newVideoPlayer("/LewisKid.flv", 494, 400,""); As a child, we mean, more of a child than he is now, well before being a superstar of the racetrack, Lewis Hamilton was already in the limelight. The McLaren-Mercedes driver may be the biggest thing to happen for British F1 fans since Damon Hill claimed the championship 12 years ago, but how has the 23-year-old become so successful? As with most superstars of any sport, it all started at a very young age. This clip from a 1997 BBC program, features an interview with a young Lewis, chronicles his early career from racing remote-controlled cars at the age of six, to his early meeting with McLaren boss Ron Dennis . So much for our dreams of being an F1 driver, it's a bit too late to start now. [via GridCrasher ]

newVideoPlayer("/F1headlights.flv", 494, 400,""); Look closely at about the 0:17 mark in this video. Those are headlights. On an F1 car. Of course, it's all just a joke — apparently the boys at the McLaren Mercedes F1 team have a sense of humor after all. Granted, we're still waiting to see just how well the lighting system at this weekend's Singapore Grand Prix will work, but we're pretty sure none of the teams will resort to bolting on an array of high beams.

newVideoPlayer("/kimihateschildren.flv", 494, 400,""); At this past weekend's German Grand Prix at Hockenheim, Kimi "The Iceman" Raikkonen knocked over a young child and kept on walking. OK, so it all seems to have been an accident, and perhaps just as much the fault of the girl's mother (or whoever that woman is), but after intentionally pushing over a photographer several weeks ago at Silverstone, we're wondering if the Finn is on a mean streak. newVideoPlayer("LewisHamF1vsJet.flv", 494, 400,""); The age-old battle of car versus airplane has been renewed by Lewis Hamilton, racing his McLaren Mercedes F1 car against a Learjet. Sadly, it's not quite as exciting as Top Gear's Bugatti Veyron versus EuroFighter contest, but then this was just some publicity stunt put on because Hamilton is a "brand ambassador" for Bombardier Learjet. Whatevs; we'll take all the car vs. jet battles we can get. [via GridCrasher ]

newVideoPlayer("/BatmobileSilverstone_gawker.flv", 506, 423,""); We told you this past week the Batmobile would be taking some laps at Silverstone , with Panasonic Toyota Racing's Formula 1 car team spending some time this weekend running alongside at the track. Now we've got the video to prove that still shot wasn't some kind of hallucination. Don't expect a lot of screeching tires and hard and fast 'round the bend action. Do expect a lot of Panasonic Toyota Racing drivers Timo Glock and Jarno Trulli hamming it up with the Tumbler and the BatPod — which apparently, from what we hear, almost no one can successfully drive . Although Trulli looking like he's searching for the ignition. Still, setting aside the fact that it's fairly lame B-roll in the action department, we've got to say the current incarnation of the Batmobile's the coolest one conceived — even if we don't get to see it taking Silverstone like it deserves...

newVideoPlayer("HamiltonCrash067_Jalopnik.flv", 506, 423,""); Following in the footstops of Daddy Hamilton , Lewis had an unfortunate accident at the Canadian Grand Prix this weekend. Apparently missing the red light as he exited pit row, Hamilton rear-ended Kim Raikkonen just 17 laps into the race. With two of the sport's best drivers out, BMW's Robert Kubica won his first Formula One event, becoming the first Polish driver to do so. Break out the pierogi and golabki, they're still partying in Krakow. (h/t PhkMark, the happy Canadian) [ YouTube ]

newVideoPlayer("senna_dog.flv", 494, 371,""); We watched the first part of the Turkish Grand Prix this morning and after the first corner featured some serious car over car accident action and the Ferrari/Mercedes slap fest, we got a little bored and sought out better things to do with our Sunday. Our mistake. We missed the Bruno Senna stray dog destruction derby. Yep, Fido (do wild dogs have names?) and a friend wandered onto the track. Fido's friend escaped but Fido wasn't so lucky, and ended up being struck by Senna's right suspension. Both the suspension and the dog found their end. Yeah, Felipe Massa may have won the race, but we definitely know who lost. Poor, poor Fido. This video is not safe for members of the ASPCA, small children or anyone else with a strong dislike for seeing dogs accidentally run over on a track. [ Eurosport and Youtube ]

newVideoPlayer("SauberWreck_Jalopnik.flv", 463, 387,""); BMW thought it would be a good idea to bring out the new Sauber F1 car for a bit of fun at the BMW plant in Munich. Why not halt ze making of ze Bimmers for a few minutes and give the 5,000 or so workers a little entertainment? Well, we can think of a reason. BMW's driver Nick Heidfeld zooms down the strasse and does a donut for the crowd yesterday without incident. Apparently pleased with himself, he guns that big engine and heads down the street for an encore. This is where things start to fall apart. Literally. Overcome with the joy of a well executed donut, Heidfeld loses track of where the barrier is. Oops. At least he missed the medical car . Thankfully, someone made a video of it because the official F1 press release was typically mum about the incident. We tell ya, Bernie's yet to find a problem he can't ignore. newVideoPlayer("FerrariNewishNose_gawker.flv", 494, 413,""); We hear the "breathing hole" on the nose of the new Ferrari F1 car will, in addition to providing a more efficient Ferrari front wing with less drag for increased top speed, also help with those annoying bouts of severe sleep apnea. Also, all the other kids at school would still be laughing at Ferrari's little bubbaleh if they hadn't gotten it done for her. And for those of you who can't-a speak-a the Italian-a, we've got a helpful translation of the gist of the animation above after the jump thanks to the F1 fan-boys over at Axis Of Oversteer "a channel joins the lower section of the nose to the upper, with an inverted profile wing inserted at the channel's exit. The basic purpose of this configuration is to relieve the negative effects of the high pressure area under the nose which creates an aerodynamic obstruction as the speed increases." You'll be able to check...

newVideoPlayer("MaxMosleyNazi2_gawker.flv", 475, 376,""); The latest update in the Max Mosley Nazi orgy sex video scandal is the FIA has set a date of June 3rd for a General Assembly meeting of the FIA Senate, in which there is expected to be a vote of no confidence in Mosley. But to be fair, we kind of expected that. What we didn't expect was that the High Court of London would refuse Mosley's injunction against gossip rag News of the World . The injunction saw the removal of the sex video of Mosley engaging in various acts with five prostitutes, but now that the injunction has been refused NotW has restored the video and reports visits to their web site have increased 600%. Well, we could have told them a Nazi sex orgy video starring a Formula 1 chief would be good for traffic . So, better question is what the new video shows us. Well, it's not so much what we can see as it is what we can hear. The audio stream has Mosley talking like ze Germans he seemingly...

newVideoPlayer("F1NaziSexOrgy_jalopnik_gawker.flv", 475, 356,""); var digg_url = 'http://digg.com/autos/Video_of_F1_boss_Max_Mosley_in_Nazi_Orgy_with_5_hookers'; FIA President Max Mosley has been caught on film taking part in a Nazi fetish orgy, a British tabloid revealed earlier today. Although we initially thought it was the world's zaniest April Fool's joke, we were wrong. Sick and wrong. During the five-hour orgy video, which the tabloid also has in possession (and which we have a quick clip from up top) Mosley both dominated and submitted to the five hookers, who dressed both as Nazis and concentration camp prisoners. The 67-year-old, who has been married for 48 years, was at one point whipped so hard that the orgy had to be halted while a bandage was applied to stop his bleeding. galleryPost('maxmosleyorgy', 6, 'Max Mosley Nazi Orgy'); The orgy allegedly took place on Friday at a $4 million apartment-cum-dungeon near his home in...
