Always wanted to go FIA GT4 racing but worried the cars just aren’t sophisticated enough for your carefully cultivated image? Aston Martin may have the answer. The Aston Martin Vantage GT4 replaces the old Vantage N24 with a larger engine, modified suspension and bigger brakes. You might remember the N24 from the Top Gear episode where James May drove around in one giving himself hemorrhoids. galleryPost('astonvantagegt4', 3, 'Aston Martin Vantage GT4'); With the launch of this car, Aston becomes the only brand in the world to make cars for all four levels of GT racing, 1 through 4. Over the road-going model, the GT4 is 300kg lighter, loses the interior in favor of a Recaro racing bucket and a steel roll cage, adds crazy light magnesium wheels and has the usual track-specific suspension and brakes. What’s interesting is that the company retained many of the road-going features in the racecar, meaning that if you’re the comic relief for a successful car show, driving it on...

These images of a sideswiped Aston Martin DB7 have us cringing at the sight of a catastrophic wheel failure that must have really stung at the time. We're still having nightmares over the stud failures on our Lemons Celica which nearly did us in (way to soldier through, Didorosi), but these bring it to another level. The shapely wheels are completely shattered off the hub and the wrinkled haunches don't help us feel better about the situation. People of the Netherlands, please don't crash your DB7's like this anymore; it hurts us. galleryPost('db7accident', 3, 'OW, That Is Going To Leave A Mark'); [ Carscoop ]

var digg_url = 'http://digg.com/autos/Aston_Martin_One_77_Revealed'; Even though we've been teased by the Aston Martin One-77 via renders , videos and a positively evil skirt lifting at the Paris Motor Show , we haven't seen the real deal yet — until now. Here are the first images of the body shell of the new, $1.9 million supercar with a 700 HP, 7.0-liter V12 and an already spoken-for run of only 77 units. We should be way, way more excited about these shots, but it's pretty true to all of the previous teasers, so there aren't any real surprises here. No shots of the interior yet, but we're sure it'll be swaddled in unicorn leather with baby narwhal ivory tusk knobs. galleryPost('astononseven7', 6, 'A Look At The Aston Martin One 77'); [ 529 via Autoblog ]

Gold isn’t known to the be the most durable of materials, which is probably why over-the-top tuning firm Alchemist left it off the bumpers and rockers. The 24-carat gold leaf on this Aston Martin DB7 is actually part platinum for longevity, but we still wouldn’t advise running it through a car wash, especially since we’re not sure how the seven (as in 007) diamonds are attached to the bodywork. Alchemist will be debuting its "Premium Bond" at London’s MPH car show next week at, what we can only assume, will be a champagne and cocaine-fueled five hooker Nazi orgy . galleryPost('golddb7', 7, 'Oh James'); [via MPH]

Despite his record of Aston abuse , current James Bond actor Daniel Craig has been granted lifetime privileges to swing by the Aston Martin factory any time he likes and take the car of his choice out for a spin. Want to borrow the test track for a bit? No problem. Of course, Craig says he has no interest in actually buying an Aston since parking in London is such a bear. Best to take the Tube. While we admire AM's PR gesture, we wonder if it wouldn't have been more laudable to pick someone lesser from the movie crew, like a key grip or best boy. You know, someone who can't afford to buy pretty much any Aston Martin he wants already. [ Motor Authority ]

In not particularly surprising news today, we learn all of the Aston Martin One-77 's have been spoken for. We say "not surprising" because, well, there are only going to be 77 built, they're going to be fabulously gorgeous and powerful, and if you throw a product unveil at the Paris Motor Show that's so exclusive the media isn't even invited, we're betting you've got some fairly interested high-rollers willing to sign on the dotted line . Oh don't worry Aston, we'll be fine, just picking up the table scraps you throw our way. galleryPost('AstonMartinOne77CLT', 6, 'Going Once... Going Twice... Aston Martin is planning to reawaken the slumbering Lagonda name and plaster it on two ultra-luxury sedans beginning in 2011. The first Lagonda will be based on the already nearing production Aston Martin Rapide , though dressed to impress and sporting a higher price tag to match. The other offering would go live sometime in 2012 and settle in as a Mercedes S-Class fighter, dredging the depths of the consumer market near the bottom at the paupers price of $100,000. With the mega-luxe sports sedan market filling up quickly we can hardly wait for 2030 when they'll all be cluttering the used car lots . [ AutoNews Sub. Req.]

newVideoPlayer("/James-Bond-splash.flv", 494, 373,""); If you'll remember, back in April a stunt driver for the latest James Bond flick, Quantum of Solace , lost control of a brand spankin' new Aston Martin DBS, plunging it into Italy's Lake Garda . According to Daniel Craig, the actor playing 007, a rabid fan has snapped up the remnants of that car for a cool £200,000 — about $350,000 in 'merican play money. Keep in mind a DBS off the showroom floor runs about $200 grand, so that's a whopping pile of change to claim the rights to a wrecked and waterlogged automobile which won't even show up on the silver screen. We've seen fit to toss in the video of the leftovers, just to rub salt in the wound. [ Luxist ]

