  • Mercedes-Benz F-Cell Roadster

  • 2010 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

After tuning and then building Mercedes-Benz performance cars for more than 40 years, for the first time in its history AMG is set to unveil an all-new model developed exclusively in-house. The forthcoming Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG super sports car will revive the iconic ‘Gullwing’ namesake, boasting an aluminium spaceframe body and extensively tuned V8 front-mounted engine to deliver uncompromising performance. The finely-tuned 6.3-litre, V8 engine in the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG achieves a peak output of 420kW at 6800rpm - compared to 336kW in the C63 AMG - and 650Nm at 4750rpm, making it one of the most powerful sports cars in its segment with a power-to-weight ratio of just 2.84kg/hp. Initial performance tests have revealed the new ‘Gullwing’ accelerates from zero to 100km/h in 3.8 seconds, before going on to a top speed of 315km/h. To reach these new heights in power, AMG employed an all-new intake system, reworked valve train and camshafts, the use of flow-optimised tubular steel headers...
  • Mercedes-Benz S-Class BlueHybrid

On the face of it, a hybrid Mercedes-Benz S-Class shouldn't exist. If anyone wants a slightly-more-economical-than-usual luxury car, they should buy a fractionally smaller (but still pretty ritzy in the overall scheme of things) luxury car like an E-Class. Or an S-Class diesel. Actually, if saving the world were really the priority, the vast expense of developing a car like the S-Class hybrid would be much better spent building tidal electricity generators, or just standing in the town square in Stuttgart and handing out free loft insulation. But Mercedes is obliged to be part of the hybrid revolution. For a start, American luxury-car drivers don't think diesel is a proper fuel for anything smaller than a Peterbilt, whereas the mere existence of a hybrid in the range - albeit a vast and thirsty one - is seen by your average American as sufficient to turn the world's deserts into lush meadows overnight. Never mind, this being Mercedes, the engineers have tackled the hybrid issue...
  • 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe at Geneva

Following the debut of the new 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan at the Detroit Auto Show and the convertible and wagon versions coming to Frankfurt later this year, Mercedes used the Geneva Motor Show to unveil the new E-Class coupe as promised. The sleek coupe replaces the CLK and cuts an especially aerodynamic profile. Engine options range from the oil-sipping E 250 CDI BlueEfficiency to the V8-powered E 500. Opinions remain divided on the square headlamps and derivative tail lights, but we found that Mercedes ' latest coupe cuts an attractive line in person. Check out the full details in the press release after the jump and our live picks in the gallery below to decide for yourself. © Source: autoblog We need your comments below >>
  • 2009 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe

(from Daimler Press Release) Stuttgart – The Geneva Motor Show will see the comeback of an intriguing product idea when Mercedes-Benz presents the Coupe range in the new E-Class . Just three months after the presentation of the Saloon, the brand is therefore launching a new highlight in the new model series while continuing a tradition that has repeatedly met with great enthusiasm throughout the history of the E-Class. The new 2009 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe offers a very special combination of two attributes for which the Mercedes brand is known: fascination and efficiency. With its classic coupй side aspect – no B-pillars and fully retractable side windows – the new two-door car is a particularly sporty interpretation of the E-Class's dynamic design. At the same time the most aerodynamic variant of the Coupes achieves a new world best in terms of drag coefficient: with a Cd-figure of just 0.24, this model is the world's most aerodynamically efficient series-production car. The...

  • 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class – Spied

Another round of spy photos have emerged today showcasing the likely-to-arrive-in-2 011 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class . As has been the case with all prior 2011 CLS spy shots, the model is still heavily disguised, with little design traits revealed about the next four door coupe. However, a few key areas to take note of include the somewhat visible front grille, similar to the one found on the current CLS, as well as the rear exhaust which features a rectangular design similar to that of the new E-Class. © Source: emercedesbenz We need your comments below >>
  • 2009 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

Mercedes-Benz and diesels go together like bratwursts and warm beer - the automaker claims to have built the first ever diesel-powered passenger car. Safe to say, the engineers in Stuttgart know what they're doing when piecing together oil-burning machines like the 2009 Mercedes-Benz ML320 BlueTEC , which features the German automaker's 50-state legal, 3.0L V-6 turbodiesel powerplant rated at 210 hp @ 3800 rpm and 398 lb-ft of torque @ 1600 rpm. The engine is also an option for both the GL and R-Class. Given the nature of the ML and the competitive soft-to-mild luxury SUV segment it plays in, none of our staffers was surprised with how it performed in a straight line (0 to 60 mph in 8.1 sec, quarter mile in 16.2 sec @ 84.5 mph). But what did catch us off-guard was how the force-fed the engine felt. Noticeable and distinct, the ML320 BlueTEC always sported the characteristic telltale diesel clatter, especially when coaxed into a torque-induced fury on the quarter-mile tarmac. When...
