Eschewing trite teaser images , Audi has instead given us some actual eye candy, providing official design sketches of four upcoming models: the A5 Cabrio and Sportback, the all-new 2010 A7 four-door coupe and the 2011 A8 sedan . While the A5 Cabrio looks pretty much like a topless A5 coupe, the A5 Sportback is unique for not looking at all like a traditional sportback model, instead bearing resemblance to notchbacks of yore. The A7 brings TT-esque styling to the burgeoning four-door coupe market, while the revised A8, at least in sketch form, looks just about tough as hell. Take a look for yourself in the gallery below. galleryPost('audiconceptsketches', 6, 'Upcoming Audi A5, A7 and A8 Design Sketches'); [ Motor Authority ]

This Audi A7 mule was spied in Germany, but not ripping up the Nürburgring like you would expect. Rather, it was too busy bouncing off guardrails on a small country road located just off the racing circuit. It appears that the accident didn't involve any other vehicles ( or any biodiesel ), and the driver is said to be fine, but we can't be sure as to whether or not it was caused by a faulty component on the car or old-fashioned driver error. What is clear are the skid marks drawing a line straight into the left side guardrail— and then across the the road to the other guardrail. Looks like he must have been going pretty fast around that rain-soaked sweeping turn. Oh well, at least Audi sent a trailer to drag it back home. galleryPost('auditestcrash', 5, 'Audi A7 Is A Pinball Wizard');

Looking like your Great Aunt Edna in a flowing muumuu, the 2009 Audi A7 camouflaging strategy has taken a turn for the hilarious. Instead of the traditional "tape and blocks," or "crazy looking vinyl decals," Audi has decided on "giant brown tarp with holes cut in it" as the easiest way to keep prying eyes off its new coupe/saloon. It may be good camo, but we can still glean a couple of details. This is the first time we've gotten a look at any of the production sheet metal, albeit just tiny sliver at the B-pillar. Based on the brilliance of the camo, the only thing we can say is the car has five spoke wheels (for now), a dual exhaust, and is not slab sided. Those clever Germans. [ Autobild ]

Someone in the know over at Audiblog.nl has spilled forth a detailed list of all Audi brand engines for all models through the 2011 calender year — and the release dates for new models. In addition to the big engine news, the leakers claim that we'll be seeing the rumored Audi A7 model in June of 2010, as well as an S7 version following that fall, and a return to form for the next generation Audi S4 . Look below for a detail look at what's coming up for Audi in the next three years. Audi A1 Starting at the bottom of the grid, the Audi A1 will maintain the currently planned 1.4 TFSI, but will get an 86 HP 1.2-liter TFSI good for a little less power but will be quite a bit easier on European wallets. Audi S4 It seems the B8 Audi S4 will be returning to its twin-turbo V6 roots, as early as this coming November. News of this respite from V8 shenanigans comes with virtually all positive notes, considering the engine is to displace 3.0 L but grunt out 330 HP, only 10 shy of the...

Looks like the Audi A5 isn't the only one stirring things up lately. WorldCarFans has posted spy photos they claim to be the long ( looooong ) rumored Audi A7. Their spy shots look like a test mule wearing an A6 suit that's a little bit too small but we still like what we see. The track is stretched a bit as is the wheelbase, the interior is very reminiscent of the A8, but sports a revised dash and we're wondering what's hiding under that shifter cover. This mule seems to be sporting a wheelbase much closer to what a production version would have when compared to the last purported A7 tester . We're beginning to wonder how many niches Audi will be inventing for all these new models.
