Following in the trend of late-model Corvettes being re-bodied to look like old 'Vettes, this illustration shows Blue Fusion's (that's actually the name of the company, not some fanboy's screen name) hopes for a car that combines the C6 chassis with C2 split-window styling. While this sounds like a great idea, they've yet to actually make one, which is fine by us because they could probably use a history lesson first. You see, they say they're basing the styling of the Rossi 66 on the "1966 C2 split-window Corvette" , which is a bit puzzling considering that the iconic split-window design was only on the original 1963 models. But Blue Fusion doesn't have time to study up on trivia, because they're scrambling to get a working production model ready for November's SEMA show. Their optimistic press release is below the jump. galleryPost('rossivette', 3, 'Split-Window C6'); We are pleased to introduce to the Corvette enthusiasts...

Yesterday evening we saw the Specter Werkes C6 Corvette GTR make its public debut here at Cauley Ferrari in West Bloomfield, MI. It's rare to have the chance to cover a car from its earliest concept sketches , through the build process and all the way until its public unveiling. But yesterday evening we completed that cycle with the Specter Werkes' special Corvette. The GTR shares only the roof, rear hatch and glass with the exterior of the 2008 Chevy Corvette Z06 upon which it is based and has a footprint widened by four-and-a-half inches. The overall design effect is one of taking the C6 Corvette, mixing it with a touch of Viper RT/10, and adding a liberal dash of kick-in-the-pants. galleryPost('spectergtrunveil', 9, 'Specter Werkes C6 Corvette GTR Unveil'); After the nine-foot-tall leggy models pulled the wraps off the GTR, buyer number one Rollie Purifoy pulled the car into the crush of an enthusiastic crowd, giving us an opportunity to spend a couple of minutes...

Since GM continues to ignore our online petitions for an amphibious Corvette, we guess we could get along in a speedboat meant to mimic one. That's where Malibu Boats comes with it's LS7-powered monster. Every detail from the car was lifted for this hot-rodded boat, including actual Corvette seats, dash, tail-lamps and even Corvette wheels for the custom-built trailer. This marina hot rod comes in 400 horsepower coupe form and 505 horsepower Z06 form. The ultimate gift for the Corvette owner that has everything but bad credit. Press release below the jump:galleryPost('vetteboat', 4, 'Corvette Speed Boat'); (Merced, CA) - Corvette has remained an icon after 54 years. Uniquely American, it's a symbol of independence, exuberance and driving pleasure.
