Considering the tremendous capabilities and competency displayed by the 2009 Ford F-150 , it's anything but a surprise the truck has been awarded the Truck of Texas title by the Texas Auto Writers Association, making it the sixth year in a row Ford has owned those bragging rights. It was a good year for Ford and no doubt, cost-responsible champagne will be flowing. However, we're definitely confused by this next part. Apparently TAWA also awarded the 2009 Dodge Ram "Full-size Truck of Texas," something which seems to directly contradict the idea of awarding the F-150 the "Truck of Texas." galleryPost('09f150extjlp', 6, '2009 Ford F-150 Wins Truck Of Texas, Mostly'); The "Truck of Texas" award is given at the end of a juried voting process following an event lovingly referred to as the the Texas Truck Rodeo. Ford also took home awards for "Truck-Line of Texas," "Best SUV of Texas" with the Expedition King Ranch (which...

What comes to mind when you think of the color orange? No, besides pumpkins. That's right, the Dodge Challenger ! Now, you can combine the two and make a Challenger-o-lantern, just in time for Halloween. We know, the example provided by Dodge doesn't exactly show off their pumpkin chopping skills, but they've at least included a stencil for you to try it yourself. For you truck guys, there's even a 2009 Dodge Ram stencil. galleryPost('dodgeoween', 3, 'Dodgeoween'); [ Chrysler ]

We haven't had a chance in the saddle of the new 2009 Dodge Ram yet, but PickupTrucks.com guru Mike Levine had a chance to review and test drive pretty much every single version of the new hauler from the Ram-headed brand. Mike's put together a pretty exhaustive look at the whole lineup of all new Ram pickups, and what's his verdict? "After driving several Ram models in a variety of scenarios, we're still as enthusiastic about the 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 as we were when it was first reveled at the Detroit auto show. Most half-ton truck buyers don't need three-quarter-ton towing and hauling capability in their pickups, and we think most people will find the improved ride comfort a more-than-fair tradeoff for trailering and payload ratings that equal what the Ram could do in 2008." Sounds to us like Dodge is making a laser-light-like move directly at the half-ton market — maybe the remaining engineers over at Chrysler have the right idea after all. Head on...

Chrysler's plan to move the 2009 Dodge Ram off lots in this era of high gas prices seems to revolve partially around lowering the starting price to just $22,170, which is almost $1,000 less than the current starting price for a Dodge Ram 1500 regular cab. That low starting price comes with an increase in features on the interior, a more aerodynamic design and the RamBox , a reflection of the Charmin-soft truck market. The Ram Quad starts at a competitive $26,225 and the Ram Crew 1500 is priced from $32,530. If you want all the toys, you can get the Dodge Ram Laramie Ram Crew 1500 4x4 with the 5.7-Liter Hemi for $44,140. We're still wondering whether a competitive price and the promise of RamBox will be enough to move trucks — especially considering the new F-150s right around the corner, and nobody knows what to expect out of pricing for it. Yet again, we've got another shot of what's purported to be a 2009 Dodge Ram R/T (or perhaps it's a 2010 Dodge Ram SRT8 or maybe even a 2011 Dodge Ram Rumble Bee...whatever) caught over at Micro Center at 14 Mile and John R in Troy. Again, we've no idea what it is, but it's obviously some kind of test vehicle — whether mule or otherwise. Whatever it may be, please feel free to continue the speculation — as usual — in the comments below. That's what they're there for apparently. ( Hat tip to James! )

Yesterday we shook some trees to see if anything would fall out resembling a Dodge Ram R/T or SRT-10 by tossing out wild speculation on some nondescript spy photos. We don't know if that got some gears turning, but today a brief flash of what looks to be the 2009 Ram R/T showed up in a promo video for the Rambox . So of course we took a screen capture, waved a magic anti-distortion wand over it and ta-da! A sportier, spicier Dodge Ram. Now if only we could do that wand trick with the Chrysler Sebring. galleryPost('ramsomething', 3, 'Maybe This Is The Dodge Ram RT');[ Dodge via Auto Blog ]

We were breaking stories like madmen at Detroit, after our world exclusive drive through Cobo we went to see the 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 to have the world's first tailgate using the awesome new RamBox feature. And who volunteered to down the first bottle? Why that would be Dan Bodene of Chrysler Communications. Drink it down boys. galleryPost('ramtailgate', 3, 'World Exclusive Dodge Ram Tailgate');

Oh boy, heads are gonna roll in Auburn Hills. The picture we showed you earlier of what was purported to be the 2009 Dodge Ram ? Guess what? It is. How do we know? Well, it came off an official Mopar Accessories web page. Oops! Somebody made a boo-boo! Now the whole world gets to see the new Ram pickup well before the official Detroit Auto Show debut. This press shot was picked off the SRT Forums , where the poster claims it's the new 2009 Dodge Ram. We've no idea whether or not that's true, but what we do know is that since we didn't have access to embargoed press shots before the unveil expected to come at the Detroit Auto Show in 2008, it certainly wasn't us that posted it over there. Hey, maybe next time Chrysler will actually decide our readers are important enough to deserve the embargo access, eh? Whatever, we look forward to watching the stampeding bulls make their way through the city of Detroit in January. What the up-charged Mopar forum fans have to say after the jump. veritas : "I hope that's horribly inaccurate." georgejetson : "I think it looks good. Way better than the hideousness that is the current truck." [via SRT Forums ]

Looks like yet another enterprising amateur spy photographer's happened upon a heavily camouflaged 2009 Dodge Ram hitting the wide open expanses of I-75. We'll just add these shots we received from user "fordchevydodge" on the site all about the Inside News at GM to the ever-expanding list of horned hauler shots we've already seen. This time however, instead of circling the Auburn Hills Embassy Suites, this uncastrated male sheep was caught a little further South. This Quad Cab version of the Dodge heavy hauler was part of what appears to be a convoy (or is it a pride) of the trucks running the Michigan-Florida gauntlet. These particular shots show the team (or is it a pack) heading North near Atlanta. The new-for-2009 Ram's expected to be running with a few different upgrades under the hood including a new Phoenix V6 with supposedly greater power and better fuel economy, a 4.7-liter V8 or a revised Hemi -- for more marketing mojo than ever before. We're expecting...
