This is Down On The Street Bonus Edition , where we check out interesting street-parked cars located in places other than the Island That Rust Forgot . Today we're venturing up to the state capitol, where Alan Galbraith- the man responsible for Billetproof - spotted this '77 Arrow, parked right across the street from his '76 "Hurst Edition" AMC Pacer. Now, we don't have any proof that Arnold hisself drives this car when he wants to be inconspicuous, but what better choice could there be? The rebadged Mitsubishi Celeste has governor-grade style, yet doesn't scream for attention. galleryPost('DOTSBESactoArrow', 3, 'Plymouth Arrow Down On The Sacramento Street'); DOTS FAQ

This is Down On The Street Bonus Edition , where we check out interesting street-parked cars located in places other than the Island That Rust Forgot . We Americans often forget that The General's Chevette was sold all over the world (as an Opel Kadett, Isuzu Gemini, or Pontiac Acadian), and the version built in New Zealand was badged as a Vauxhall Chevette . Fine car, to be sure, but the decades have not been easy on the Chevette and few survive. However, Wheels Of Satan has found this pretty straight example on the street in Christchurch and photographed it for us. Is it just me, or do those wheels look like they came from a 70s MGB? Make the jump to read Wheels Of Satan's observations. galleryPost('DOTSBENZChevette', 3, 'Vauxhalll Chevette Down On The Christchurch Street'); dood, and also saw this glorified chevette DOTS in christchurch.. the question is why put the antitheft bar on it... who would steal this POS?? i reckon the real sheepskin seatcovers are worth...

This is Down On The Street Bonus Edition , where we check out interesting street-parked cars located in places other than the Island That Rust Forgot . I just got back from Denver, where I photographed a few cool old cars parked on the street, including a very nice early Mini… but you don't get to see that today. Instead, you get something even better! Denver-based Kitt and EJacobs continue to send in good stuff found in their neighborhoods (south and northwest Denver, respectively), and today we'll be admiring a trio of vintage Detroit wagons that continue to remind us that SUVs didn't always reign supreme in the family-hauling department. Make the jump for many, many photos. galleryPost('DOTSBEDenverWagonsTop', 6, 'Vintage Detroit Wagons Down On The Denver Street Part 1'); The Olds and Plymouth wagons were shot by Kitt . galleryPost('DOTSBEDenverWagonsOlds', 29, '1966 Oldsmobile Wagon Down On The Denver Street'); galleryPost('DOTSBEDenverWagonsPly'...

This is Down On The Street Bonus Edition , where we check out interesting street-parked cars located in places other than the Island That Rust Forgot . You know those movies about the scattered survivors of a heinous plague? Here's a machine that's emerged victorious- though hardly unscathed- from repeated assaults by the dreaded Yersina Rustis . 72Riv spotted this Cressida in Winona Lake, Indiana, a region in which most Malaise Era Japanese cars dissolved like a serial killer's victims in a basement quicklime pit- not that I'd know anything about that- and shot some nice photos and video for us. Jump away for more. galleryPost('DOTSBEINCressida', 3, 'Early Toyota Cressida Down On The Indiana Street'); Today I ran across this old, first gen Toyota Cressida (circa '77-'80). I thought it would fit the DOTS Bonus Edition. I took some photos and some video of it I always find the old pre '80s Japanese steel to be interesting. They were still feeling...

This is Down On The Street Bonus Edition , where we check out interesting street-parked cars located in places other than the Island That Rust Forgot . Today we've got some shots by Project Car Hell Poster Child and serial tipster Franzouse , whose Paris wanderings led him to this riot-proof Kadett. Is Franzouse channeling the spirit of former Alameda High School student and current- in fact, permanent - Paris resident, Jim Morrison, with all these Alameda-grade DOTSBE finds? Make the jump to see all the photos and read his description of this fine piece of German automotive craftsmanship. galleryPost('DOTSBEKrackKadett', 7, 'Krack Kadett Down On The Paris Street'); Went for a walk yesterday, daytime for once, and I wound up in a neighborhood I usually stay away from, the champs Elysées. Attempting to steer away from that pickpocket cesspool, I veered off and found myself on the Avenue Gabriel, which borders the back wall of the garden of the President's Elysée Palace...

One side benefit of going to a 24 Hours Of LeMons race is getting to check out the interesting machinery that drivers and spectators use as personal transportation. We've seen the Caddy Wagon , the Audi Fox wagon , and so on . Houston had an Avanti and an orange Shelby Cobra, but what really had jaws dropping was this pair of '72 Lincolns. One is owned by an MSR track employee and boasts a 500+ horsepower 460, and the other is a recent purchase by Sajeev Mehta Doctor V8, who was in town to race the Mad Cow Motorsports 240Z. Make the jump to check out the whole gallery. galleryPost('LT08Lincolns', 6, 'Dual 1972 Mark IVs Down On The LeMons Street'); DOTS FAQ

Because I've become obsessed with finding at least one semi-focused shot of the pair of Fiat 128s my parents bought in the early 1970s (when the 128 was the cheapest new four-door sold in America), I've been spending a lot of time digging through boxes of hopelessly jumbled family photos. No Fiat photos yet, but I did find this DOTSBE Vintage Edition shot, nominally of my grandmother- sporting some really cool cateye glasses- posing in front of some cable cars in San Francisco, but the real subject of this image is a new BMW 2002… and is that a Fiat dealership in the background? What other wonders may be seen here? Make the jump to find out! galleryPost('HydeBeach1973', 3, 'Hyde And Beach 1973'); Yes indeed, that's a big FIAT sign down Hyde Street. Who knows, maybe that's the very dealership at which the legendary Martin family 128s (which lasted about three years apiece) were purchased! The photograph is dated October 1973 and was shot on Hyde Street, facing...

