After seeing the Nissan GT-R crashed in America , in Malaysia , in Hong Kong , and on the Isle Of Man , we've found another. This white GT-R, with just 349 miles on the odometer, has shown up totaled in a Nashville auction yard. It's said to have about $55,000 worth of damage, so we're not sure anyone is going to bid very much when it hits the block today. No word on just how the GT-R got to be in this predicament, but we're pretty sure this isn't covered by the warranty . galleryPost('GTRtotaled', 6, 'Godzilla Now With Battle Damage!'); [via The Car Lounge ]

Godzilla, or the new Nissan GT-R as some call it, has only just started stomping around our shores, already we've got our first report of a GT-R smashed up somewhere stateside. Details are vague (some say the GT-R got into some fisticuffs with a Corvette ZR1 in a dark alley) but it's clear the incident wasn't exactly a minor fender-bender. The forum fanboys at MyGTR think it may have had something to do with the GT-R being driven into a pizza parlor, so maybe it was trying to take out a Ferrari or something. Geez, whatever happened to fighting it out on the Nürburgring ? galleryPost('GTRcrashUSA', 3, 'Godzilla Now With Battle Damage!'); After seeing the first crash of a GT-R in Malaysia , and another one crunched by the boys at Top Gear , we're sadly starting to get used to the sight of Godzilla with battle scars. Perhaps the beast really is too fast to tame. (Hat tip to Joe!) [ MyGTR ]

The Dutch Cycling Federation in the Netherlands is boldly approaching car manufacturers and requesting hood-mounted external airbags on all vehicles. It's either that or they're going to have to stop running into cyclists (which will never happen). We're not going to get into the "roads are for cars" debate because we're sure the commenters will touch on that, but it's not a terribly horrible demand by the cyclists. The group says that 60 lives could be saved and 1,500 serious injuries could be prevented annually in the Netherlands alone with hood-mounted air bags. Luckily for those peddlers, the technology is already available. Nissan and Jaguar have both developed pop-up bonnets that help absorb impact from hitting pedestrians and cyclists. Also, Swedish auto part maker, Autolive Inc., has developed an external airbag that deploys from the bottom on the windshield. What's one more airbag? Modern cars have airbags all over the place so is asking for just...

That new 2009 Nissan GT-R R35 that we saw all bent and busted yesterday over in Malaysia? Yeah, you remember. Anyway, the folks at Wrecked Exotics found themselves some new photos of the broken Godzilla. One more moment of silence? Yeah, it's almost a requirement. [ Wrecked Exotics ]

The folks over at NAGTROC snagged some shots of a new 2009 Nissan GT-R R35 in a slight state of disrepair this morning. And by "slight state of disrepair" we mean crumpled, crunched and crap-kicked. It's sad seeing a speed demon like this all busted up -- it's like watching Godzilla getting the scales kicked off of him by Mothra. OK, that's not true. In reality this is worse for us to look at -- because everyone knows this here Godzilla ain't imaginary. Pardon us while we spend a moment wiping away our tears. But we've got to look on the bright side -- as one Jalopnik editor said upon seeing the sad, sad pics: "Well, at least we know the airbags work." Bright side, indeed.
