Since the motoring press is not going to get to get our hands on either the 2009 Dodge Ram or the 2009 Ford F-150 for a while we thought we'd jump the gun and do a comparison based of things we've seen and things they've told us. galleryPost('tobykeith', 3, 'Toby Keith F-150');galleryPost('2009DodgeRam1500ExtL', 3, 'Steer Humping Ram'); Best Reveal While we don't want to hate anymore on Toby Keith and his Ford Truck Man-liness, we have to give Dodge and their team for putting together such a steer humping good time . Hundreds of Longhorn cattle will trump jingoistic country music any day. ADVANTAGE DODGE RAM Most Unnecessary Press Shot We think we heard from Ford PR people at least 1,000 times that you could load a flatscreen television in the back of the F-150 with it's folding seats and roomier cabin. And while that might be a good selling point we get the fucking picture. But just in case we didn't they actually sneaked a press...

After spending part of the day with the fine folks responsible for the new 2009 Ford F-150 we've had some of our questions answered. First of all, they're not in any hurry to release the power numbers so you can stop asking, though they're going to be adding the diesel in 2010. Those wanting a manual transmission? Petition all you want, but even with gas prices going up the number of F-150's orders with a manual transmission keeps going down. Why the introduction of the Platinum Edition? According to Matt O'Leary, one of the driving forces behind the new F-150 at Ford, the King Ranch Edition "has more of a southwestern flavor" and Ford wanted something to provide "more of a Chicago or Manhattan" feel with their new truck, focusing on aluminum touches with tuxedo-stiched leather as opposed to the leatherfest that is the King Ranch. He also pointed out that they've found no maximum for luxury trucks (ahem LT) And for fans of the LOBO edition, we...

Toby Keith, the Ford Truck Man, he of the Bold Toby Keith Emissions Boot-in-Ass Emissions was on hand to introduce the new 2009 Ford F-150 pickup truck. It's a fantastic Amerigasm of our country-ism. No talk of EcoBoost or hybrid powertrains here. Later, basically everyone with a camera stormed Keith and put a camera in his face. Which was probably worth the money they paid him. USA! USA! USA! galleryPost('tobykeith', 6, 'Ford Truck Man');

The 2009 Ford F-150 has arrived and, for potential buyers, there are two major stories here other than the new frame and exterior: more standard/available features and more model variations. Now standard is the AdvanceTrack with Roll Stability Control (RSC), Trailer Sway Control, the new Tailgate w/ box side steps and the new "Easy Fuel" capless fuel-filler system that uses a a sensor to automatically seal shut when the nozzle is removed. Available on all F-150's is the SYNC system (with all goodies), new 700-watt Sony sound system, integrated trailer brake controller (segment first on light-duty pickups) and rearview camera assist. There are going to be a total of 35variations of the new F-150 (XL, STX, FX4, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch), including the new Platinum series, which adds extra detailing and chrome on the outside and features such as ash wood accents, 10-way adjustable leather captain's chairs and standard 20-inch polished aluminum wheels. galleryPost('FordF150platinum09'...
