The Nissan Denki Cube Concept is something you've probably already seen. In fact, you probably saw it this morning when we caught the electric Nissan Cube sunning itself in advance of its press conference. What did we learn at the press conference? Fleet-use electric vehicles by 2010 and commercial vehicles by 2012. The big news is that the LA Auto Show this fall will see the introduction of the next generation Cube for the North American market. Press release, pictures of the Denki Cube and shots of two rather unfortunately customized Cubes below. galleryPost('nissancubeel', 3, 'Electric Cube'); galleryPost('nissancubeec', 3, 'Ecletic Cubes'); Nissan's "Denki Cube" Electric Vehicle Concept Brings Distinctive Spirit Into Play in New York Auto Show Debut New York City is about to get a lesson in what happens when geography meets geometry - specifically, when the world, which is round, meets the Nissan Cube, which is essentially square. The...

The 2009 Nissan Maxima hasn't exactly been a well kept secret. For instance, we already saw the new Nissan Maxima unofficially prepping itself for its moment in the sun. The big news with the new Maxima, other than it's drastic styling change, is the new "sporty" direction. What does this actually mean? Shorter track and wheel-base than it's rather bloated predecessor. A refined 290-hp VQ V6 and a new Xtroonic CVT with paddle shifting. The new Maxima will arrive this summer with the two trim models: Maxima S and SV. galleryPost('nissanmaxnyc', 6, 'Sporty Sedan Sporty Sedan'); All-New 2009 Nissan Maxima Recaptures Its Place as the True "4-Door Sports Car" Premium Performance Sedan The 2009 Nissan Maxima, which makes its world debut at the 2008 New York International Auto Show, marks a return to the longtime Nissan flagship sedan's roots as a commanding 4-door sports car - a vehicle that is unique in both appearance and driving feel, with...

We've already shown you photos of the 2009 Nissan Maxima , in all its funky weirdness. Now we have live shots of the latest version of Nissan's flagship, looking as shapely as it did in the 2009 Maxima spy shots . You would think they'd wait to clean the cars and do their dry runs before Jalopnik shows up. While it's got better proportions than that the outgoing Maxima, dead on the from the front it's definitely... unique. From the side it's an obvious improvement, with a more refined and luxurious look than Maximas past. We haven't gotten under the hood yet, but we expect VQ goodness. galleryPost('09maximasneak', 6, 'You Are Not Supposed To See This'); We also hear poorly substantiated rumors of a diesel engine. We'll believe that when we smell it.

Those press event rehearsals are always causing trouble as us bothersome bloggers just want to see the shiny, so we don't miss a beat. We heard about the Nissan Denki Cube Concept at the last minute, and today we see it with our own one lens. The all-electric anti-symmetry Nissan is outfitted with a trick hidden "fuel door" and the loudest yellow interior you've ever seen. Tweety would feel pale in there. Anyway, we'll bring you more information on the dinky Denki when the event comes around for reals. galleryPost('denkicube', 12, 'All Electric Nissan Denki Cube Peeks Before Show');

Nissan is planning on sticking a finger in the eye of every fuel cell and hybrid toting automaker at next weeks' New York Auto Show when they unveil the Nissan Denki Cube. The all-electric Denki is named for the Japanese word for electric and will be trumping the other manufacturers in its earth friendly marketing campaigning. Nissan has already claimed they will bring an EV to market by 2010 and if the Cube is the candidate, we'll welcome it. The ones we saw while abroad during the Tokyo Auto Show were cool as hell and we wouldn't mind seeing something like them stateside, even if they are silent and don't burn dinosaur juice.
