  • 2008 D3 Cadillac CTS Track

(Signal Hill, California – September, 2008) D3 Cadillac , leading supplier of world class Cadillac high-performance and styling components announces the new 2008+ Cadillac CTS rear roof spoiler upgrade and rear deck lid spoiler upgrade. These new spoiler upgrades are made from high strength composite fiber and were designed using software that interfaces with GM. The results are durable add-ons that integrate seamlessly with the striking lines of the CTS; looking and feeling like they came straight from the factory and transforming the car’s appearance by providing a European, sporty look to a premier sedan. Available separately or as a set, these cool looking spoiler upgrades require no cutting or drilling to install. And once they’re installed the owner may want to look at D3 Cadillac ’s performance enhancing upgrades to make the car go as fast as now it looks! © Source: seriouswheels We need your comments below >>
  • 2009 Cadillac CTS-V Goes Cheap

You’ve gotta love America. When we get it right, there’s no beating us. Like Apollo. And LBJ. Or take the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V for pondering. Massive power (556, to be exact) out of a supercharged V8 that shares more than a little blood with the beating heart in the Chevorlet Corvette ZR-1 (basically the same mill, minus some fancy titanium, ECU), and decidedly stately looks. What’s not to love? With performance on par with some seriously expensive competitive German bruisers out there, most feared the bottom line on Cadillac’s new king o’ de fleet. GM just put those fears to rest with news that this ultra-sedan will come with an unbelievably subdued $59,995 price tag from the factory. Of course, you can expect a dealer raping, but that’s par for the course. © Source: autofiends We need your comments below >>
  • Can we buy Cadillac XLR for $8,000?

This week, we got the unfortunate but expected news that Cadillac is taking the XLR roadster out of production. This is disheartening news, because the XLR might be the most Cadillacky Cadillac . Especially the XLR-V . But after a little quality time with my best friend eBay Motors, I gained some perspective. Cadillac’s last stab at a 2 seat roadster, the Allante, was also a dismal failure in its day. In spite of a superb Northstar V8 and truly avant-garde styling inside and out, Americans didn’t bite. It might have been because Cadillac just didn’t have the image, or because the price flew alongside 747s. It might be because the Allante was - ugh - front wheel drive. Or, to quote my mechanic Bobby, because the Allante was “a fucking box of shit.” But still, low mileage examples (think 1991 and 60k) are rolling out of eBay Motors - already notorious for above-market pricing - for only $5,000 . That’s about a third the price of a new Honda Civic. So in 15 years, when the Honda Civic costs...
  • 2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon

(from Cadillac Press Release) Amidst the beauty and history of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Cadillac treats car enthusiasts to a world premiere of its latest production-car design. The 2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon makes its debut this weekend on the Monterey Peninsula, showcasing a dramatic design that elevates and updates the classic wagon body style. Not unlike many historic Cadillac designs, the new CTS Sport Wagon is an unmistakable and dynamic presence. The car’s intricately cut rear profile injects fashion-forward design into the formerly utilitarian world of wagons. Cadillac’s upcoming wagon offers ample interior space and includes a range of six-cylinder engine choices, making it a compelling alternative to larger utility vehicles. Based on the hot-selling CTS sport sedan, and a sister vehicle to the CTS Coupe Concept, the Sport Wagon extends the design-driven renaissance of Cadillac . Following this special premiere at Pebble Beach, the CTS Sport Wagon moves to the worldwide...

