Paul, Sr. and Paul, Jr., Teutul, of Orange County Choppers and American Chopper fame, were around to introduce the new Challenger . As far as celeb/car introduction pairings go, this one was mostly inoffensive and made some sort of sense as this car will be popular with those buying a third car as a way to blow some disposable income, which are the same people that buy custom bikes. Unfortunately, it lacked the uncomfortable sexuality of old people and Amerigasm potential of previous introductions. galleryPost('doanepaulteutulsrpaulteutuljr', 3, 'The Teutuls Shill For Challenger');

newVideoPlayer("ChallengerLIVE_jalopnik.flv", 475, 269,""); Here it is! ...again. The 2008 Dodge Challenger . But this time we have video! And mustaches! Hoo, mamma! galleryPost('doanechallengersrt8reveal', 9, '2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 Live Shots');We'd have to label all this Challenger material we've been posting, Posting! POSTING!!! of late some kind of steady build to this cargasmic moment. Obviously, with previous coverage, you've been forced to ponder, perhaps question some of the performance data, skeptically consider the Challenger's true aerial capabilities, and of course study many, many still pictures. But now you can just kick back and watch as we inaugurate the Challenger Channel.

Viva la revolution! After years of looking at spy photos , renderings and concept versions &mdash the 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 is here, for real. Powered by the 6.1-liter HEMI V8, this HEMI orange muscle car puts out 425 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque. for a total of 69.8 horsepower per liter. How fast is it? Good question. The performance "targets" were a 0-60 mph time in the low fives, a quarter-mile in less than 14 seconds, at least 0.88 g's on the skidpad and a 60-0 mph stopping time of about 110 feet. However, you -- like us -- are waiting to see the actual performance numbers to see how close they got to the targets. To make the SRT8 trackworthy, engineers employed a multilink short and long arm suspension up front. In the back, the Challenger sports a five-link independent suspension with multiple bushings, allowing it to be tuned for ride or comfort. It's your choice of tires on the forged aluminum 20-inch wheels that will be keeping the 4,140-lb monster...

Yup, more evidence that the Muscle Car Wars are on! After we showed you that single shot of the new 2010 Ford Mustang interior and after we ran the two covers Car & Driver saw slip out way too early, we happened upon the above shot of the interior for the 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T on a few of the forums all about the new muscle car from the Ram-headed brand. So what do we see? Well -- we see a lot of standard instrument panels, radio units and HVAC controls. But check out that silver plastic around the instrument cluster. Most importantly, check out that leather-and-chrome wrapped shifter. Now that we like. Click the jump to see a larger shot and remember, we'll be bringing you coverage of the official reveal live in just two weeks at the Chicago Auto Show . galleryPost('2008ChallengerSRT8Snow', 6, 'Spy Photos - 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8');

The buff boys over at the buff book named Car und Driver appear to be needing some crucial reader input on their April issue. They, or a duly-sworn representative, appear to have taken it upon themselves to send out some versions of their cover to a small clinic group of readers to determine which shots should get the limelight of being an actual C&D cover. What's really funny to us is we remember overhearing a conversation involving Editor-in-Chief Csabe Csere at Narita Airport in the Northwest Worldclub waiting for our flight back from the Tokyo Auto Show. Csaba was loudly proclaiming how his publication is very careful with embargoed information, never -- ever -- letting outsiders have access to covers. We also remember hearing him say that other outlets (in the case being talked about, it was Motor Trend 's accidental embargo breach on the Nissan GT-R) need to be more careful with covers that reveal sensitive information -- and that Car & Driver doesn't ever run...

var digg_url = 'http://digg.com/autos/Production_2008_Dodge_Challenger_SRT_8_fully_uncovered_2'; Apparently anything Chevy can do, Dodge thinks they can do better. Just as quickly as "Maximum" Bob Lutz revealed he'd be revealing the cover off the 2009 Chevy Camaro during testing, Dodge lifted the skirt off the Challengers out testing in the winter wonderland of Metro Detroit. Like this silver and black Dodge Challenger SRT8 caught for the first time completely undisguised before it's official Chicago Auto Show debut at the beginning of next month. Full report from the spy shooters at KGP below the jump. More pictures coming shortly. UPDATE: Full gallery added below. galleryPost('2008ChallengerSRT8Snow', 6, 'Spy Photos - 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT-8'); We just caught the first completely uncamouflaged prototype for the Dodge Challenger running outside of the Chrysler Tech Center. Perhaps with the Media days of the Detroit Auto Show officially behind...

Although we already broke the detail photos of the 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 to you first two days ago, it now seems "The New Chrsyler" has deemed it safe to get in the act. Dodge has gone and revealed the same shots today -- only this time in high resolution. So check the photos out below in their full glory -- and note again the crossbar-delete option they've added since the concept car design. We'll of course be there live to see the official unveiling at the Chicago Auto Show in just two months. galleryPost('08DodgeChallengerSRT8D', 5, '2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 Official Detail Photos');

Dodge just issued a release exclaiming how excited they are over all of the excitement for the Dodge Challenger SRT8 (yes, the same Challenger we just revealed the first detail shots of earlier today, and first to show you a commercial on last week ) -- an excitement instigated by their release of pricing for said muscle car earlier this week. In fact they've already had a whole 6,000 folks drop a deposit down since Monday, with 4,300 slapping their piggy bank on the table on the first day alone. They're also claiming that they'll be revealing some form of "eye candy" later this week. All of this is fine and good -- and we'll even let them slide for using our service-marked and patent pending phrase " Muscle Car Wars " at the end of the release below the jump without charging them the usual $2 per use we normally charge. Ain't we a nice buncha guys? galleryPost('DodgeChallenger', 3, '2008 Dodge Challenger Concept'); 2006 Dodge Challenger...

So there's what appear to be scans of a Dodge dealer pamphlet for the 2008 Challenger and Challenger SRT8 making its way around the internet. While some of the shots in the scans appear to show off the concept vehicle (the tiny words that say "concept vehicle shown" are the dead giveaway), some of the detail photos appear to show off a non-concept front-end, fuel cap, badging and rims. Although we won't know for sure until the Chicago Auto Show in just a couple of months -- what say you? galleryPost('2008DodgeChallengerDealer', 6, 'Dodge Challenger Dealer Pamphlet');( Hat tip to Colton ) [via Allpar ]

newVideoPlayer("DodgeChallengerCommercial_gawker.flv", 475, 276); Oh yeah baby, the Muscle Car Wars (patent pending) are totally on now and Dodge is showing it -- revealing both a new commercial for the new muscle car that declares simply "It's On!" and then by dropping a pricing of $37,995 on the limited-edition, top of the line and 6.1-liter Hemi-powered 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 . The new pony car from the brand with the horns will come in three colors, black, silver or Hemi orange and they'll begin taking orders on the new Hemi hotness starting December 3rd. Now that would make a "December to Remember." We're totally declaring Monday a Jalopnik muscle car holiday. Full press release after the jump and we'll be seeing the official unveil in person in just a couple of months at the Chicago Auto Show. galleryPost('DodgeChallenger', 9, 'Dodge Challenger'); Dodge Announces Pricing for All-new 2008 Challenger SRT8® Dodge Challenger...
