Filed under: Time Warp , Lifestyle , Motorcycles , Celebrities Click above for larger shots of the Moto-Terminator When artificial intelligence finally figures out that its creators are inconvenient pests in the way of its quest to control the entire world, some of the first machines created by the supercomputers will be motorcycles. Come on, it makes sense, doesn't it? Single-track vehicles can go places that their four-wheeled brethren can't fit, and are quicker in getting there to boot. Of course, it's a bit harder to fit a butt-load of weapons on a two-wheeler, but AI is smart enough to have that problem fixed with gyroscopic turrets on each side, particularly when there's no carbon-based rider. Looking at the early preproduction pictures of the concept Moto-Terminator makes us pretty excited to see what else is in store for the fourth Terminator installment. We're pretty geeked by the way the bike's backbone is made up of a mechanized humanoid, complete with...

Filed under: Etc. , Motorcycles , Celebrities We've had a flood of tip emails that Jeremy Clarkson's been seen on a Vespa, so you know he's been up to something. That something is a hilarious invective against motorbiking, with a short bit about the Vespa at the very end. The verdict: you will be killed. The main message is that riding a motorbike as a financial decision is dubious at best, as a bike and all its required equipment will run you more than a new VW Golf; oh, and you'll be killed. If you still want to try and cheat death, your cost of operation will be extremely low, as bikes are more fuel efficient than said Golf, and the first time you turn left, you'll fall off and dash your brains out, rendering yourself dead, which will make biking even more inexpensive for you. It's safe to say that the esteemed Mr. Clarkson prefers automobiles. Thanks for the tip, Kris! [Source: TimesOnline , photo: Paul Hennessy/Gorilla Pictures] Read | Permalink | Email this...

Filed under: Videos , Motorcycles , Celebrities Click above for more shots of the custom bikes from Babylon A.D. Having managed to avoid Babylon A.D. completely up until this point, it's hard to give any sort of commentary on the actual flick (we heard it was pretty bad...), but after seeing some of the cool machinery that was showcased in the Vin Diesel vehicle, we give a grade A to Lazareth, the French maker of high performance custom bikes. Lazareth was a good choice, as the motorcycles coming out of that shop already have a bit of a future post-apocalyptic look to them. Among the cool features are supercharged V-Twin engines, single-sided forks and swingarms, and on-board computers. Customs based on streetfighters are inherently cool in the sea of look-alike choppers and bobbers, so it's a refreshing change of pace to see these bikes featured on film. See a video of the machines in action after the break. Gallery: Lazareth customs in Babylon A.D. [Source: MotoBlog ] Continue...

Filed under: Motorcycles , Celebrities For those of you who just can't get enough Jesse James in your life, we have good news. The rest of you, commence eye-rolling. The tattooed chopper builder will soon be back on the small screen, this time on Spike TV. His new vehicle is called Jesse James is a Dead Man , which isn't totally accurate unless you're referring to some of his famous forebears. Although the world needs another "reality" TV show like we need a festering case of hemorrhoids, this series will focus not on James' welding torch-wielding antics, but will instead follow Mr. Bullock as he moves from one supposedly dangerous activity to another. Great. Seriously, how bad will this show be? Our guess: Fear Factor bad. We can smell the impending suckage from here... like a steaming hot pile of rotting cabbage. Just when you thought that the reality TV explosion couldn't possibly get any more far-fetched and ridiculous, the execs go and do something like...

Filed under: Time Warp , Lifestyle , Motorcycles , Celebrities Follow the jump to watch a video of Tr2n teaser footage Disney is planning a sequel to its cult classic, Tron . Jeff Bridges reprises his role as Flynn, though the character may take on a more menacing tone in part two. Teaser footage was unveiled just yesterday at the San Diego Comic Con. While Tron was just moderately successful at the box office, the film's legend has grown along with its 80s-era fans, enough to earn itself a sequel over two decades later. The Light Cycles starred in what was perhaps the original film's most iconic scene, and they make a grand comeback in Tr2n , the tentative (and very unfortunate) name of the sequel. Seriously, watch the crappy, clandestinely-obtained footage from the convention panel after the break. Color us super excited based on this early teaser. When we see a proper copy of this, we'll likely be even more stoked. Seriously, how cool are the new Light Cycles? We think they...

