  • Honda FC Sport Concept

In what came somehow as a suprise, Honda has unveiled an interesting new concept at the LA Auto Show, the Honda FC Sport design study. The three-passengers sportscar concept features a powertrain based on the Honda V Flow fuel cell technology, already in use on the FCX Clarity sedan. By combining lightweight materials, improved aerodynamics and a low center of gravity (due to a modular approach to fuel cell component packaging and the electric drivetrain), the concept achieves quite impressive performances, or at least that’s what Honda says, because so far there were no official specs released. The FC Sport concept, designed at Honda ’s Advanced Design Studio in Pasadena, California, by a team led by Jason Wilbure, looks pretty good, with angular shapes in the front of the vehicle that taper into geometric, hex forms in the rear (which house cooling radiators for the fuel cell), F1-style barge boards behind the front wheels and what I really like are the visible hydrogen storage tanks...
  • 2009 Honda Ridgeline Powersports Concept

SEMA is all about showing off what accessories are available in the parts catalogue. So Honda rummaged around its box-o-fun and came up with the Ridgeline Powersports Concept . It’s not so much enhancing the Ridgeline, but what you can do with a Ridgeline . Honda picked a product from their other line of vehicles (a CRF 450R motorcycle) and showed how it can be strapped into the back of Honda ’s truck. The small back of the Ridgeline also then gets to show off the use of the bed extender. Other features include a new grille and black finish 18" wheels, which Honda is testing the market’s reaction before making available. © Source: topspeed We need your comments below >>

  • 2009 Honda Odyssey JDM

Honda has released the first official images and details surrounding its latest Odyssey people mover, clearly aiming to continue its reputation as a family car without the family car look. While this model is destined for the Japanese market, the local version is expected to be relatively identical, seemingly borrowing many of its design features from the FCX Clarity. Under its slightly longer body and reworked chassis, the new Odyssey boasts agile recalibrated double wishbone suspension at all four corners. It will also be available with an optional all-wheel drive system mated to a 2.4-litre four-cylinder i-VTEC engine producing 127kW or 152kW in the flagship Absolute model for the Japanese domestic market. The interior features a futuristic Star Trek-like console layout with many gadgets to keep the occupants amused including a new multi-positioned camera system that allows drivers to get a bird’s eye view of the vehicle to assist with parking. It also features a versatile seating layout...
  • 2012 Honda S3000

With so much attention focused on Honda ’s next-generation NSX, it’s no surprise the future of the S2000 has been a topic largely ignored in automotive circles. But rumors are beginning to circulate about a possible S2000 successor, tentatively named S3000. As shown by our artist’s illustrations, the S3000 wold borrow design cues from the OSM (Open Study Model) and CR-Z concept cars. Despite the dramatic new styling, however, the new “S” will stay true to its predecessor’s lightweight construction and tight proportions. Not a lot else is known about the vehicle, but Honda is definitely trying to make it more competitive in terms of styling and comfort. Although it will remain a puristic roadster at heart, the S3000 will be a little less stripped-down. In October 2005, Honda ’s Motoatsu Shiraishi admitted the “S2000 has not been a success for us.” He suggested a different approach would be taken for the car’s replacement. He said the car’s manual gearbox was a turn-off to many potential...
  • Honda Accord - most affordable large car

During its relatively short time on the market, the new Accord has accumulated some very impressive titles mostly thanks to its big car benefits and small car economy. Overall, the four-cylinder Honda Accord has been named the most fuel efficient and affordable large car with a starting price tag of only $29,990 . The 2.4 litre EURO4 compliant DOHC i-VTEC engine produces peak power of 133kW and 222Nm, while boasting fuel economy of 8.8 litres per 100km. With an equally impressive CO2 emissions level of just 209 g/km, the Accord outstrips many medium cars in the economy stakes and even rivals some small cars. “The Accord offers the highest level of refinement in the large car segment and represents outstanding value for money. Both variants offer excellent fuel economy, which means less money being spent at the petrol pump.” Safety features include dual front and side airbags, ABS brakes with Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Vehicle Stability Assist, active front head restraints and...
  • JDM Honda Odyssey teased ahead of debut

As many of you doubtless know, the Japanese Honda Odyssey isn't the same thing we get here in the States. While we get the more jumbo-ridic family escape pod with sliders and the whole shebang, the JDM Odyssey is a sleeker-looking MPV with four traditionally-hinged doors and four-cylinder power. And now it's time for a new one. Honda 's just put up a special site to welcome the upcoming 4th-gen JDM Odyssey, whose styling further evolves the shape that's by now a common site in Japan, while the front end is likely to showcase Honda's current family design theme (think Clarity, Insight, etc.). In lieu of, say, an Accord wagon, this (or the more compact Stream) might work for a lot of people -- especially those of us who view the typical U.S.-style minivan as Superman does kryptonite. © Source: autoblog We need your comments below >>
  • Honda Insight Concept at the Paris auto show

