This fake Ferrari doesn't look nearly as bad as some of the abominations we've seen , but this was spotted in China, where they've got plenty of experience making knock-offs. Oddly enough, they've decided to place Porsche badges on the fiberglass bodywork. Stranger yet, this isn't even a functioning vehicle: The car-like object parked along the scenic coastline is merely a prop for a local wedding photography studio. More proof that Ferraris and Porsches are the perfect accessories for posing. galleryPost('chinaferrariporsche', 3, 'Prop Porscherrari'); [ ChinaCarTimes ]

An Italian car with a glorious racing history should be given the red-carpet treatment at the Concorso Italiano , so you figure the Ecurie Ecrappe 1971 Alfa Romeo Spider should be a slam-dunk Best Of Show winner. Sadly, such was not the case, in spite of the car's great performance at many 24 Hours of LeMons races (when everything works, it's one of the fastest things on the track). Ecrappe member TheEastBayKid shot us a bunch of photos of the event; make the jump for the big gallery and EBK's description. galleryPost('Concorso08Top', 3, 'A Celebration Of Italian Style And American Bondo 1'); The Ecurie Ecrappe/Autodenta 1971 Alfa Romeo Spider returned to the Concorso Italiano in 2008 sporting red livery, Autodenta hood logo, and 750-series Giulietta front clip. This configuration was historically correct for Altamont 2008, though show judges did point out that while the car was accurate, fully documented, and competition-verified, it still totally sucks. Once I saw a tachometer with a "$$$$" marker at the redline and another driven by a leather belt coming off the camshaft, I decided I'd start shooting some instrument panels at the Monterey Historics. Italy, Germany, Japan, and Detroit are all represented in the gallery below, but Joe Lucas ( the Prince Of Darkness ) caused all the shots of British gauges to come out blurry and/or dark. galleryPost('MH08Gauges', 6, 'Gauges Of The 2008 Monterey Historics');

We saw a whole bunch of engine shots from the '07 Monterey Historics , so let's make it a tradition and check out some of the vintage go-fast hardware that roared into Steinbeck country this weekend. You get a pretty interesting mix of engines at this event, with exposed-valvetrain mills in horseless carriages, big Detroit V8s stuffed into tiny European machines, and all manner of high-strung Italian iron with camshafts and carbs all over the place. Make the jump for three big galleries. galleryPost('MH08EngPr0nTop', 6, 'Engine Pr0n Of The 2008 Monterey Historics Part 1'); galleryPost('MH08EngPr0n2', 32, 'Engine Pr0n Of The 2008 Monterey Historics Part 2'); galleryPost('MH08EngPr0n3', 32, 'Engine Pr0n Of The 2008 Monterey Historics Part 3'); galleryPost('MH08EngPr0n4', 31, 'Engine Pr0n Of The 2008 Monterey Historics Part 4');

As part of the run-up PR-fest for Redline , a schlock-fest of a movie, actor Eddie Griffin "lost control" ( can someone say "publicity stunt?" ) of a $1.5 million Ferrari Enzo and crashed it in spectacularly excruciating fashion. The car suffered major front end damage and most considered it totaled due to the delicate carbon fiber bodywork. Not Texan luxury car repair and salesman Matt Groner. No, Groner figured if he could get his hands on the Enzo, it had a fighting chance. As you can see from the picture gallery below, he was right. Jeez, who knew when we launched the " Save The Enzos " campaign, someone would actually save one? The dramatic video of the original incident , pictures of the carnage and Matt's exclusive story of how he brought the Enzo back to life are all below the jump. galleryPost('savedenzo', 6, 'Save The Enzos Worked For Me'); newVideoPlayer("/eddie_gawker.flv", 494, 371,""); galleryPost('chineseenzo'...

The 2009 Ferrari California 's now been spotted moving up California's coast on the streets of San Francisco. We can't help but think the new Ferrari California will be more at home in the southern end of the Golden State with an Orange County trophy wife dripping Botox and spray-tan onto the interior. But, we weren't consulted by Ferrari's well-paid marketing staff, so instead of this thing called "reality," we get blurry shots of the car in San Francisco's Barbary Coast area of North Beach. Whatever makes Ferrari happy. galleryPost('ferraricaliSFshoot', 9, 'California In California'); [ flickr via carscoop ]

Since the Gumball 3000 started from San Francisco this year, I headed across the Bay to get all up-close and personal with some Pyongyang-bound rich folks' rides. While Fairmont Hotel valets brought luggage out to such machines as the Chrome Lamborghini and K.I.T.T. and hordes of crazy-eyed tourists shoved against the police barricades in hopes of catching a glimpse of celebrities I'm too culturally ignorant to recognize, I stuck my camera's snout up in some grilles. galleryPost('08Gumball3000Cars', 9, 'Cars Of The 2008 Gumball 3000');

Welcome to Down On The Street , where we admire old vehicles found parked on the streets of the Island That Rust Forgot: Alameda, California. I've finally found a Ferrari on the island; sure, it's not even 20 years old and the Mondial isn't the most beloved of Ferraris, but it's the real thing. I was going to save this car for a special occasion, but it seems appropriate that we continue to honor Pininfarina in the wake of Andrea Pinafarina's death. To be honest, I can't swear this is an '89. The Mondial T convertible was made until 1993, and the lack of license plates means I can't check the state smog check site . But we know it's no Fierrari, because the Mondial wasn't loved enough to inspire Fiero body kits. You Ferrari experts can show your stuff now by pointing out the details that nail down an exact year on this lil' red devil. Depending on the model year, the V8 in this car delivers between 296 and 312 horsepower- pretty decent for a 3...

