  • Two Alfa Romeo Milanos For $299? Let's Go Racing! [Found On EBay]

    After Seatbelt123 and the rest of the Quattro Libre team piloted their Audi 4000 to a respectable 23rd place at the 24 Hours of LeMons South event last weekend, they decided to upgrade to some fine Italian steel for their next race. What better choice than the Alfa Romeo Milano , with its insanely complicated and fragile innovative De Dion tube/rear-transaxle drivetrain and neurotic bulletproof Italian V6? And- can you believe it?- it turns out you can get two of 'em for under 300 bucks! What could go wrong? Look out, Tunachuckers , you've got serious competition for the Index of Effluency trophy! galleryPost('EffluencyMilanos', 6, 'Two Alfa Romeo Milanos For 299 Bucks'); [eBay Motors]
  • Rolls-Royce Corniche: The Ultimate 24 Hours of LeMons Car! [Found On EBay]

    You know that rule that says your 24 Hours of LeMons race car has to cost less than $500? Well, if you sell off parts of the car it's possible to spend more then that figure, and it looks like we've found just the car to make that possible. Imagine the awe that would be inspired by the sight of you hitting the racetrack in a 1971 Rolls-Royce Corniche! The People's Choice Award would be yours for the taking of course, and you gotta figure the Rolls bodywork can take some serious paint-trading punishment. This one's bid up to $735 so far, but we're pretty sure there's at least a few grand in unburnt parts hiding in that battered shell. Please, somebody buy this car for the New England race! Thanks to BananaDoc for the tip! [eBay Motors] galleryPost('LemonsRollsCorniche', 6, '1971 Rolls Ready To Race');
  • Everything Must Go: LeMons Car Produces Positive Cash Flow! [Found On EBay]

    Last time you saw the Volvo my team hopes to run in the 24 Hours of LeMons race, it was just in the initial stages of being stripped. Now that we've removed most of the unnecessary stuff, we've been selling every possible thing on eBay. Yes, we even sold the door lock knobs! Got $1.50 for 'em! And why are we doing this? Aside from our incredible junkyardy cheapness, that is? Well, the Official Race Rules state "If you sell pieces off of your car, the money that comes back in can be used to offset the initial purchase price." There's also the part about convincing "extremely skeptical" judges that you really did sell the stuff, but with eBay sales it's pretty easy to show proof. As of now, we're in the black on the car itself; paid $100 for it and we've made $135.45. Now we need to make enough money to cover the purchase of a loose-but-still-game Ford 302. Here's what we've moved so far: Hubcaps and Beauty Rings: $37.22 Factory AM/FM...
