  • 2008 Kicherer Audi RS-Street

(from Kicherer Press Release) With its performance and luxury, the Audi RS6 has already made it into the history book of automotive future. Nevertheless, there are still owners of this vehicle who need more than a performance of 580 hp and a torque of 650 Nm. Even the design, so they assume, might be polished up by several degrees. For customers like these, KICHERER has a handful of agreeable solutions in stock. The overall concept is called KICHERER Audi RS Street and consists of several individual components. First to mention, a from Abt developed performance optimisation resulting in 700 hp has taken place while the torque has made an incredible leap forward to 780 Nm. Consequently, the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h will take you less than 4.3 seconds. The adequate cornering capacities will be provided by a sports spring kit which has been developed exclusively for the Audi’s high-tech chassis. Moreover, lowered by 25 millimetres, the Avant looks even more gorgeous – without cutting back...
  • Audi A3 TDI in America

If you’re into oil burners, time to start praying to your personal car gods. Audi is taking a long hard look at selling their tasty A3 2.0 TDI here in the land of the free, home of the Alaskan hockey mom. The diminutive hatch comes complete with 140 horsepower and a whopping 236 lb-ft of torque, bone stock. With a little tweaking and some love from the aftermarket industry, the car shouldn’t have a problem hopping the 200 horsepower mark, making for a hella fun ride that’s still capable of 40 mpg when you’re just cruising down the highway. Audi is naturally wary of America’s fear of anything diesel powered, but federal tax breaks should help take care of that. © Source: autofiends We need your comments below >>

  • 2009 Audi TT RS Spied

Work is under way to develop the hottest ever version of Ingolstadt’s sports coupe, likely to be badged TT RS. It promises to be a real alternative to the Porsche Cayman when it goes on sale in late 2008 in Europe. The TT RS will use a 2.5-litre in-line five-cylinder petrol unit, ten years since Audi last used a similarly designed engine. Early reports indicate that Audi will boost performance to hefty 260kW using twin sequential turbochargers. This entire grunt will be channelled through Audi ’s permanent 4WD quattro system and a six-speed manual ‘box, though the DSG dual-clutch system will also be available as an option. Expect a sporty styling with bespoke wheels, alloy-effect door mirrors, aggressive bumpers, RS-batches on the brakes and sill extensions. Volkswagen’s new 210kW 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine, lined up for a hot version of Volkswagen’s Passat, will be released at the same time in a more refined form, to replace the 3.2-litre V6 currently powering the range-topping TT . ©...

  • 2009 ABT Audi Q5

(from ABT Sportsline Press Release) When the engineers and designers with ABT Sportsline intend to tune an SUV, you can be sure that the result will be an extraordinary vehicle. That has been the case with the Touareg, AS7 and Tiguan - and that will be continued with the new ABT Q5 . The elegant crossover vehicle is by concept a premium model in the category of compact SUVs, but "such a wonderful car always spurs us to create something really special," says Hans-Jrgen Abt. The managing director of ABT Sportsline emphasizes that it is about "blending our philosophy with the character of the car." With the ABT Q5, this worked perfectly: The Allgu SUV is fast, beefy, sleek, extravagant, extremely versatile - and therefore evokes five wows. The ABT Q5 is impressing, harmonic and superior from every angle. The front skirt with the integrated underride protection finds its equivalent in the rear skirt, which, in a very elegant way, also hides the tow bar extendable for use...
  • Audi R8 Spider Spied

The convertible version of Audi ’s R8 supercar has been spotted testing in Germany without a hint of camouflage material. These latest images of the test car reveal that the new convertible will gain a conventional fabric roof but misses out on the R8’s trademark aluminium side blades. Other major changes for the new Spider that are expected to make it to production will be additional air intakes located behind the seats as well as a pair of safety roll-over bars. The placement of the fuel filler cap will also be changed due to the missing rear pillars, while changes under the sheetmetal will likely include extra chassis strengthening. While the base model will likely stick with the hard-top’s 420hp (313kW) 4.2L V8 engine, there’s talk that Audi may shoehorn the 5.2L V10 from the S6 and S8 sports-saloons into a mid-level model and reserve the 5.0L twin-turbo V10 from the RS6 for a high-performance RS-variant. The differences between it and the standard V8 model will extend beyond just horsepower...
  • 2009 Audi RS5 Begins Testing in Death Valley – Spied

Not that the Audi S5 isn't fastest enough, but another 100 horsepower or so might make it the best coupe on the planet. Looks like we'll get our wish soon enough as spy photographers caught what looks to be an Audi RS5 testing in Death Valley. It has a more aggressive front end and a larger set of 265/35ZR19 tires too. The signature oval exhaust tips aren't there, but that's probably just a temporary attempt to confuse onlookers. Our hope is that those exhaust pipes are connected to the same 580-hp V10 found in the RS6 sedan. Expect to hear an official announcement by the end of the year. © Source: edmunds We need your comments below >>
  • 2009 Audi A5

    - Base Price: $41,600 - Body Style: Coupe - Performance & Efficiency: 3,197 cc 3.2 liters V 6 front engine with 84.5 mm bore, 92.8 mm stroke, 12.5 compression ratio, double overhead cam, variable valve timing/camshaft and four valves per cylinder. Premium unleaded fuel 91. Rebates & Incentives: 36 Month Finance Rate: N/A; 48 Month Finance Rate: N/A New Audi Q5 combines Audi's trademark single frame grille with clean surfaces. Subtle fender flares hint at the A5 from some angles, and the roofline is one of the lowest in the segment. The Q5 is built off the same architecture as the new A4 sedans and wagons and the A5 coupes. That means longitudinal engines, and a Quattro drive system with 60 percent of the torque directed to the rear wheels in normal driving. The longitudinal engines bit is important because that means the Q5 can run anything from an inline-four to a V-8 under the hood, like the A4/A5. For the U.S., however, the Q5 will initially be available only with Audi 's...
  • Audi R8 test drive ends with a swim

There have got to be cheaper ways to go for a swim, but one driver apparently couldn't find one. The 33-year-old Dutch man from the town of Woerden in the Netherlands went by his local Audi dealership to check out a brand spankin' new R8 supercar... and then proceeded to drive it into the nearest river. The driver was reportedly speeding – 80 mph according to police, but closer to 125 if you ask some of the bystanders – in a 50 zone when he hit a bump, lost control and skidded into a dyke. Although local law enforcement authorities are reportedly investigating the incident, nobody was hurt. The same cannot be said, sadly, for the car, which is reportedly in a repair shop where the dealer's insurance company will surely declare it a write-off. After Intersection magazine gave another Audi product the treatment by lowering it into a swimming pool in England – the same one that Jeremy Clarkson drove a Rolls-Royce into, by the looks of things – we can't help but wonder and worry...

  • Audi RS5 not just LED lights

Audi , with the current interest surrounding its brand, is preparing itself with the lovely A5, adding the letters “ RS ” and reflecting the masterpieces that have recently emerged from the German company, such as the RS4, the R8 or the V10 RS6. The challenge to the M3 is far more explicit now, with both V8 high revs, coupès and twin-clutch shift, but the true revolution is in the traction with BMW choosing rear wheel, and Audi splashing out into all-wheel drive. New information on this ferocious coupè arrives from Ingoldstat and Autozeitung. The car won’t have much in common with the more easygoing S5, though some technical aspects will be the same. As with what occurred with the S4 and the RS4 B7, the two models in the future will be quite distinct. The RS should be more sincere but radical, compared to an S, and the lowered body, 20-inch wheels and nasty looking air intakes attest to this. While on one hand the overall mass increases, on the other the weight decreases through an intelligent...
