newVideoPlayer("DeathRaceJalopnik_gawker.flv", 506, 300,""); A week after we showed you our exclusive first look at the cars of Death Race , the new movie starring Jason Statham to be released by Universal later this summer, we've now got the first trailer for the movie. What can we say? Well, it's intense and in it we learn the first rule of the Death Race — you never drive backwards. Unless you're Statham and you're driving a Mustang — and I'd have to say the 'stang (called Frankenstein's Monster) looks seriously cool. Really, this should have been what the made the new KR look like. It makes every other Mustang variant look like a girlie car. Whatever, we're going to stop talking now and just let you watch the video above and then check out the gallery of vehicles again below. galleryPost('DeathRace2008', 18, 'How Many Points Was That?');

newVideoPlayer("BoydCZZ_Jalopnik.flv", 463, 387,""); For those still continuing to cope with Boyd Coddington's death , here's a video that should put a smile on your face and maybe dry up a few of those tears. One of Coddington's most beloved custom cars was the Cadzilla, which was created for ZZ Top singer Billy Gibbons (sometimes referred to as CadZZilla). Truly a unique ride, the custom cost around $900,000 to build. This might explain why ZZ Top put Cadzilla in so many videos. Our favorite has to be the video "Doubleback" for the Back To The Future Part III soundtrack, which features both a DeLorean and Cadzilla. As always, the day is saved by three leggy young women in a custom hot rod. We love America.

newVideoPlayer("KnightRiderNewVid_jalopnik.flv", 475, 326,""); var digg_url = 'http://digg.com/television/New_1_30_clip_of_new_Knight_Rider_show_still_no_turbo_boost'; No turbo boost in the first 15-second teaser of the new KITT , no turbo boost in the second, 30-second commercial for NBC's new Knight Rider , and now we're here. How sad is it there's now a third video -- a minute-and-a-half clip from the new Knight Rider movie/show now up on the interwebs, yet still no turbo boost. Yes, sure, there's plenty more moments of the new Shelby-fied Ford Mustang GT500KR-powered KITT in action and there's the new shots of the new Hoff-ness, Mike Tracer. There's even some great ignition sounds of the big 550-HP 'Stang -- but there's certainly no boost of a turbo nature. Although we hear Ford's working on that. galleryPost('KITTKnightRiderMustang', 9, 'No Turbo Boost Means No Happiness');[via Knight Rider Online ]

newVideoPlayer("Dreadnaught_gawker.flv", 475, 376,""); var digg_url = 'http://digg.com/movies/Behind_the_scenes_video_of_Dreadnought_from_Death_Race_2'; While we knew going in the Death Race "trailer" we posted earlier wasn't the real thing, our sources tell us like the Jason Statham screen shot we showed you last week, the video we've got up above is absolutely the real thing. It's some behind-the-scenes video from the new Death Race movie. That vehicle you see running through an industrial wasteland (that appears to look a great deal like a prison) is something called the "Dreadnought" and we're told it's up to no good in the Race all about the Death . Embargoes threatening our own "Death" prevent us from saying anything more. No need for us to give Universal Studios a free 40 points at our expense.

newVideoPlayer("NewKnightRiderTrailer_gawker.flv", 475, 376); If anyone happened to have been watching NFL Football last night on NBC, they'd have seen a quick 15 seconds of promo reel that'll make their heart beat just a few seconds faster this morning. The rainbow-colored network dropped their first promo for the new Knight Rider TV movie. It was only a few seconds long, but as soon as we saw the Ford/Shelby GT500KR logo flashing red lights and the voice of Will Arnett they had us at hello. galleryPost('KITTKnightRiderMustang', 9, 'KITT Is A GT500KR');[ Hat tip to Knight Rider Online ! ]

newVideoPlayer("ironmantrailer_jalopnik.flv", 475, 376); Compared to iRobot , Iron Man takes it easy on the R8 in the trailer, showing only maybe two seconds of it as the trailer begins. We're not sure if this is going to be a hit or not, but the Audi R8 seems a bit pedestrian for someone who is supposed to be a freaky genius billionaire. On the other hand, an Audi S5 seems about exactly appropriate for Virginia "Pepper" Pots, the secretary played by the lovely Gwyneth Paltrow. The film is going to be directed by Jon Favreau, so expect it to be "so money" or something like that. Full press release below the jump: galleryPost('ironmanstills', 3, 'Iron Man Production Stills'); "Iron Man" relies on the Audi R8 New superhero: Robert Downey Jr. is Iron Man Technically adept and smart - Tony Stark is unique Safely on the go in the R8, even without his high-tech suit Robert Downey Jr. is Tony Stark - the main character in the film version...

newVideoPlayer("SpeedRacerHiRes_gawker.flv", 475, 276); While the trailer for the new Speed Racer movie above certainly isn't in high-def, it's at least of a higher quality than what we and other sites have tried to peddle as "teh sweet." As we're sure you're already aware, it's been more like "teh suck." But at least this time you'll actually be able to tell the difference between Speed Racer and Racer X -- because here they've finally got more definition and aren't quite the amorphous blobs they were the in the last version we brought you. galleryPost('speedracerstills', 6, 'Go Speed Racer Go'); But if even this one doesn't do it for ya, here's a link to the Yahoo! Movies site that's got the real sweetness. Try not to get a cavity. ( Hat tip to Manny! ) [ Yahoo! Movies ]

newVideoPlayer("SpeedRacer_gawker.flv", 475, 276); Yesterday we were the first to bring you photos of Speed Racer , and now we're bringing you the trailer. We're going to hold off on making too many claims about this movie until we see it, but the trailer above kind of confirms what the film geeks over at CHUD have been saying about this movie actually being Peyote Racer . We're also going to hold off on explaining the story of Speed Racer to you because we here at Jalopnik don't think our readers are the kind of people that need the complicated plot and intricate character relationships of Speed Racer explained to them. galleryPost('speedracerstills', 6, 'Speed Racer Movie Stills');

newVideoPlayer("HelioDancingFTW_gawker.flv", 475, 376); We're fairly certain the gold lamé race track suit-inspired uni Helio Castroneves was wearing in his little freestyle dance the night before last wasn't made of Proban or Nomex. And thank goodness -- if it was, we feel we might have had to endure an entire IRL season of the Brazilian donning the suit for every race in honor of last night's big win over the forces of evil Spice Girl Melanie Brown to take home his other championship -- the one for Dancing with the Stars. In case you missed Helio's little racing-inspired ballroom romping -- and we don't blame you if you did -- we've included the clip from the night before last. We're going to go and gouge our eyes out now. [via Freep ]
