Can you believe it? Flogging mercilessly on a cheap-ass race car can lead to mechanical woes! According to UDMan: Well, all the entries are still on the track, and we are in hour 4. However, there have been some close calls. Team Pro-Crass-Duh-Nation (an Alfa Romeo) was black flagged because the Battery was on FIRE. The Track Fire Department had to put it out, and the team had a spare battery, and they are now back on the track. However, Team Chard Beef Racing is now in the middle of changing out a rear end. They had a spare on their trailer, and within ½ hour are almost ready to go back onto the track. galleryPost('NE08BustedParts1', 5, 'Battery Fires And Broken Gears At LeMons New England');

It turns out that the LeMons Supreme Court did hand out a stiff penalty to at least one racer during the BS Inspection process… and whaddya know, it went to the Team Chard Beef Buick Regal ! For some inexplicable reason, a GM G-body with a so-called 307 Chevy aroused judicial suspicion, and the gavel fell hard . These guys obviously didn't read Cheating Tip #2 . But maybe it really is a 307 and these poor innocent New Englanders are getting railroaded- let's have a poll! MagicalTrevor was checking out a cruise night in Connecticut, and look what comes rumbling by: a menacing Buick Regal with vaguely steer-themed appearance, all ready to race this weekend at the 24 Hours of LeMons New England race this weekend . I won't be there (not to worry- Jalopnik's all-seeing eye will find a way to bring you coverage), but rest assured that the judges will be taking a real close look at that small-block Chevy. Make the jump for the whole gallery and to read MagicalTrevor's observations. galleryPost('24HOLNEChard', 3, 'Team Chard Beef Gears Up For LeMons New England'); Hey guys, At last night's Mark's Auto Parts Classic Cruise in East Granby, CT, one of the hopeful entrants to this weekend's LeMons event at Stafford Motor Speedway showed up with their Buick Regal-prepped by team Chard Beef Racing. It still had working lights and was temporarily registered in Connecticut, without any race numbers yet. I got a few pictures for you...
