We all know the Chevy Cavalier. You may also remember Toyota sold a badge-engineered platform prostitute version in the Japanese Domestic Market that was built by GM. But — did you know you could actually buy a Toyota emblem from a GM dealership with a valid GM part number? We assumed we could. But intrepid souls at Automobile actually went and did it. What they found was the Toyota logo comes in a beautiful plastic poly bag. Feel free to keep it as a collector's item. Oh, they also found the same logo from a Toyota dealership costs between $2 and $10 more. Hmm. Maybe they add magic super number one best automaker from the land of the rising sun pixie dust to it or something. [ Automobile ]

Whether you're a fan of digital gauges or not, you no doubt remember their prevalence during the glorious 1980s . Everything from the Dodge Daytona Shelby Z to the Nissan 300ZX Turbo to the Chevy C4 Corvette complemented the era's best futuristic vehicle design with digital gauges. Motive Magazine highlighted some of the best, with accompanying videos to demonstrate the awesomeness. Our favorite? Definitely the Buick Riviera with iPhone-rivaling touchscreen media controls. A company by the name of AUO has managed to develop an oval-shaped LCD display, which could change the appearance of next-generation instrument panels. The ovoid LCDs don't just look good, but they could allow for customizing instrumented data. Of course, the technology is far from being integrated into your next vehicle purchase, but it's good to see the baby steps being taken. [ Ubergizmo ]

A young chap is selling completely authentic European customized license plates. You can get any combination you like pressed into the plate of your country of choice — and even add authentic registration stickers. We'd probably avoid purchasing one if you do actually live in a European country, since it's completely illegal. Even the product description seems a bit shady, involving the store owner "knowing a guy." Well I know this guy that has this plate making machine, uses original plates, has authentic registration stickers, and with one phone call can make up a few for you! Each license plate is available for $40, and you can even purchase a mounting bracket to slap it on your vehicle. The available countries include Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. [ Product Page via BoJ ]

newVideoPlayer("/partyacargo.flv", 506, 423,""); With football season looming, it's time to begin preparations for tailgating season. And if you want to enjoy all of the fun of tailgating — music, beer and more beer — without any of the hassle, the Party-A-CarGo box is the way to go. This diamond-plated supercooler includes everything you need for a good time, including an audio system and room for a keg of your favorite suds. The whole mess hooks up to your vehicle's hitch, conveniently obscuring your license plate, which could be a problem while getting to and from the stadium. And when you're pulled over for not displaying a license tag, law enforcement probably won't be too happy with the fact that it's obscured by a keg of beer. Remember, no tapping until you're parked! There are three different versions available with prices of $2,895 and up. [ Product Page via Giz ]

Listen up, hunters. You no longer have to wait for Easter or Christmas to dress up your ride: There are finally stupid accessories for you, too! Meet Trunk Antlers. As the slogan goes, "They turn your truck ... into a buck." You stupid fu...oh, wait, that was it. You may also want to throw on a giant neon orange vest on your truck as well, since we'd hate to see a confused brother-in-arms shoot at your dually just because it has horns. Mercedes-Benz is getting hip with the youngsters by announcing that it will support the Apple iPhone by way of a center-console mounted cradle. The good news about this is that the switching between audio and telephone functions seems to be pretty seamless using the center display and steering-wheel controls. The bad news is that the iPhone's dock is in the center console, between the seats. Even if all of the interface controls can be operated using the vehicle's controls, having the phone in the center console still makes it a pain in the ass to easily remove and replace. Oh, and forget about using the iPhone's GPS . Full release after the jump. galleryPost('mbiphoneint', 3, 'Mercedes-Benz iPhone Integration'); Mercedes-Benz makes in-car iPhone® connection even easier Stuttgart - Whether it be a quick call to a business colleague for an important discussion, listening to favourite music tracks or checking home and office e-mails whilst on the move - the Apple...

