While we're all eagerly awaiting the return of the Delorean , take a gander at Renault's Megane Coupe concept that introduces "dragonfly wing" doors that seems a hell of a lot like the gull-wing style doors of the Delorean DMC-12 that Marty McFly and the Doc drove right into my heart. It's alright, imiation is the sincerest form of flattery, right? Regardless, these doors are only a minor part of what is known as the Renault Megane Coupe Concept. galleryPost('renaultmeganecoupe', 3, 'Renalt Megane Coupe Concept'); Like most concepts, this one is also loaded to the gills with futuristic features and designs. It looks mighty futuristic and sexy, but would anybody actually drive this thing? I don't think I could bear with myself entering and exiting the car with the dragonfly style doors. It would just feel too douchebaggy. MÉGANEGANE COUPÉ CONCEPT: AN EXTREME EXPRESSION OF CHARACTER AND DYNAMISM Renault has chosen the Geneva Motor Show to take the...

We were confused and astounded at the claim of a soft top on the Webasto LigHT Concept weighing in at a mere 28 lb., so we decided to go check it out for ourselves. Seems the innovators at Webasto made the simple into reality. They just took everything out of the top that wasn't needed. All the rollover protection is transferred to the integrated headrest roll hoops and the latches are mounted on either the windscreen or the trunk. The roof itself works sort of like one of those wood-cut snakes you played with as a kid. The ones that get rigid as it folds onto itself, and then when folded onto the trunk it lays down without argument. galleryPost('webastolightgeneva', 12, 'Webasto LigHT Concept In Action At Geneva'); Seems to work pretty well as the top is pretty tough when up, but have no idea how this would work if windows got involved in the equation, or high speed, or anything a normal top has to put up with. Hey, it looks cool in profile and it has that neat super...

This is highly a conceptual design, but Webasto is going balls-to-the-wall trying to develop an ultra-light roof. The soft-top on the LigHT concept weighs in at a very low 28 pounds. The designers, the Italian Istituto Europeo di Design, is calling this the "roof of the future," which may be a bit of an overstatement, but regardless having a 28 pound soft-top is pretty nice. galleryPost('webastolight', 3, 'Webasto LigHT Concept'); The roof is made a new mixture of materials capable of the lightened weight. The car itself was inspired by the Fiat 124 Sport Spider from the 1970s. The Webasto LigHT concept will be shown off at the Geneva Motor Show. [ Tuvie ]

The slow strip tease is over and the Pininfarina Sintesi is finally unveiled for all to see. We first caught the Sintesi a couple of weeks ago when most of the conceptual mechanical details were set free, now we know what things really look like. Sporting not one, but two sets of scissor doors, the Sintesi is practically an homage to street racing hooligans everywhere. Granted the fuel cell and heads up display technology in the Sintesi makes the average bad custom car look like it was crafted in the stone age. We're looking forward to seeing the car when we head over to the land of chocolate and blonds for the upcoming Geneva Auto Show. Even though we still don't like it that Hyundai got rid of it's HCD concept series, we are consoled with its replacement series - HED. It seems the Hyundai HED-5 will be bowing at the upcoming Geneva Auto Show with a full accoutrement of gadgets expected on a modern concept vehicle. Within the press release, we see plans to unveil a revised Sonata, the updated Euro only Matrix, and the 6 passenger HED-5 Concept. We're sure it will be sporting some form of eco-conscious materials on the inside, and hybrid this with a long range that and a sustainable something or other. To be honest, all of these ecologically minded concepts have grown tiresome. When someone brings something revolutionary to market, we'll stand up and take notice. Until then, consider us on permanent yawn mode. galleryPost('hyundaiHED5', 3, 'Hyundai HED-5 Concept Drawings'); Offenbach - Feb. 11, 2008 - At the Geneva International Motor Show, Hyundai Motor Co. will present two new production...

We don't know if these images from World Car Fans are official sketches, but they look pretty darn certifiably real to us. The concept, rumored to be coming to the 2008 Geneva Motor Show , is supposedly a lightly disguised production version of the Euro Spec 5 door Lancer Ralliart. The car will undoubtedly be powered by the same 240 hp turbocharged four banger we get here in the states with the all wheel drive gadgetry and active yaw controllers thrown in for good measure. We'll look for more info as this develops. [ Carscoop via WorldCarFans ] galleryPost('mitprototypes', 3, 'Mitsubishi Lancer Prototype S Sketches');