There’s less than one month left until the Paris Motor Show will open its gates and more and more carmakers give us previews of what we’ll see at their stands. Honda unveiled the Honda Insight Concept , a 5-door hatchback built on a newly developed platform aimed directly at the Toyota Prius. Just like the upcoming Lexus IS Coupe Cabrio, though called ‘concept’, the car will basically be the production-ready version, the only difference being some minor changes that will be made. Honda Insight will be built in Japan, at the Suzuki plant and will go on sale in the first half of 2009 in Europe, Japan and North America. Powered by Honda ’s Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) hybrid power plant, the Japanese company claims that it wills the most affordable hybrid vehicle to date. © Source: autounleashed We need your comments below >>
  • Honda Civic 5D Mugen

The Honda Civic 5D Mugen concept car has been premiered at this year's Moscow Motor Show . No technical details on the Honda Civic 5D Mugen have been released yet. This is the second Mugen model released on the Russian market, the first one being the Accord Mugen. As seen from the photos, the Honda Civic 5D Mugen underwent a number of aerodynamic modifications, including new front and rear bumpers, side skirts, hood and a new rear wing. The Honda Civic 5D Mugen also features a new round dual exhaust system and black alloy wheels. © Source: zercustoms We need your comments below >>
  • 2009 Honda Fit Sport - First Drive

When Honda introduced the first generation Fit to the North American market in mid-2006, its timing couldn't have been better. The entry level hatchback appeared just as fuel prices in the U.S. were heading skyward. Ever since then, the Fit has been selling as fast as Honda can bring them in from Japan. The Fit (or Jazz as its known in some markets) debuted in 2001 and the second-generation model went on sale in Japan last fall. Honda showed the new U.S.-spec Fit at the New York Auto Show last spring and we had our first opportunity to drive it on the roads north of Ann Arbor, MI last week. As is typically the case with new models, the updated Fit has grown a bit (about 4 inches in overall length), but it's only about 44 pounds heavier than the outgoing model. Also in the usual fashion, Honda strove to increase the refinement of the Fit while not losing any of the fun-loving qualities of the original. In the process, it has had to deal with rising raw material and shipping costs...
  • 2009 Honda Civic

Honda introduced its new Civic for 2006 . With a broad lineup, which includes coupes and sedans ranging from the ultrafrugal Honda Civic Hybrid to the sport-themed Civic Si, the Civic is one of the best-selling cars in America, and the recent spike in gas prices has helped the Civic challenge the Accord as Honda's most-popular model. But recently the automaker's Japanese rivals have been fighting back, with an all-new Corolla in showrooms now and a replacement Mazda3 due next year. So to keep the Civic going strong, the 2009 version is getting a mid-cycle update with a host of small improvements featuring revised styling, an improved interior, new technology, additional safety features, as well as two new sedan variants -- the DX-VP and LX-S -- that offer customers additional choice when shopping for the range's low- and mid-priced models. When the latest-generation Civic first hit the market, many were surprised by its unusual styling, but the Civic's looks have proven...
  • 2009 Honda Legend

Honda’s quiet achiever is about to undergo a minor facelift and power upgrade. This year Honda has only sold 54 Legends, but the 2009 model is set to increase sales. The Japanese company says the new Legend will deliver more power and torque, together with increased efficiency and refinement. From the outside, there are 12 noticeable differences as well, starting with larger 18-inch allow wheels (245/45R18 tyres). Other enhancements include a new aluminium bonnet (less weight), new bi-xenon headlights and upgraded pentagonal grill, a new front bumper which encompasses integral fog lights and distinctive lower cooling air intakes, new rocker panels, new higher rate spring and damper settings, a new boot lid with integral spoiler, a new rear bumper, new tail-lights and a new exhaust treatment. The final enhancement is the integration of a new ‘acoustic windscreen’, which Honda says includes a thin film of butul alcohol between two bonded glass panels to deliver a whisper-quiet cabin. Under...
  • 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid

The 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid shares much of its body design with conventional Honda Civic s, the current Civic sedan looks futuristic compared to its predecessor, and the hybrid takes the look even further, with disc-like 15-inch alloy wheels fitted with low-rolling-resistance tires. Kelley Blue Book notes that other visual distinctions between conventional Honda Civics and the Civic Hybrid are "side mirrors with integrated turn indicators" along with "clear front turn signal lenses, mild trunk spoiler, small roof-mounted antenna and hybrid badging." Overall, reviewers tend to side with Edmunds, whose testers are "quite fond of the current-generation Civic" and its futuristic styling. The exterior of this hybrid-powered 2008 Honda can be described as mildly controversial, and the interior follows suit, at least in terms of the dashboard. Edmunds writes that the "digital speedometer and gas gauge are at the base of the windshield," and "some drivers...

  • 2008 Honda Accord Euro - Review

Bettering the original Euro was always going to be a challenge, after all it’s still a very contemporary looking and highly relevant car. But fortunately for us resting on its laurels isn’t something Honda does and from where I stand, that can only be a good thing. Dimensionally bigger in almost every direction AccordEuro encapsulates a sporty yet elegant stance with an assertive front end drawing sharper angles and crisp crease lines to a point from its flowing, progressively up swept profile, kind of like a well ironed shirt. The athletically wider track further highlights Euro’s slightly shorter stance and perhaps best of all the rear end is endowed with a softer finish that is more dignified and less boy-racer than the predecessor, again a very good thing. Inside Honda ’s commitment to above average material use and arrangement is clearly evident as are the comfortable ergonomics, tech-savvy equipment levels, sassy appearance and generous proportions. The leather clad heated memory...