Filed under: Motorsports , Honda , Motorcycles , Celebrities As was reported earlier , Michael Schumacher made an appearance racing on a Honda at the Oschersleben circuit of the German Superbike Championship last weekend. On the surface, his twenty-eighth place finish seems rather disappointing, but upon further examination, it was a pretty good weekend overall for the ex-Formula 1 champ. Technical issues kept Schumacher from starting well, with only two racers behind him at position thirty-seven on the grid. Finishing all the way up to number 28 in the first race is a rather good outing considering the competition he was up against. In race two, Schumacher charged his way to position 21 before crashing out. Despite the accident, Schumacher seems to have enjoyed his time on the track, saying, "I am a racer. I find motorcycles such a lot of fun, but I do not have any plans to enter a race series properly. Perhaps I will race from time to time, but always as a guest runner and without...

Filed under: Motorsports , Honda , Motorcycles , Celebrities Seven-time Formula 1 racing champion Michael Schumacher will be racing this weekend on a Honda CBR1000RR at the IDM International German Motorbike Championship. There are rumors that he'll be racing under a false name, Marcel Niederhausen. Now that the cat is officially out of the bag, so to speak, he may as well skip the alias. Schumacher will race alongside current champion Martin Bauer for Holzhauer Racing. With this announcement, all of the previous events which Schumacher took part in start to make more sense. Superbike racing is very hotly contested, and the bikes feature nearly two-hundred horsepower in race trim. Therefore, it would have been an exceedingly bad idea to race in this series without a few warm-up runs. According to event organizers, the thirty-seven year old Schumacher has been testing for the last few weeks with members of his new team and "he surprised many experts with fast times." We can...

Filed under: Marketing/Advertising , Motorcycles , Celebrities Click on the image for more shots of Indiana's Harley-Davidson It seems that the marketing folks at Harley-Davidson have managed to get a bit of product placement for themselves, following the likes of Audi with Iron Man , Volkswagen with The Bourne Ultimatum and GM with Transformers . The new Indiana Jones movie, titled 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Crystal Skull' features both Harrison Ford and Shia The Le Beouf riding what appears at first glance to be an old Harley. Upon closer inspection, the bike is actually a new model, complete with fuel injection and Harley's new six-speed transmission. The movie-crew manages to make the bike look much older by using parts from older machines, such as the old Sportster tank and pre-war "beehive" tail light. Look real close and you may even notice the fake kick-starter which must just be welded to the frame. As a celebration of the upcoming movie's use...

Filed under: Motorsports , Ferrari , Motorcycles , Celebrities Actions speak louder than words. Surely a multiple world champion driver like Michael Schumacher would appreciate such a principal, yet the retired Formula One driver continues to proclaim that he has no intention of competing in MotoGP despite his actions suggesting otherwise. After bringing you previous reports of Schumacher dazzling the crowds at various motorcycle races , comes news that Schumi was called up by the Ducati team to fill in for its injured test driver. The Italian motorcycle racing team was in the middle of a three-day test session when its official test rider Vittoriano Guareschi was injured after falling off his bike, precluding him from continuing with the tests. Rather than call on any of what surely must be a long list of eager and experienced motorcyclists to take Guareschi's place, Ducati called Michael and asked him to step in. Meanwhile Schumacher's successor at Ferrari, reigning world champion...

