRed', 12, 'Mustang And Mustang GT - Red'); galleryPost('LA08MustangGTInt', 9, 'Mustang GT - Interior'); Ford drew upon a myriad of cues from successful designs past to conjure up the all-new Pony car's cohesive style. Dear god, it's yet another teaser shot of the 2010 Ford Mustang GT . This one shows off the sensuous duck-tail curves of the new rear end of Ford's pony car. Along with the strip tease, Ford's telling us "The decklid spoiler is redesigned into a duck-tail form, with several options, including one that incorporates a rear-view camera, are available." Feel free to ignore the poor grammar, Ford accidentally forgot they hocked the grammar check software for MS Word. Full comments below the jump. Coming or going, the 2010 Mustang casts an evocative, dramatic presence on the road. The enhanced muscular look of the 2010 Mustang carries through to the rear of the car. “It’s a huge improvement,” said Chief Designer Douglas Gaffka. Design Manager George Saridakis and his team created a more-compact, wraparound look and enhanced Mustang’s width and stance through a new two-piece rear fascia. Reinforcing the Mustang’s heritage are the tri-bar tail lamps. The three individual red...

You can't make this SEMA stuff up sometimes. The guy who invented the big red gumball machine with the globe of gumballs at the top and the spiral ramp down the stand? Yeah, he's decided to try his hand at custom cars, producing a somewhat-faithful recreation of the 1993 Ford Mustang Mach III concept. The car is based on an early fourth-generation Mustang with custom bodywork to emulate the original concept, a Kenne Belle supercharger strapped to the factory 4.6-liter V8 and an interior to match the outside. To see more about what Modified Mustang magazine calls "The Mock Mach" head over to mustangconcept3.com . Just don't tell them we sent you. galleryPost('mustangmachiiisema', 6, 'Wow, Check Out The Classy Carpet In This Hall');

Army Specialist Kory Chesher of the 101st Airborne Division in Iraq will be receiving a 2010 Ford Mustang and a trip to the LA Auto Show for his story of a lifelong love of the Mustang that, sadly, never included owning a Mustang. When Ford launched its 96-day endless countdown they announced the new Mustang would be given to the person with the best Mustang Story . Chesher had been saving his money in order to buy a Mustang when he returned, meaning he can pour that dough into fixing up the car. The story below the jump. Chesher’s 242-word essay, “A Life Obsession" It started when I was about 6 years old. I was in the truck with my father and we were at a stoplight. Across the road at the other light was this “car.” It drew my attention away from everything else in the world. I asked my dad what it was and he simply said, “Oh, that’s a Mustang.” I remember it like it was yesterday. I now know that it was a 1968 black Fastback. That was almost 20 years ago. Twenty years of love, addiction...

In addition to the Raptor pickup , Ford will be unveiling its latest purpose-built drag racer, the 2008 Mustang Cobra Jet. The Cobra Jet, also known as the FR500CJ, is an attempt by the Dearborn, MI-based automaker to expand its offerings of racing pony cars. The Cobra Jet gets a beefed up 5.4-liter V8 with a cold air intake, A/C delete, 9-inch rear end, a six speed manual or three speed auto, a roll hoop and a specialized suspension. While no horsepower figure is given yet, Ford is calling it a car any drag racer can get in and immediately be able to compete with ten second cars. Not too bad for a factory racer, sounds like it'll do the Cobra Jet name justice. Details in the press release below. galleryPost('cobrajetsema', 6, 'Ford Mustang Cobra Jet Ready To Run Quarters'); COBRA JET THE LATEST ADDITION TO THE MUSTANG FR500 SERIES OF RACE CARS FROM FORD RACING DEARBORN, Mich, Nov. 4, 2008 – With the addition of the 2008 Cobra Jet Mustang, Ford Racing will have once...

Being unable to wait much longer for, or endure more teasers of, the 2010 Ford Mustang we're going to believe that these photos are actually the Hot Wheels version of the 2010 Mustang that is set to debut at the LA Auto Show this month. As wild as the thought is, we have a few reasons to believe that this car posted on eBay is actually a real version of the new Mustang and not a clever person with a pen, some paint and a good imagination. galleryPost('10stanghotwheel', 5, 'Is This The 2010 Mustang Hot Wheels Car?'); galleryPost('2010MustangKORS', 2, 'What We Think It Will Look Like'); First, the vehicle looks fairly similar to our own 2010 Mustang renderings , including the angles of the taillights and the shape of the grille and headlights. Also, it says "2010 Ford Mustang" at the bottom of the vehicle. This is something someone could fake, but at the very least they did a good job. Second, the timing is right. Assuming that they want to have...