Andrea Pininfarina, CEO of Italian design and contract manufacturer Pininfarina, died Thursday morning in a road accident near Turin at the age of 51. Details are still sketchy, but the first local police reports say a car crashed into Pininfarina's motorbike in the city of Trofarello, Italy while he was riding to the company's design and R&D center in Cambiano. Pininfarina's death comes at a time when the family-controlled company is in the midst of a crucial restructuring. Last year, Pininfarina's consolidated net loss increased to 114.9 million euros from 21.9 million euros the previous year. Andrea Pininfarina is survived by his wife Cristiana, and two sons and a daughter. We're told the company said it will issue a statement later today. [via Automotive News (sub. req.)]

The coach builders at Fioravanti have been caught testing a restyled Ferrari F430 this weekend at Fiorano.That would explain the lack of any camouflage, as the creation is likely a one-off built for rich customer as part of Ferrari's recently publicized effort to offer "whatever the hell you want" bespoke cars to those willing to shell out the necessary cash. The body looks to have been completely re-done, but are any power upgrades lurking under that retro-cool skin? galleryPost('FioravantiFerrari', 3, 'Custom Coach-Built Creation'); It's hard to tell exactly what mechanical modifications, if any, are on this special Ferrari. The wheels appear to be identical to those on the 430 Scuderia , so the engine may be the Scuderia's up-powered 510 HP V8. Of course, if the owner really wants more power, he could always bolt-on a Novitec Rosso twin-supercharger kit , but that's not really the point here. Whoever commissioned this creation was probably more...

var digg_url = 'http://digg.com/autos/Five_Supercars_Worth_1_4_Million_Allegedly_Trashed_By_Drunk'; According to The Sun an unruly group of UK wedding guests spent this past weekend destroying five rented supercars valued at over $1.4 million. The carnage includes a Bentley Continental GT , a Ferrari F430 and three Lamborghini Gallardo Spyders. Although the details are still rather sketchy, here's what we've learned. The group of hoon-igans reportedly rented the cars for just under $10,000 apiece from Pearl Rentals of Wembley. The Sun claims the story is as follows: "a sharp-suited group of Asian-looking men...wrecked a Ferrari on Saturday after smashing into another of the cars. The Lamborghini — one of three rented — was totaled when it hit a tree in Bridgnorth, Shrops, on Sunday." Amid all the mashed-up metal, supposedly an Audi R8 escaped unscathed. New luxury triumphs again, apparently. We're also told UK cops are still trying to find the drivers...

We just received a full load of pictures of the steamy and dreamy 2009 Ferrari California . Ever since the new Ferrari GT made its well-planned debut, we've been slowly digesting the few images we've seen, hungry for more like them. In full, high-color, close-up, car-pr0n detail, we're now treated to views of the new Ferrari from every conceivable angle and all sorts of interior and exterior details. For instance, the steering wheel is pure sex and the gauge cluster has a slick monitor off to the left which details all kinds of fun driver information. We're even able to see the car has a dedicated "launch" button. This, we like. But were we pleased about everything we saw? galleryPost('californiaporn1', 12, 'Ferrari California Exterior Details'); galleryPost('californiaporn2', 9, 'Ferrari California Interior Details'); No. We don't like the nav system. It looks terrifyingly like a repainted Chrysler unit. Also...umm...well.....

The new 2009 Ferrari California 's been spotted on its way out of what appears to have been a front-offset crash test. But don't shed a tear over this brightly-blue-painted California. It's died so that the rest of the fleet of Californias may live. Unfortunately, maybe we should still cry a tear because we already know they'll all more than likely end up living their miserable lives getting their passenger seats chewed up by the tiny dogs of their celebutard owners on the way to a Beverly Hills Botox parlor. Still, maybe we'll be seeing more crash pictures — from the Paparazzo — just as soon as the celebutards get their hands on 'em. [ Autogespot via AutoBlog ]

So some drunk Canadian teenager peed on a Ferrari. Usually that wouldn't merit coverage — we're sure 90% of the world's Ferraris have been urinated on by inebriated teenagers at some point in time. But this one involved urination caught on video, posted on Flickr, then YouTube, and has received such an outrageous response on message boards like FerrariChat that local police have launched an investigation not only into the teen's actions, but also to protect him from what they see as a real chance of violent revenge from forum fan-boys. The clip shows "Gibby," obviously inebriated, releasing a pretty pathetic stream of urine onto the side of a 360 Spyder, apparently left overnight in a mall parking lot after its owner lost his keys. Upon discovering the video, members of FerrariChat were able to locate the culprit's Facebook page and subsequently his full name, contact information and contact details for his employer, who they've since harassed with...

There has been an awful lot of Ferrari news lately, considering the unveil of the 2009 Ferrari California , the official announcement of the oft-rumored Ferrari hybrid program, and news the Enzo replacement would come in a high-powered fun-sized package. Given that, speculation on the latest round of spy photographs is basically an exercise in throwing a dart at the wall. This taped up and modified F430 was captured in Germany and, among the suspicious elements, the exhaust tucked up under the body in an Enzo-like fashion is the one which most raises interest. Well, that and the taped-over rear window. While some are claiming it's the Enzo replacement, they're also claiming it'll have a turbocharged V6 or use the California's direct-injection V8. According to our sources, they're wrong. What is Ferrari creating in there? Like we said, could be darn near anything. But If it's the planned Enzo replacement, we're told it'll have the Twin-Turbo V8 rather than...