  • 2010 Cadillac CTS coupe coming to LA Auto Show

This past Saturday in Monterey, Cadillac invited a select group of journalists to see the production version of the CTS coupe. Naturally, cameras weren't allowed inside the Caddy tent to keep images leaking out ahead of the coupe's official unveiling this November at the Los Angeles Auto Show. However, a lack of pictures hasn't stopped InsideLine from going into detail about what the CTS coupe will look like when it rolls onto the stand in LA. According to the report, the coupe is virtually unchanged from its conceptual predecessor, with everything ahead of the A-pillars pulled directly from its sedan counterpart. The massive C-pillars have remained, along with the vertical taillights and steeply raked rear window. Thankfully, Cadillac saw fit to include a back-up camera to make up for the lack of rearward visibility. Production will begin next summer at GM's Lansing Grand River plant, and while GM execs remain mum on engine choices, expect the same duo of V6s available...
  • Cadillac CTS Coupe interior spied

We have already reported earlier on spy shots of the new Cadillac CTS Coupe , however this time around our photographers managed to catch a glimpse of its interior. The coupe version is speculated to carry the CTC namesake when it eventually hits production in May next year alongside the CTS sedan at the Lansing Grand River Plant in the U.S. To counter the inherent poor rear visibility, the Coupe version will feature a reversing camera which is not currently found on the sedan. It also deletes the traditional door grab in favor of a new touch pad set up instead. The overall design closely mimics the concept on which it is based, right down to the centre-exiting dual exhausts. © Source: caradvice We need your comments below >>
  • 2010 Cadillac SRX spied

Our inside sources tell us Cadillac is very close to officially debuting its 2010 SRX crossover, but they can take their sweet time now that we have these new spy shots of the Wreath and Crest CUV in nothing but some checkered tape. With all the baggy covering gone from this prototype, we can clearly see its styling closely mimics that of the Provoq Concept, which Rick Wagoner introduced at CES last January. There are a couple of areas where the realities of production have toned down the concept's flair, but the vehicle's overall shape and detail remains. Built on GM's Theta Premium platform, the new SRX replaces the old model that was larger and a surprisingly poor seller. It was surprising because the old SRX was an athletic CUV that seemed to offer on paper what buyers wanted. This new model appears to be a smidge smaller and will likely offer more fuel efficient engines and a smoother ride. © Source: autoblog We need your comments below >>
  • 2010 Cadillac BRX Crossover Spied

After mediocre success with its midsize SRX crossover, Cadillac is refocusing its efforts on the growing compact SUV segment. The 2010 Cadillac BRX , or CTX as it may be called, is a smaller two-row SUV built on a modified version of GM's midsize sedan platform. Caught testing in suburban Detroit, the Cadillac BRX looks as though it will borrow most of its design cues from the Provoq concept shown at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show. The chevron-shaped grille remains largely intact and the overall shape of the greenhouse hasn't changed. With so much camouflage over the rear end it's impossible to tell if the production version of the Cadillac BRX will get the retro tail fin lights in back like the concept; but chances are good. One element of the concept that's guaranteed not to show up is the Provoq's hydrogen fuel-cell drivetrain. In its place will be a couple of gas-burning V6s and traditional automatic transmissions. They'll send power to the front wheels most of the...
  • 2009 Cadillac XLR and XLR-V

(from General Motors Press Release) Since its inception in 2004, Cadillac's XLR has been a fresh face in the elite club of the world's finest luxury roadsters. Today Cadillac revealed the new 2009 edition of the XLR Roadster, featuring styling and model enhancements providing more dramatic design and technology. The 2009 XLR includes a new front fascia, new rear fascia and new side fender vents. The revised design is inspired by the award-winning CTS sport sedan, delivering more detail and aggressiveness to Cadillac 's roadster. The front fascia includes new fog lamps and specific upper and lower grilles for the Platinum and V-Series models. Also, both '09 models feature the distinctive hood with a raised center section that was previously exclusive to the V-Series. The updated cabin includes new instrument cluster trim rings and graphics, new wood grain trims (Natural Olive Ash Burl for XLR Platinum and Black Olive Ash Burl for XLR-V) and new metal trims (Quartz for XLR...
  • 2009 Cadillac CTS Coupe spied

