We've all seen cars with full-body advertising wraps; now tuner ABT Sportsline has taken the concept to its logical " modified import car enthusiast " (MICE) conclusion with a carbon fiber film wrap for the Audi R8 and Q7 . The wrap is just a thin adhesive film printed and textured to be nearly indistinguishable from actual carbon fiber. And, while the treatment doesn't lighten the car like actual carbon fiber panels would, neither does it add any significant weight or drag like most MICE faux speed parts. ABT Sportsline is producing the wrap in just matte natural carbon fiber for the moment, but if sales take off the company says they may offer more colors and extend availability to the TT and A4 also. galleryPost('abtcfwrap', 3, 'Adhesive Tape For Speed And Style');

ABT, let's talk. Listen, we've been friends for a while now and you often build amazingly badass modified Audis . But the ABT Audi Q5 is just too much. We opened up your email today showing off the modified Audi Q5 along with a press release, and it took us a moment to overcome the 'Are they serious?' moment we had. We know you like flamboyant front and rear fascia changes and big gaudy wheels, but isn't this a bit much? Seriously, no quantity of engine, brake and suspension upgrading is going to get us into this thing. It's too much. Dial it down from eleven. Press release after the jump. galleryPost('abtq5', 3, 'ABT Builds Mini-Henge'); When the engineers and designers with ABT Sportsline intend to tune an SUV, you can be sure that the result will be an extraordinary vehicle. That has been the case with the Touareg, AS7 and Tiguan - and that will be continued with the new ABT Q5. The elegant crossover vehicle is by concept a premium model in the...

A few months back we told you about the Abt AS5 which is a tweaked version of Audi's 3.0-liter TDI A5. Well guess what? They went even harder. Horsepower, originally up from 240 to 272 hp, is now an even 300 ponies. But the real news is the torque. Are you sitting down? Yeah? OK: 442 ft-lbs. of the stuff. From a 3.0-liter engine!! Wasn't it not long ago that heavy duty one-ton pickups stonked way, way less twist? All that torque shows up at 2,400 rpm, 60 mph happens in 5.3 seconds on the car's way to a 164 mph top speed. It always bares repeating: Americans buy horsepower but drive torque. Can we get some decent diesels over here, or what? [ via Motor Authority ]

Will diesels ever fill the performance gap with gas burners in the car-buying marketplace (and not just the Le Mans track)? Perhaps. The Kempten tuners at Abt say they've tweaked 300 horsepower from Audi 's 3.0 TDI. It's a 20 percent increase from stock...