Filed under: Motorsports , Euro , Motorcycles , Celebrities Michael Schumacher made an auspicious motorcycle racing debut at the Misano track in Italy on Sunday. The race was the seven-time F1 champion's first professional competition on two wheels, following last week's amateur event in Hungary . The short ten-lap event was run on 990cc KTM Super Duke motorbikes, on which Schumacher managed to qualify third and finish an impressive fourth, having dropped down to 14th and fought his way back up through the field. Schumacher was quick to assert, however, that this was a casual pursuit and not the start of a second career. Cautious reservations aside, we wouldn't be surprised to see the champ sporadically climb back onto various two-wheeled racing machines for the occasional race here or there. Filed under: Motorsports , Suzuki , Motorcycles , Celebrities Click above for a few more pics of the hydrojump Motocrosser, X-Game gold-medal winner and Subaru USA rally car driver extraordinaire Travis Pastrana has once again gone and done something so crazy that we wonder how the man can still be among the living. Previously, Pastrana became the first rider ever to land a double-backflip in competition, and now he's gone and done something else unthinkable: the hydrojump . After speeding to about 70 miles per hour, Pastrana hydroplaned his Suzuki dirtbike in five-foot deep water for 110 feet, ending after launching himself and his bike off a floating FMX ramp. According to his official site, they are still searching for Pastrana's bike at the bottom of the lake, a water-filled volcanic crater in Costa Rica. Apparently, the bike was bone-stock with no modifications in order to ensure that the hydroplaning was successful. We've made a gallery of a few more pictures, and the...

Filed under: Motorsports , Motorcycles , Celebrities Rumors of Michael Schumacher racing on two wheels in the MotoGP series have been bouncing around like a Ferrari-red rubber ball. First came the initial speculation, coupled with denials from both MotoGP and Ducati, the team for whom the retired F1 champ was rumored to ride. The rumor-mill was set a-churnin' again, however, when Schumacher's longtime manager Willi Weber responded that "anything is possible". The runaway speculation, however, has been emphatically put to rest as Schumacher himself has outright denied the possibility. "It is an absolute lie. At the most, I can race on a scooter." Well there you have it - case closed. Schumacher will compete next season in the International Vespa Championship. Or maybe he meant on a Ferrari Segway ? (Yes, we are joking.) Filed under: Motorsports , Motorcycles , Celebrities We enjoyed the 2007 Formula One season, down, as it came, to the last race in a three-way heat with the third-place driver ultimately taking the title. But part of us misses Michael Schumacher, even if his five consecutive back-to-back world titles cast a heavy and at times monotonous shadow over the sport. That's why we love bringing you stories about what Schumi's been up to since his retirement, and there's been plenty to report. Now, after driving taxicabs , launching his own karting team , rejecting offers to head up Scuderia Ferrari , and fighting for victory at the Race of Champions , the latest rumors suggest that Schumacher could try his hand at motorcycle racing. The reports originate from French sports newspaper L'Equipe , which cites the world champion's previous two tests for Ducati (title-sponsored, like Ferrari, by Marlboro) and reports of Schumacher's reps visiting the MotoGP headquarters as evidence...

Filed under: Motorcycles , Celebrities Where did Vinnie go? Ever since the American Chopper episode where it was revealed that Vincent DiMartino was leaving for greener pastures and new opportunities, fans of the show have wondered what he was up to. The answer is that he's still building custom motorcycles, just for his own company: V-Force Customs . Not only that, but Cody Connelly , also from Orange County fame, has joined forces with Vinnie in the creation of their own custom bike operation. The company is currently working on its shop in New York, but plans to introduce its first bike at Daytona Beach for Bike Week 2008 . February 29th is coming up pretty quickly, so we should be getting some more information soon enough. After touring for a year, the dynamic duo will be giving the bike to one lucky customer. If you're interested in knowing more, the company has set up a web forum , and it appears that both Vinnie and Cody occasionally make it there to communicate with fans...

Filed under: Misc. Auto Shows , Motorcycles , Celebrities click above for more pics of OCC's new production bike Despite the fact that the Orange County Choppers television show has been on for years now and the shop's top mechanic, Vinnie, has left for good, the public still loves the Teutels. No matter what you may think of their theme bikes, there's no denyiny that an OCC bike draws plenty of attention. Those who are willing to pay for that attention can buy one of their production machines full of OCC logos and custom touches, and they have recently added two new models to their line, a bagger and a bike known as "Sweet Amber". Today we'll take a peak at the as-yet-unnamed bagger, which looks pretty sinister above in all black. We like the usability that a custom bagger offers without sacrificing the look of a custom bike. Corbin Fleetliner bags provide 40 liters of storage and hide the exhaust pipes, leaving just the aft openings visible. The rear tire is...
