(from Lamborghini press release) Lamborghini Reventon Number 20 arrives in the UK Lamborghini delivered the last of its 20, one million euro plus taxes, Reventуn cars this week, to a British customer of the official Midlands dealer, Lamborghini Birmingham. “Our client was understandably delighted,” said Lamborghini Birmingham sales manager Dominic Mulvey, who accompanied his client to Lamborghini’s Sant’Agata-based factory near Bologna. “Lamborghini’s President and CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, personally presented the Reventуn to its new owner who then drove off in his new car.” The UK-bound V12 Reventуn, number 20 of 20 with a minimum 650 hp and a top speed in excess of 211 mph , is the last of the Reventуn cars, all of which were sold prior to its public reveal in September 2007. It is the only Reventуn being delivered to the UK. Th e Lamborghini Estoque concept may enter production and could even be seen in Lamborghini show rooms as early as 2011. The news comes from Maurizio Reggiani, head of the company, who has even revealed the price could be around 190,000 euros. The series car will be limited to a maximum speed of 300 km/hr, with a platform that borrows some components from the Gallardo and even Audi. Reassurance has come, though, that the Estoque won’t have much in common with the next generation A8, saying that it’s an exercise in cost cutting to borrow components, but that the platform will be entirely new. Neither should the Lamborghini Estoque compete with the Porsche Panamera, which has lower entry level to the market. While Ferrari has always been primarily a motorsport company which delved into road-going super cars, Lamborghini ’s lack of motorsport heritage has lingered as a blemish on its performance reputation - a result of founder Ferruccio Lamborghini dismissing any involvement as being unprofitable. Now under the direction of Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini has today announced ‘The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo’ – the world’s fastest one-make series. The series will debut in May 2009 comprising a grid of 30 lightweight versions of the Gallardo LP 560-4 super sports car. The Super Trofeo edition LP 560-4 racers boast a reworked chassis with double wishbone suspension all round, a specialist racing brake system and Pirelli slick racing tyres. Carbon-fibre composite body components such as the fixed rear wing combine with an ultra-light racing seat, racing steering wheel and specialized instruments for a total weight of just 1,300kg. There’s not much extra information on this video, but that doesn’t matter because it speaks for itself. One suggestion was that this was a meeting of a Lamborghini car club. Which would make sense considering why would an upper middle class home have five Lamborghini (Countachs over Diablos and a Diablo in the garage.) After a lot of teasing from the Italian carmaker, today the official debut of the Lamborghini Estoque finally took place, at the Paris Motor Show . The four door coupe is actually a design study created by Lamborghini for the French show and, with four seats and luggage space shows their vision of the perfect “everyday sports car”. Like we said before, the name Estoque comes from the name of a sword used by matador in bull fights. Though I don’t really dig all this four door coupe thing, I must admit that Lamborghini did a great job with this one, because it looks amazing, with features like its styling inspired by the Murcielago LP-640 and the Reventon or the large 22 inch wheels. The press release also mentions that Lamborghini hasn’t yet decided whether this concept will be the starting point of a third model in the company’s range. A rich arab customer paid 30,000 euros to get the oil changed on his Lamborghini Murcielago - not the car’s fault but that of its owner as the vehicle was sent all the way from the Emirates to the London dealership. 25,000 euros was needed for the air delivery, and 5000 euros for repairs. Like its bigger brother, this sports car with the bull in its logo excels through its highlighted racing genes and more aggressive appearance after being modified at edo competition.
