The Saab 9-X BioHybrid Concept is allegedly more than just another far-fetched yet stylish show car. Actually, this vehicle is supposed to hint strongly at an upcoming 9-1. For now, GM claims the car is powered by a 200HP 1.4-liter turbo four-banger, with magical Swedish hippie hybrid trickery. GM also feels the need to tell us that the engine can run on E85-- as if that's even newsworthy anymore. No word on where the ignition key will go. But you know how Saab loyalists are about that extra-special quirk. Press release after the jump. galleryPost('saab9xconceptgeneva08', 6, 'Saab 9-X Hybrid'); Saab 9-X BioHybrid: Boosting Efficiency in Compact Design and Performance The Saab 9-X BioHybrid concept is a vivid vision of what a future compact car from Saab could look like. The Giugiaro folks have been teasing us for days with cropped crap shots of the Quaranta concept car they'll be revealing at the Geneva Motor Show next week. Now we've got a set of press photos of the edgy wedge that's been four decades in the coming in all of its full glory. Oh, and we told you it'd be greener around the gills, but did we tell you it's getting Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive? No? Well it will. Again we must tell you -- look, but don't touch. We wouldn't want you to hurt yourself on all those sharp pointy parts. Full commentary from the boys at World Car Fans after the jump. galleryPost('GiugiaroQuarantaPress', 6, 'Giugiaro Quaranta Concept Revealed'); "The Italian design house used Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive to power their idea of a futuristic super car employing state-of-the-art F1 technology. We've been saying for years the only efficient hybrid with current technology is one mated to a diesel engine, and now it looks like another automaker is jumping into the conceptual fray. Our little news yesterday on the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics X5 -- translated from Bruce, that appears to be an X5 outfitted with a 2.0-liter twin turbo common rail diesel mild hybrid (wow, that's a mouthful, ain't it?) -- appears to be wholly true. BMW will be revealing this little concept in environmentally friendly CUV-ing at the Geneva Motor Show next month and they've now seen fit to reveal the rest of their press shots and the full press release, which we've got below the jump. Feel free to read through it if you're suffering from a strong desire to fall back into bed. For now, here's the gist of it -- hybrid + diesel + BMW = Over 100 HP per liter (total of 204 HP), 295 lb-ft of torque between 2000 and 2500 RPM. Exciting, isn't it? galleryPost('BMWVisionX5Geneva'...
