At least, that's the case if the little Mazda caught in Evo 's spy shots is actually the Mazda1. Evo makes a compelling case for the car actually being the Mazda1 - not merely a revised Mazda2. Save for the ascending shoulder line (now moved to shoulder height, way above the rocker panels as on the Kiyora) the prototype has almost nothing in common with the design of the swoopy Paris beastlet. At the very least, we hope this car comes with the concept car's tech, but we won't know for certain until the car's expected launch at September's Frankfurt Auto Show . Hopes were high that the long-anticipated higher-output version of the Veyron would be unveiled at the Swiss show. But fret not, at least if these latest reports are to be believed, as Bugatti is said to be preparing an altogether new car that will be unveiled in September. Details are scarce at this point, but keen to stay ahead of the competition, Bugatti is said to be considering several options that would, figuratively speaking, fit into the same mold as the Veyron. That means another seven-figure, record-beating supercar, likely with an even more powerful version of the Veyron's thousand-horsepower, quad-turbo W16 engine. With Veyron production winding to a close ...

The Brit pub is reporting the imminent arrival of the Volkswagen Golf GTI-R, a hotter version of VW's iconic hatch with a more powerful variant of the turbocharged 2.0-liter motivating all four wheels. The turbo'd four-pot is related to the Audi S3's mill, so expect output to be up and over 260 hp. And, according to the report, a major element of the GTI-R is weight reduction, so VW has opted to use the 2.0-liter turbo in favor of its 3.2-liter V6. The supposed weight-loss regime might come in the form of lighter structural and body components, along with a less luxurious interior that won't infringe on the premium confines of the R32 and Scirocco. Then again...

Filed under: Frankfurt Auto Show , Convertibles , Wagons/Estates , Mercedes-Benz Click above for a high-res gallery of the 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan Now that the new 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan has been unveiled and the E-Class Coupe 's debut is scheduled for the rapidly approaching Geneva Motor Show , news has arrived that the model range will be completed with wagon and convertible versions at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September. Shortly after the show, the wagon should go on sale, with the droptop expected to follow right in time for winter to hit in November. So far, there's no information on powertrain options, but we'd expect both the practical wagon and the cabriolet to share a similar range of engines as the rest of the lineup - including the frugal turbodiesel four cylinder wearing the CDI BlueEFFICIENCY badge and the big 388-horsepower V8 in the E500. Of course, as we know more, so will you. Gallery: 2010 Mercedes Benz E-Class [Source: Automotive News...