While at the Motoring J Style show in May, I spotted an amazingly original Datsun 510 two-door parked in the exhibition hall. Turns out it was owned by David Swig, the guy in charge of the event, and now I've managed to get him to bring the car to the former Alameda Naval Air Station (where they now make absinthe ) for some photos. The car was purchased from its original owner, who always garaged it and for many years drove it just once a month or so; this Datsun is solid Compare its condition to that of most 510s, which have spent their lives in glorious clouds of tire smoke and- all too often- wrapped around telephone poles! galleryPost('OrangeDatsun510', 6, '1973 Datsun 510');

This is Down On The Street Bonus Edition , where we check out interesting street-parked cars located in places other than the Island That Rust Forgot . After the Shark and Minnow Midget/Continental combo, it only seemed right to share some photos of another street-parked Midget (ideally, one not overshadowed by some monster land yacht), and Kitt has shot such a car for us in her South Denver neighborhood. This one's for sale, and instead of a price it's got a printout of the NADA Guides retail value; hey, it's worth a try! I've done a fair amount of Midget driving, and they're a lot of fun… provided you carry every tool you own in the boot- you'll need 'em, thanks to the one-two punch of Lucas Electrics and SU carbs- and don't mind the disconcerting experience of viewing the undersides of truck trailers on the freeway. galleryPost('DOTSBEDenverMidget', 6, '1973 MG Midget Down On The Denver Street'); DOTS FAQ

This is Down On The Street Bonus Edition , where we check out interesting street-parked cars located in places other than the Island That Rust Forgot . Today we're going to show that old GM cars don't always dissolve into reddish stains on the pavement, even in a damp climate like the Pacific Northwest. Zeet has photographed this pair of very solid-looking examples of The General's products for us; note that all eight hubcaps are still present! galleryPost('DOTSBEOlyGMs', 3, '1963 Pontiac Bonneville And 1974 Chevrolet Nova Down On The Olympia Street'); DOTS FAQ

This is Down On The Street Bonus Edition , where we check out interesting street-parked cars located in places other than the Island That Rust Forgot . Of all the vehicles you expect to see parked on the street in Copenhagen, a late-70s IHC Scout II is probably way down near the bottom of the list. Yet Kim of Copenhagen has spotted this '78 or '79 Scout II on Oehlenschlægergade Street. As an added bonus, we get one of the meanest-looking Saab 96 survivors in the world. Jump away to see all the photos and read Kim's description. galleryPost('DOTSBECopenhagenIHCSaab', 3, 'Scout And Saab Down On The Copenhagen Street'); Econoboxes like Seats and Ladas rule my in-the-process-of-being-gentrified Copenhagen neighbourhood of Vesterbro, but a few interesting cars live here too. Like the International on the attached picture. Please note a few days' worth of parking tickets on the windshield. The CH sticker on the back is for Switzerland, but the license plates are...

Toronto-based reader Peter found us a Vauxhall Velox in a snowdrift over the winter, and now the warm weather has brought out this mid-70s Alfa Romeo Giulia Nouva Super 1600 from wherever it hides during the extremely un-Mediterranean Toronto winters. galleryPost('DOTSBETorontoAlfaNuovo', 3, 'Alfa Romeo Nuova Super 1600 Down On The Toronto Street');

When you spot a Citroën SM parked in front of a Starbucks in the San Fernando Valley (also known as the Pornography Capitol Of The Universe) and it's nighttime , what do you do? I'd set a huge gas-soaked tire fire on the pavement to provide enough light for photography, but LateralGPhotography had the gear and the chops to get some great photos just with ambient lighting. Make the jump to see the whole gallery and get a Valley Bonus! galleryPost('DOTSBEWHSM', 3, 'Citroen SM Down On The West Hills Street');

We've seen some pretty cool machinery parked on the street and photographed by Jalopnik readers, but here's one that may raise the bar to a new level. Spotted parked on a dirt road in West Oxfordshire by reader Battles, this Porsche sure does look like the real deal . Make the jump to read Battles' description. galleryPost('DOTSBEUKCarreraRS', 6, '1973 Porsche 911 Down On The West Oxfordshire Street'); While you guys were publishing some amazing DOTS finds on the site on Sunday, I had my own 'slam on the brakes-where's my camera?' moment. I was driving through a village in West Oxfordshire, about 80 miles outside of London, when it caught my eye. The off road parking appeared to be to take advantage of the shade but it could be down to lack of space on the drive due to presence of a 996 Targa, Bentley Conti GT and an E61 M5 estate. It looks like a legit Carrera RS, probably the Touring model though I'm not positive. The paint finish was really...

Now we're going to head west, way west, to New Westminster, B.C., where this Malaise Firebird still makes the ground shake with its 145-horse 305 (or 105-horse Buick V6). Thanks to Anthony , who also brought us the Datsun 710 wagon . Make the jump to read Anthony's description and see the complete gallery. galleryPost('DOTSBENWFirebird', 9, 'Malaise Firebird Down On The New Westminster Street'); Thanks for posting my pictures of the Datsun 710. Attached are the long promised pictures of Jim Rockford's Firebird. This is a 77 or a 78, I don't know which, but I know where Angel hid Jim's car! The car is in New Westminster, BC in the Queens Park area, a neighbourhood of Victorian era heritage homes.
