It looks like the recently launched California is not the only new convertible Ferrari has been working on, because yesterday the Italian carmaker introduced the new Ferrari F430 Scuderia 16M Spider , the convertible version of the Scuderia. This has been rumored before and there were quite a few voices saying that this model has no point at all. Still, Ferrari has decided to build the car, in celebration of its recent victory in the Formula 1 Constructor’s World Championship 2008. Weighting 1340 kg (2954 lbs), the convertible Scuderia is 80 kg (176 lbs) lighter than the F430 Spider, which means that, powered by the 510 hp V8 it sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.7 seconds and goes up to a top speed of 315 km/h (195 mph). According to Ferrari, and we believe them, this is the fastest convertible they’ve ever built. The Ferrari F430 Scuderia 16M Spider will be built in only 499 units, which will go to their “most passionate clients”, whatever that means. © Source: autounleashed...

Though only rumors so far, it seems that one of the most largest classic car transactions took place recently. The car we’re talking about is a Ferrari 250 GTO and apparently someone paid a whopping $28.5 million for it. These rumors showed up on the Ferrari Chat forums and no one confirmed it so far. If it’s true, it’s incredible what ridiculous amounts of money are being paid for these classic cars. I mean, yeah, they’re beautiful, but c’mon, $28.5 million ? © Source: autounleashed We need your comments below >>

Ferrari is officially unveiling its California later this afternoon at simultaneous ceremonies in Los Angeles and Maranello, Italy. The best part? You can watch from the comfort of your computer screen. The company has set up a site dedicated to the car’s launch, and you can click over to see Prancing Horse pres. Luca di Montezemolo rubbing elbows with the likes of Kimi Raikkonen, Felipe Massa and Michael Schumacher. We know we will be. Er, would have been, had our invite not been lost in the mail. The Ferrari California is the company’s newest model and sports a retractable hard top as well as a fire-breathing front-mounted F430-derived V8. © Source: autofiends We need your comments below >>

Ferrari 's oldest current model, the 612 Scaglietti , is also its least desirable, if marketplace demand is any measure. While the F430 and the 599GTB Fiorano enjoy lengthy waiting lists, Ferrari's flagship can occasionally be bought right off the showroom floor. Does that make it a bad car? Of course not - the least desirable Ferrari is, after all, still a Ferrari . The problem is that the 612's elegant, reserved demeanor is decidedly at odds with the outrageousness that we've come to expect from Maranello. The entry-level F430's adolescent break-dance handling and ghetto-blaster V-8 encourage 8500-rpm upshifts and tire-smoke-drenched hole-shots. That kind of bad behavior seems juvenile in the polished Scaglietti, which feels best when it's cruising gently around town. Its V-12 is quiet inside the cabin, the ride is plush, and the steering is light, offering far less feedback than you'd expect. The interior is flawlessly finished, with beautiful leather on every...

Ferrari F430 Scuderia is one of the most amazing performance cars to ever be built. By deleting 220 pounds and adding 27 horsepower, the F430 Scuderia was even able to beat the mighty Enzo around Ferrari’s test track. So with perfection seemingly hit square on the head, would Ferrari dare alter the Scuderia? According to Motor Authority, Ferrari is planning to launch and open-air Spider version of the F430 Scuderia. The F430 Scuderia Spider is said to be readying for its debut by the end of 2008, with production earmarked for about 300 units. Although the allure of a super Ferrari convertible is undeniable, there are just a few points that lead us to believe that the Scuderia Spider could just be too good to be true. The first and most obvious is that the Scuderia puts a heavy emphasis on lightweight. Convertibles are historically heavier than their fixed-roof counterparts – due to the need of added reinforcements – and the F430 Spider actually tips the scales about 155 pounds heavier than...

Production of the Ferrari California has commenced, and for the occasion a new assembly line has been inaugurated at Maranello. The program called “formula Uomo” (a play on words meaning “formula man”) started in 1997 and was designed to render the factory work more comfortable and streamlined for staff. A new futuristic restaurant has also been opened at the facilities. In the meantime, the wait for the little one from Ferrari is becoming nervous and the photos and video are a terrible tease coming up to the Paris debut in October. © Source: eurocarblog We need your comments below >>

German tuning alchemists NoviTec Rosso have joined forces with custom chopper builder Walz Hardcore Cycles to produce this, a Ferrari F430 with pinstriping, a 707bhp twin supercharged engine and a chalkboard black paintjob. Inspired by a conversation between NoviTec boss Wolfgang Hagedorn and chopper builder Marcus Walz, the F430 TuNero is, to quote Spinal Tap, 'none more black'. It has matt black bodywork, black calipers, black interior and black seats. Underneath, the TuNero has a pair of superchargers, air-to-water intercoolers, a revised intake system and oil coolers and new injectors. Maximum power is an Enzo-humbling 707bhp at 8350rpm and 525lb ft of torque at 6300rpm. As you expect, performance is brisk. 60mph comes up in under 3.5 seconds, and flat out the TuNero reaches 216mph. The TuNero is a one-off, but NoviTec will build a similar car for around £300,000 . Walz build custom choppers for F1 champ (and tat-fan) Kimi Raikkonen. Weâ™d imagine this is exactly the kind of...

When we think of Ferrari we think of supercars that has that certain sex appeal, no one makes a fast car quite like the Italians. However it seems as if the prancing horse has a little issue with catching fire, the car this time was a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano which self-ignited when it came to a stop. I would hate to be in the driver’s shoes right now, as it was not even his car. The car was being driven by a worker for Romans International supercar garage in Banstead, UK, while he was driving the dream machine he could hear a strange sound coming from the rear, which was quickly followed by a huge amount of smoke and then the fire. The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano worth £250,000 is now a write-off, thankfully though the Ferrari was still covered under its warranty. However, this is no consolation to Ferrari owners around the world who must now be wondering if their prized possession will catch alight. You would think that a company like Ferrari would never suffer from any such problem like this...

Talk about being in the news and making news! As rare as that is, Broadcaster Chris Evans did just that when he paid £5.5 million ( $107, 591, 059 USD) for a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder - a new world record price for a car at auction. The 42-year-old multi-millionaire bought the car at a Ferrari sale at Maranello , Italy. The dark blue supercar used to belong to James Coburn, star of The Magnificent Seven and The Great Escape, who died in 2002. Coburn, who appeared in more than 100 films, bought the car second-hand in 1964. Other leading Hollywood actors including Steve McQueen and Clint Eastwood also owned similar cars. It's not the first time Evans has splashed the cash on fancy cars. In 2000 he famously bought a Ferrari for his future wife Billie Piper, the day after they met - and filled it with roses. © Source: luxurylaunches We need your comments below >>

An incredible collection of Ferrari 's spanning 50-plus years of the company's history goes up for auction this Sunday at the Ferrari factory in Maranello. The stars of the sale are undoubtedly a 1961 250 GT SWB California Spyder that belonged to The Magnificent Seven star James Coburn, which is estimated at $4.6 - $5.9 million ; and a 1964 250 Le Mans , est. $6.5 million - $7.4 million , making it one of the most expensive Ferraris ever to go on the block. There are plenty of other incredible machines on offer in the Ferrari : Leggenda e Passione event being staged by RM Auctions, however. Our personal favorite is this beautiful 1962 250 GT Lusso , the very first production unit and one of only three known examples raced, which is considerably cheaper at est. $1.2 million - $1.5 million . Other highlights include a 1990 Ferrari F40 Le Mans , est. $1.5 million - $2.1 million ; a 2004 Enzo specially made for a member of a Middle Eastern royal family in a one-off shade of gray, est...
