At least that's the message Audi wants you to hear with its new viral marketing effort, a web mini-series called "Meet the Beckers." The mini-series tells the tale of a dysfunctional affluent family. Although we've got to admit that often times the stereotypes portrayed in the advertisement show are dead-on and funny as hell, we're forgetting one stereotype. You know, that Audi drivers are self-righteous assholes who think they have the right to judge everyone else. Come to think of it, the viral vid appears to be totally spot on. [ MeetTheBeckers ]

newVideoPlayer("Transporter3_gawker.flv", 506, 300,""); Friday we showed you the Death Race trailer which, for the most part, saw a fairly positive reaction from the Jalopnik commentariat rather than the savaging with reckless abandon we expected. But we're a fickle bunch round these parts so we should have expected nothing less than going against the grain. But we thought we'd reward the most discriminating readership in the automotive webosphere with some real Jason Statham-flavored red meat for the Jalopnik grille, by way of the always authentically automotive Transporter series. Yes friends, here's the Transporter 3 trailer — and from what we can tell from the few seconds of glimpsing the Audi S6 in this Iggy Pop-soundtracked 55 seconds of crank-ed up action, the final installation in the epic trilogy will be more in line with the unrealism of the second movie than the awesomeness of the first. The forum fan-boys at AudiWorld discovered this video lurking in the fodder that is MySpace uploaded by someone named Dennis. Either Dennis is a marketing shill and we've been had by viral advertising, or he's got some serious explaining to do. newVideoPlayer("IronMan_AudiR8_jalopnik_gawker.flv", 475, 350,""); After the big Super Bowl blitzkrieg , we all kind of knew the media marketing on Iron Man would muscle it's way beyond mere trailers, and it just has. The culprit? Audi, of course. The multi-ringed brand has spent some serious Deutsche-marks to set up a mini-site for the movie that shows off the R8, the rest of the Audi lineup, some historical background on the brand all about the Vorsprung durch Technik and about three whole seconds of all-new footage from the new movie with some Audi hand-job action spliced with it. Whatever. We're still excited about the movie and everyone already knows how excited we already are for the Audi R8. Although we'd prefer they'd have used the "Iron Man Red" Audi R8 V12 TDI Le Mans we saw live in Geneva. And yes, it's an awfully brilliant "Brilliant Red" paint job on this oil-burning torque monster . However we imagine that when it does hit the streets with all that ground-pounding torque , the world might just spin backwards. Maybe that's why it's just sitting still for now. The globe needs time to brace itself for the impact. So much for diesels being Earth-friendly.

All of them are sure to delight and astonish the Audi fan-boys but our fave flick's got to be the "Truth In The Blacklist" video above. The commercial's filled with all the tinges of the "Godfather" we were told to expect when Audi's Scott Keogh said the automaker with many rings would be going a little bit more "West Coast" in their marketing of luxury. So go ahead and watch as Audi puts "Old Luxury" on notice with the Audi R8 . The new A3 'vert features a fabric dropping top, and four engines available at the European launch -- two gas engines and two diesel, with a range of power running from 105 bhp to 200 bhp. On the outside, the A3's getting the same new front features as the rest of the Audi lineup -- and don't forget the always popular with the kiddies LED daytime running lamps, which come with the optional Xenon bulbs. Plus, don't forget the S-line with the S-exy 18-inch wheels to replace the base model's 17-inchers. Sales for the new A3 drop-top start in ze Deutschland beginning in February. Well, not anymore you don't, because we've got the highlight of the second episode of season ten of the world's greatest driving show, Top Gear . The show aired live on the Beeb last night and in addition to Jeremy, Richard and James running their second attempt at building amphibious cars (more on that later), two of the boys ran a couple of German speed demons around the Top Gear track -- Clarkson, teasing us with the Audi R8, and Hammond dropping the hammer on a Porsche 911 Carrera 2S. While it ends up being the 911 working over the R8 on the half-mile straight-line, the track course proves a bit more challenging. Which car ends up making it around the track fastest? We'll let the Stig decide.