In an attempt to help your FM transmitter "blend into your car's dashboard," Green House has produced and released a pretty simple FM transmitter that looks like a shift-knob. It plugs into the standard 12V DC power outlet and includes an audio jack for plugging in an MP3 player and a USB port for charging supported devices. The real hilarious hijinks come when you accidentally try to aggressively shift with this device and tear the hell out of your dash. That, or you put it in a vehicle with a "three on the tree" and confuse the hell out of the driver. We can already imagine the LOLs. [ CG ]

Using an iPod or iPhone in a car is going to be that much easier thanks to the latest round of goods from Griffin Technology . The WindowSeat is an oddly named, but simple gadget. It's a suction windshield mount for the iPhone or iPod Touch. If the next generation iPhone gets some legitimate GPS, this will be a nice $30 accessory to have. The other new goody is the iTrip AutoPilot. The AutoPilot is a glorified FM transmitter and charger for the iPod that connects via the standard dock connection of almost every iPod and will broadcast tunes over FM. It includes a 12V DC adapter with play, pause, forward and backward controls for the iPod or iPhone. It also includes a SmartScan feature to find the best FM station for transmission and has SmartSound Plus technology for clearer sound. The iTrip AutoPilot is available for $100. This post is dedicated to the residents of the second best state in the continental United States: California. You folks only have a little over a month left until the handsfree type of devices are required by law so we're here to help you get ready for that with some viable options for continued chatter. One option is this Bluetooth handsfree visor car kit. This device clips to the visor and acts as a speakerphone and microphone all rolled into one. What makes it stand out from the usual lot of Bluetooth handsfree speakerphones is the inclusion of an LCD screen to act as a caller ID. That way you can avoid those calls from your boss while driving. For those non-Californians, you can still enjoy this device as well. Hell, there's a chance that a handsfree-law is already in place for your state. This portable handsfree Bluetooth kit is available for $100. Or save the $100 and don't talk on the phone while driving. [ Product Page via CG ]

With the start to the summer season now officially under our belt it's time to look for gadgets to keep you cool on those blazing summer days. One way is to always ensure a cold beverage with this car mini-fridge complete with an already included 12V DC adapter. Do you notice anything peculiar about the product photo for this gadget? Yeah, us too... We'd probably recommend leaving out the Heineken knock-off and Boddingtons while you're driving or there could be some serious legal repercussions. The car mini-fridge is available for $150, or you could just buy a Ford Flex . [ Product Page via BoJ ]

Any AutoX'er can testify that the Nissan 300zx is one heck of a fun car to drive. With that being said, we're baffled that one particular Boston 1991 Nissan 300zx owner would feel the need to install a 15-inch LCD screen right in the view of the windshield. Sure, there's space to the left and right to, you know, see the road and all, but in some states hanging cardboard pine trees from the rear-view mirror is deemed illegal and we'd hate to see what the police had to say about this ridiculous mod. Nevertheless, it could be yours for $5,000. After doing some more digging, and by digging I mean looking at the seller's MySpace page , it seems the gothastic owner has an affinity for Slipknot, bad tattoos, stars, and appears to have created a brand called "Super F*ck." The logo also adorns the door panel of the 300zx. This guy needs some help. [ Craigslist via Carscoop ]

Believe it or not, there are other uses for trailer hitches than hanging testicles ... like gravel driveway grooming. One item many forget to mention about having gravel driveways is the maintenance required. The Driveway Groomer is a simple device that can attach to the rear towing hitch on any vehicle, therefore turning your soccer-mom mobile into a workhorse by allowing it to groom and maintain that gravel driveway of yours. The Driveway Groomer sells for $350, with a miniature version going for $265. [ Driveway Groomer via Toolmonger ]

There's no reason to dismantle your vehicle or upholstery to install in-car entertainment systems, all you have to do is be creative, like with this car visor, which houses a 7-inch 16:9 widescreen LCD. Included is a DVD player and a video game console. The DVD player is capable of playing the whole lot of formats including DVD, SVCD, VCD, DVCD, CD, CDG, CD-R and CD-RW. Not only can it play videos, but it includes ports to plug in game controllers for some video game fun. There will be no Gran Turismo or Grand Theft Auto IV , but it does have a selection of 8-bit games capable of entertaining for at least one hour of that 20 hour road-trip with the family. The best feature is its ease-of-use. There's no complicated installation or hacking-and-slashing required. Just replace your current sun visor and give it a little 12V DC juice and you're ready to go. It even includes an FM transmitter so the whole family can enjoy your horrible taste in movies. If there's anything to...
