When you've got a supercharged, tubbed and roll-caged Holden Ute, burnouts, donuts and general hoonulence are inevitable, but this... this is hooning art. It seems you have to go to Australia for the real high-proof stuff, as this starts out simple and safely enough with a gross display of horsepower at a sanctioned local race track, but then the driver decides on a donut, and things go horribly, awesomely wrong as the car flips on it's side — twice — and then drives away to the roar of the crowd. Truly, we have much to learn from from this advanced civilization. ( Hat tip to Tim! ) newVideoPlayer("/holden-flip.flv", 506, 423,""); [ Youtube ]

newVideoPlayer("HamiltonCrash067_Jalopnik.flv", 506, 423,""); Following in the footstops of Daddy Hamilton , Lewis had an unfortunate accident at the Canadian Grand Prix this weekend. Apparently missing the red light as he exited pit row, Hamilton rear-ended Kim Raikkonen just 17 laps into the race. With two of the sport's best drivers out, BMW's Robert Kubica won his first Formula One event, becoming the first Polish driver to do so. Break out the pierogi and golabki, they're still partying in Krakow. (h/t PhkMark, the happy Canadian) [ YouTube ]

newVideoPlayer("Flight-of-the-Pug.flv", 494, 371,""); Peugeot has been making big waves in the world of Le Mans Prototype racing this year with their new-from-stem-to-stern Peugeot 908 HDI. The cars have been running well in the pre-test for this year's race at Le Mans, but as driver Marc Gene shows us here, accidents happen — at 170 MPH and into a wall. Apparently the car's aerodynamics aren't totally settled yet, as we see the 908 totally lose it in a corner and catch air, flying with the greatest of ease into the barrier. Thankfully, Gene managed to get out of this one with only a dislocated toe, but he should probably be thanking his respective deity that this wasn't worse. [ Youtube ]

newVideoPlayer("AutobahnCrash_gawker.flv", 475, 356,""); The good folks at CarDomain were kind enough to point us to another example of vehicular destruction today. As if we hadn't already had our fill with that crushed Nissan GT-R in Malaysia and the toppled Genesis sedans . Maybe we're just starting to feel a little bit dangerously destructive these days. Who knows. Anyway, there was a 60-car pileup on a motorway near Seewalchen, Austria today. One dead, 30 injured. And look, there's video for all you sick fucks to enjoy. I'm going to go and open a new bottle of scotch. And no, not the good stuff -- the real rot-gut, twist up your insides kind that you buy for cheap at the bodega down the street. Yeah, it's just that kind of a day. [ MSNBC via CarDomain ]

newVideoPlayer("berlinettacrash_jalopnik.flv", 475, 376,"");We at Jalopnik have sort of become connoisseurs of the Ferrari crash. And while the Eddie Griffith Enzo Crash may be considered an enjoyable appetizer and the the original Ferrari Enzo crash the piece d'resistance , this video of a dumbass in an F355 is merely a refreshing Apéritif . You can do burnouts? Cool, so could my old Taurus. (Moderately NSFW Language) [Source: YouTube ]

newVideoPlayer("firetruckcrash_jalopnik.flv", 475, 376,""); When you're fighting fires and saving lives every second counts. And while driving an emergency vehicle means you're exempt from the laws of traffic, there are no exemptions from the laws of physics as this firetruck driver learns when the rig starts to drift and a slight overcorrection has some awesome looking and, thankfully, non-fatal consequences. The video comes from a dash-mounted cam and is thus not quite HD quality but you still get the idea. [ Google Video ]

newVideoPlayer("snowcrunch_jalopnik.flv", 475, 376,""); Here's a classic from the Jalopnik archives just in time for the winter storm season. What starts off as a montage of cars bending fenders at the bottom of a snowy hill turns dramatic as the driver of one of the cars (either a woman or a man with dreds) bails from its Honda Civic before it slams into the back of a Mazda. As if this weren't dangerous and stupid enough (it was a fairly slow crash), what the now snow-bound driver doesn't realize is that there's an M-Class SUV about to crush him/her. And then, just to make things more interesting, a passenger of another Honda bails and tries to slow their car down by acting as a human snowbreak. [ Google Video ]

newVideoPlayer("racetire_jalopnik.flv", 475, 376,""); If there was ever a reason to sit through a minute of Real TV build up, this is it. Many dirt track stock car races have at least a couple of crashes, it's that possibility and the Keystone Light that makes the experience interesting. We imagine more than a few of said inebriated fans couldn't believe their eyes when they saw a tire fly off a car only to return home. There's no description that can do it justice, so just enjoy. newVideoPlayer("DoubleAccident_gawker.flv", 475, 376); It's not often that hometown news reporters get to cover live action that is self referential to previous news of the day. Come to think of it, when does that ever happen? In any case, this suspiciously accent-free reporter in Louisville, Kentucky happens to be shooting live in what must be the most collision prone intersection in Louisville because we are treated to an example of the day to day carnage at the 28 second mark. We especially like the aimless heroism that Ben JACKEY displays in the aftermath. If you're planning on going to Louisville in the near future, we suggest staying away from 26th and Duncan.

newVideoPlayer("LAHighwayCrash_gawker.flv", 475, 376); A "treacherous" 550-foot-long tunnel on the I-5 near Santa Clarita, forty miles north of Los Angeles, CA, was the scene of a deadly truck crash yesterday. The flaming multi-truck crash has reportedly already taken the lives of three truck drivers and left almost a dozen injured. Apparently the truck-only stretch of freeway mixes three of the problems truck drivers most dread -- darkness, blind spots and curves. According to the LA Times: "Big-rig drivers say they dread the tunnel. Some call it the worst in the state. The traffic lanes curve left toward Los Angeles and then, abruptly, the drivers find themselves in the tunnel, blinded in the dark...the curve plays a big role, too. If you're going too fast, you're dead meat." Note to self, if ever driving a truck near Santa Clarita -- stay the heck away from California's I-5. In fact, better yet -- don't even try driving a truck out there. And them's words to live by. [via LA Times ]

newVideoPlayer("Car_crash_300mph.flv", 475, 376);And elsewhere in Australian muscle-car news, an event at the Brisbane drags over the weekend is giving a case of the squirms to the world's racing fans and the women who tolerate them. A massive, corkscrew...