Well, partially anyway. We've seen renderings of the One-77 , Aston Martin's new flagship supercar, but we've never seen live shots of the ultra-exclusive car. Until now. We managed to catch Aston as they were making some final touches to the One-77 just before the unveiling and here's what we caught with the sheet partially lifted. As we've already told you, the car will only see 77 units of production and, wait, have we mentioned the price tag yet? Yeah, we thought we had — just wanted to make sure it had sunk in. If it hasn't, here, maybe this will help — IT IS A $1.9 MILLION ASTON MARTIN! More coming shortly. galleryPost('AstonMartinOne77CLT', 6, 'Aston Martin One-77 Teases Us');

It looks like a sales contract for the forthcoming Aston Martin One-77 has leaked, bringing with it details of the price, performance and specifications, as well as two new teaser shots. With 700 HP, 553 lb-ft of torque, a 3,300-pound curb weight and a limited run of only 77 units, the One-77 certainly looks like it’ll be a special car. But can it justify the astronomical, nearly $1.9 million price? galleryPost('one77contract', 3, 'Aston Martin One-77'); The One-77 will be available in either left- or right-hand drive, has only two seats, uses a carbon monocoque chassis with hand-worked aluminum body panels, active aerodynamics (including deployable spoiler), carbon ceramic brakes and a six-speed automated manual transmission. The engine will be a naturally aspirated 7.3-liter V12, allowing the car to reach 60 in the mid three-second range and top out just north of 200mph. That all sounds great, but what does the One-77 offer (other than good looks) that, say, a $480,000...

Aston Martin has completed their on-site Nürburgring test facility, with an owners lounge to be following shortly. We're immediately more envious of Aston Martin owners — imagine the owner events held at the world's greatest test track. With Aston Martins. At the Nordschleife. As tempting the thought of a dedicated, exclusive, sports car owners hang-out is, the center will be used primarily during testing of new models like the Aston Martin Rapide , but a car geek can dream, right? newVideoPlayer("/cokebond_jalop.flv", 494, 400,""); With everyone looking forward to the new James Bond movie, Quantum Of Solace , there isn't a brand out there that doesn't want a slice of juicy cross-promotion. We can't imagine Bond to be the type that would prefer a sugar-free cola over a normal Coke, but that doesn't matter right now. We're just let down by how cheesy the CG Aston Martins look in this otherwise cool, stylized opening-credits-like ad. [via CarDomain ]

This is Down On The Street Bonus Edition , where we check out interesting street-parked cars located in places other than the Island That Rust Forgot . We get to see quite a few interesting cars and trucks in Toronto, where they must use magical rust-free salt on the roads during wintertime, and today we've got a huge batch of good ones. In much the same way that a bicycle ride hipped Albert Hoffman to LSD , BMWer pedaled his way to vehicular enlightenment in his neighborhood. Jump away to see all the cars and to read BMWer's description. galleryPost('DOTSBEBMWerToronto', 6, 'Vast Quantities Of Old Iron Down On The Toronto Street'); Here's a whole bunch of pictures I took over two days. I decided to have some fun and ride my bike around the city looking for cool cars while I got some exercise. Anyhow, I found most of these cars within a very short radius of my house, with a few of these being not more than a quarter mile from one another (Innocenti, Aston, GMC...

Proving that a fool and his money are soon parted, British company Alchemist is offering car owners a chance to get a custom, 24-carat gold leaf finish added to the ride of their choice. For just $20,000 they'll happily take posession of your Bentley, Aston Martin or Escalade and top it with a shimmering gold finish. Though the roofs are designed to protect the owner from having the gold-leaf picked off of their car, there's nothing we see that'll prevent someone from turning these newly guilded chariots into convertibles with the help of a torch or saw. A description of the process and photos of a few gold-roofed examples below. galleryPost('goldroofnga', 5, 'Enough Bling To Kill A Horse'); According to the company: The roof is first polished to provide a shiny surface for the gold leaf to reflect. Skilled craftsmen then place individual gold leaves onto a layer of a special base. Finally an invisible shield is laid down to make the surface scratch-proof – and...

Well, it wasn't exactly mine , but this white Aston Martin Lagonda haunted me for the two years I lived in Chicago. Living in the Yuppie Lake View neighborhood, the most interesting car I'd usually see was a Canadian Civic, which made the sight of this bright white English saloon amidst the Jettas and Pilots so memorable. The first time I saw it, I stood and marveled at it for longer than I can remember, taking in the unusual proportions of William Towns' "folded paper" design. I was determined to grab my camera and come back the next day to get photos of it and, perhaps, track down the owner. Alas, each time I went back it was gone. I'd see its reflection in a building, turn, and find nothing. Going north down Clark Street I'd see it going south. Little did I expect that I'd have to go to Houston to find it. galleryPost('chilagonda', 6, 'Me White Whale!'); Actually, I didn't find it. Ian Merritt, from Kicking Tires , was working on...
