I had a chance to talk with David Rojas and Robert Jablonski, the exterior and interior designers of the Hummer HX Concept with one question on the table: What's the link between the HX and the Warthog from Halo? The answer wasn't as clear as I was hoping. I couldn't get either of the twentysomething designers to admit that the HX was inspired in any least bit by the Warthog from Halo, but I think I can still make a case, even though GM has already openly denied any kind of a link between the two. Unlike the pictures we saw earlier , the doors and the rear hatch roof were now removed on the vehicle I checked out, which made the HX look even more familiar and justified my relentless drilling of the designers about Halo. I fully expected Rojas and Jablonski to quickly deny any kind of link--but the l level of denial was stunning. Not only did Rojas quickly shoot down even the slightest bit of speculation, he was adamant, repeatedly stating the he neither owns an Xbox nor plays...

Modestly described as "the ultimate family vehicle," the Nissan Forum Concept is pretty much a rolling home away from home. This capacious vehicle features a couple key features to accommodate any growing brood. My favorite option is the "Time Out" button located on the steering wheel. It will terminate the broadcast of all types of media and entertainment being consumed in the backseat. Kids acting up? Turn that Hannah Montana diva off for good! Parents can monitor their offspring (as well as anything else they might be transporting) with a nanny cam integrated into the roof above the center console. No longer will Dad have to look over his shoulder while simultaneously parallel parking and frantically BlackBerrying. The center console microwave is perplexing. My apartment smells for days after simply popping popcorn--I can't imagine what a few dozen chicken nuggets would do to "that new car smell." Oh well, at least the center row of seats can spin to...

Remember the Opel Flextreme that was shown off at Frankfurt? Yeah, here it is again, except it is now branded as a Saturn. GM started things out right by not charging the Flextreme enough and requiring a couple people push it up a ramp to be displayed. Other than that minor incident, the Flextreme shined like the little electrical concept that could. With the help of GM's E-Flex technology, the Flextreme can inch across 34 miles solely on electric power. Similar to the Plug-In Vue , the Flextreme can also recharge via a 110V standard electrical outlet. A 1.3-liter turbo diesel engine helps the E-Flex system chug along. galleryPost('flextremeexteriordas', 6, 'Saturn Flextreme Concept Exterior'); galleryPost('saturnflextremeinteriordas', 6, 'Saturn Flextreme Concept Interior'); galleryPost('saturnflextremepics', 6, 'Saturn Flextreme Concept Pictures'); galleryPost('FlextremeSegway', 6, 'Segway-Eating Flextreme');

This be it, folks. Months ago Chrysler's former PR honcho, Jason Vines, talked about the future and blah blah, and two months later we have finally gotten a chance to see the Chrysler ecoVoyager , Dodge Zeo and Jeep Renegade concepts. We gave you all of the details earlier today and showed off Chrysler's oh-so-glorious press pictures, but our photo handiman got to see these things in person and here they be. My impressions? Uglier in person -- all of them. galleryPost('jeeprenegadeexteriordas', 3, 'Jeep Renegade Exterior Live Shots'); galleryPost('jeeprenegadeinteriordas', 3, 'Jeep Renegade Interior Live Shots'); galleryPost('dodgezeoexteriordas', 3, 'Dodge Zeo Exterior Live Shots'); galleryPost('dodgezeointeriordas', 3, 'Dodge Zeo Interior Live Shots'); galleryPost('chryslerecovoyagerexteriordas', 3, 'Chrysler ecoVoyager Exterior Live Shots'); galleryPost('chryslerecovoyagerinteriordas', 3,...