What are we up to now? Ten? Twenty teasers for the 2010 Ford Mustang ? We've lost count and, frankly, lost interest in playing this game. The latest teaser seen above came out Thursday morning, and we're just now forcing ourselves to post it. It shows off the center console and shifter — a lot like the teaser that came two weeks ago also showing the shifter . We'll be glad when the car is uncovered at the LA Auto Show so the constant stream of snippets comes to an end. galleryPost('teaser2010stang', 9, 'Ford Mustang Teasers, So Very Many Ford Mustang Teasers');

Close the drapes and be certain young children are not in the room, for this is horror on an entirely inconceivable scale. The utter malice exhibited through this monstrosity should be punishable. We believe this was once a Fox-body Mustang; what it is now is a horrifying interpretation of a Lamborghini Countach (kind of), but the Craigslist seller doesn't deign to reveal anything else about the car, assuming the styling will stand on its own — and command $29,900 . There is no question whether this is a Nice Price or Crack Pipe ; This is "ten years strung out, sleeping in the garbage bins behind a Korean restaurant" level Crack Pipe. ( Thanks for the brain-maiming tip Dylan ) [ Craigslist , Here if it disappears]

The above rendering (and rear shot below the jump) have beeen making the rounds on the interwebs overnight, purportedly press shots of the new 2010 Ford Mustang . While they look pretty close, they're actually renderings commissioned by MyAutomovil.com and not leaked press photos. Sorry folks, you'll have to endure through more of Ford's teasing strip show to continue before the official unveil of the 2010 Mustang next month at the LA Auto Show . Or you can just check out our galleries of the new 'stang in camouflage colors or rendered un-speculatively below. galleryPost('teaser2010stang', 9, 'The Actual 2010 Mustang In Jigsaw Puzzle Form'); galleryPost('2010GT500KORS', 3, '2010 GT500 Rendered With Less Speculation'); [ MyAutomovil ]

newVideoPlayer("/car-crusher.flv", 494, 371,""); Terrible news everyone! NBC liked what they saw in the scripts they ordered and have succumbed to the powers of the Dark Side, calling for an additional nine-episode set of Knight Rider . The result will be a complete season of awful green-screen effects, lackluster writing, unimaginative story arcs and blatant male demographic pandering. In other news, here is video of a car getting crushed to pieces by a stationary automobile grinder. We've seen these kinds of things in action before , but that was on a more portable scale, allowing you to, say, take it to the set of Knight Rider and allow instinct to run its course. If you want the complete and gory details, the press release resides below ( Thanks, we think, for the tip ScottE ). We're getting as tired of seeing bits and pieces of the upcoming 2010 Ford Mustang ( new and old ) as everybody else is, so when these candid spy shots of the refreshed pony car surfaced actually showing the grille — close up and in detail, it was like a breath of fresh air. The new grille closely follows our rendering but does so with a bit more upper lip. You know, for that cro-magnon tough guy look. Take heart though, this seemingly unending campaign of secrecy and teasers ahead of the car's unveil at the LA Auto Show in November is nearly over. Thank god. galleryPost('10stanggrille', 3, '2010 Ford Mustang Caught Without Its Face (Camo) On'); [ MustangRevolution ]

A German LPG advocacy group called Green Autogas has teamed up with tuner Rollin on Chrome to build a natural-gas powered Mustang GT . The green (surprise, surprise) 'Stang puts out 300 HP via the LPG mill, yet produces 20% less CO2 and as much as 95% fewer oxides of nitrogen; since Europeans are taxed heavily on emissions output, that kind of power with a big reduction in pollution equals more fun for the buck. The car also gets 22-inch wheels and a carbon fiber body kit, but actual fuel usage figures — as well as a cost-per-mile comparison between a gasoline Mustang and the LPG Mustang — weren't provided.