These exclusive spy shots reveal a glimpse of the new Cadillac CTS Coupe undergoing testing in the US. Despite the heavy camouflage, similarities with the concept revealed at the 2008 Detroit motor show are easily identifiable. Primarily it seems to have maintained its unique integrated centre exhaust outlet, as well as a unique touch pad set-up in place of conventional door handles. The coupé will also feature a backup camera which is not currently found on the sedan. Code-named GMX226, the stylish couple will be built alongside the CTS sedan in May at the Lansing Grand River Plant in the U.S. Although there has been no official word as yet, it is highly possible Cadillac could include this model in its newly introduced Australian line-up. © Source: caradvice We need your comments below >>
  • 2008 D3 Cadillac CTS

(from D3 Press Release) 2008 Cadillac CTS – D3 Performance Exterior Package D3 Cadillac , the leader in Cadillac tuning, introduces the new 2008 Cadillac CTS Performance Exterior Package . The exterior enhancements are not only exquisitely designed styling cues integrated seamlessly, they are functional as well. The front grill has a unique jewel like cut on the stainless steel wire mesh that signifies performance & class. The additional openings in the front allow for a larger surface area to induce adequate cooling for the engine compartment. This is important when you start squeezing more performance out of this engine, as heat is a byproduct of making more power. Not only were the factory brake ducts maintained, but the front fascia also introduces double the cooling by adding an additional brake duct pick ups on each side. Notice the angled lip towards the lower edge of the front fascia. This angled edge has been designed and measured for just the right amount of down force without...
  • 2009 Cadillac XLR V-Series spy photos

After a 12-year absence, Cadillac is destined for Australia later this year under the watchful eyes of GM Premium (currently managing Saab & Hummer), and we are holding our breaths in anticipation for several hot models. This morning our American based photographer caught the new 2009 Cadillac XLR V-Series as it made its way around town. The facelifted XLR V-Series gets moderate changes to the front and rear. We can spot a wire-mesh grill with the big Cadillac badge through the camouflage. We also noticed the big fender vent covered up by the black tape – which is all new , although we’re guessing it’s a lot like the fender vent on the Provoq concept. The American photographer told us that “it was crazy fast and had a really raucous exhaust note…” so it may still continue with the current 4.4-litre, supercharged Northstar V8, good for 330kW. There is the possibility that it will get the LSA motor found in the 2009 CTSv. The LSA is the 6.2-litre, supercharged, small block V8 pumping...
  • 2010 Cadillac BRX Caught - Spy Shots

Riding on GM’s new TE (Theta-Epsilon) chassis, this new, smaller Caddy will start production in May of 2009 at the Ramos Arizpe plant. The General will look to build about 75,000 units annually. Codenamed GMT166, Cadillac will share the TE platform with Saab for the 9-4x (GMT168) that starts production in the fall of 2009. Powertrain choices will surely include the 300-hp, direct-injection 3.6-liter V-6 found in the CTS. A 2.0-liter turbodiesel variant is also in the works, however, it remains to be seen whether that model will be sold in U.S. Through the camouflage on this BRX prototype, we can see the production grill will follow the Provoq concept almost exactly, while the rear camouflage attempts to hide the true roofline - but we can tell the production greenhouse will swoop downward in the rear just as it does on the Provoq. Quite honestly, we don’t see many differences from the concept at all. It seems as if the tailfin taillights of the concept may even find their way to production...
  • 2009 Cadillac XLR-V - Spy Shots

Spy photographers have snapped the 2009 Cadillac XLR-V out testing, and it's clear that Caddy's premium hard-top convertible is getting a refresh for next year. Though the front end is obscured by covering, spy photog Chris Doane claims the grille is still wire mesh, and we presume it will be tweaked to look more like the cow-catcher grille on the CTS sedan. Also new are the vertical fender vents ahead of the doors. What we're really interested in knowing, however, is what's under the car's hood. Having heard it for himself, Doane suggests that it could be the carryover 4.4L Northstar V8 that's supercharged to make 443 hp, but our money is on the next XLR-V using the same LSA motor getting dropped into the next CTS-V. Producing 550 hp and 550 pound-feet of torque, the supercharged 6.2L small-block V8 would be a big boon for the drop-top Caddy. Without it, the XLR-V will not be much competition for convertibles from Mercedes-Benz and BMW. © Source: autoblog We need...