The Jeep Renegade Concept is the third of Chrysler's concept vehicles unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show. Yes, it is the same as that Halo-looking contraption that Vines told us about, kind of, back in November. A 1.5-liter three-cylinder BLUETEC diesel engine is what this vehicle is sporting in a very green manner in addition to a 40-mile lithium ion battery. It lacks any kind of roof or enclosing feature, but that isn't anything to worry about. The minimalist interior can be hosed down and a floor-board drain prevents any kind of flooding. If you're wondering what those two cylinders are on the back -- it's scuba packs, you know, for the avid spontaneous scuba goer. galleryPost('jeeprenegadepress', 6, 'Jeep Renegade Concept Live Shots'); galleryPost('08JeepRenegadeConcept', 6, 'Jeep Renegade Concept Sketches'); BLUETEC diesel Range Extended Electric Vehicle in fun, open-air, sustainable design package A B-segment JeepĀ® concept vehicle, the...

The Dodge Zeo is the second of Chrysler's big concept releases. It is an electric capable of 250 miles on one juice. It is a four-seater that Chrysler is describing as a "2+2," since, of course, people travel in pairs. Way to split up the family, Dodge. galleryPost('dodgezeoconceptpress', 6, 'Dodge Zeo Concept Exterior'); galleryPost('dodgezeoconceptpressinterior', 6, 'Dodge Zeo Concept Interior'); galleryPost('08DodgeZEOConcept', 2, 'Dodge Zeo Concept Sketches'); Battery Electric Vehicle technology in expressive "2+2" Dodge sports car style The 2008 Dodge ZEO -- Zero Emissions Operation - concept vehicle is a four-passenger, all-electric, "2+2" sport wagon that embraces the bold, emotional characteristic of the Dodge brand. It was a couple months ago when Jason Vine put on his comedian hat to show off Chrysler's three latest concept models. This is the Chrysler ecoVoyage, an electric with a fuel cell range extender. While the design may look somewhat like a big vitamin, Chrysler says that the design is inspired from a "distinctive and elegant American design." Maybe it's time we move to Canada -- this lacks the American pizazz I'm accustomed to. galleryPost('ecovoyagerpressext', 15, 'Chrysler ecoVoyage Exterior'); galleryPost('ecovoyagerpressint', 5, 'Chrysler ecoVoyage Interior'); galleryPost('08ChryslerecoVoyagerConcept', 2, 'Chrysler ecoVoyage Concept Sketches'); Three passionate designs combine with three advanced propulsion systems. GM rolled out its Halo 3 Warthog doppelganger, the Hummer HX concept amid considerable pop and circumstance around E85 Ethanol and other green technologies. GM's sales VP Mark Le Neve introduced the concept as a vehicle that'll get the kids to put down their Wii controllers and start climbing rocks IRL. No word on production plans, but we've been expecting a Jeep Wrangler/ Toyota FJ Cruiser competitor for a while. This may be it, though likely without the chain gun and plasma pistol. galleryPost('hummerhxlive', 12, 'Hummer HX Concept Live in Detroit'); galleryPost('hxhumminterior', 8, 'Hummer HX Concept Interior Live Photos'); galleryPost('hxexterior', 6, 'Hummer HX Concept Exterior'); galleryPost('hxinterior', 6, 'Hummer HX Concept Interior');

We already knew the 2007 Buick Riviera Concept would be here for the Detroit Auto Show, but the China born concept made it's US debut here last night. Originally unveiled at Auto Shanghai 2007, the Buick Riviera Concept was shown off to press by Ed Welburn and the gang at the Max M. Fisher Theater ahead of the show. We were hoping for a green light for US production from Mr. Welburn, but nothing like that was mentioned. Oh well, we can dream can't we? Anyway, there's a press release after the jump and we'll have some fine photos of this Chinese carry out and lots of other show coverage you can follow at our Detroit Auto Show tag page. If you're more net savvy, hit up the RSS feed for your fave feed reader -- or just keep madly hitting refresh on our main page -- whatever works best for you. galleryPost('rivieradetroit', 9, '2007 Buick Riviera Concept in Detroit'); DETROIT - The Buick Riviera, a stunning concept car designed to showcase Buick's new...
