Unfortunately, the sedan's styling hasn't translated into a market success for the Italian automaker, so they've opted for a facelift. Thankfully they haven't messed with the near perfection of the 159's lines too much, sharpening up the already razor-sharp lines in the hope that the updated 159 will help the brand hold down the C-segment in Europe until the Giulia that's set to replace it rolls around late next year. Check it out in the gallery below. Filed under: Concept Cars , Geneva Motor Show , Euro , Hatchbacks , Alfa Romeo Click above for a high-res gallery of the Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA Concept There are pie-in-the-sky concept cars and then there are coming-to-a-showroom-near-you concept cars. The Alfa MiTo GTA is the latter, and from what we've seen that's a good thing, especially as Fiat's new partnership with Chrysler may herald Alfa Romeo's return to North America at long last. Although Alfa is billing the MiTo GTA unveiled here at the Geneva Motor Show as a concept, company spokesmen say it should hit production later this year. And when it does, the 230-hp turbo four - displayed separately on Alfa's show stand - should stay, but we'd expect the racing buckets with rear-anchored harnesses to give way to four seats. The jury's still out on the carbon-fiber body panels and tarmac-chomping front air dam and rear diffuser, but so far we like what we see. The folks at Renaultsport and John Cooper Works...

Filed under: Spy Photos , Hatchbacks , Alfa Romeo One of the Alfa Romeos the U.S. buying public got to know (and largely ignore) was the Milano. Back then, the Milano was a wedgy, compact sedan with a proper trunk. From the looks of things, Alfa is prepared to resurrect the Milano name , only this time it won't go on another sedan. Instead, it's expected to adorn a compact, five-door hatch that shares a platform with the Fiat Bravo and Lancia Delta. Alfa's various T-jet and Multijet engines will power the little guy and the front wheels will pull it, although all-wheel-drive is expected to join the options list. The Milano is said to bow in Europe in about a year, with a possible American introduction a year after that, in 2011. Filed under: Concept Cars , Sports/GTs , Geneva Motor Show , Hatchbacks , Alfa Romeo Click above for a high-res gallery of the Alfa MiTo GTA Alfa's finally pulled the covers off the MiTo GTA, releasing a full set of specifications and a few new images of the hottest of hot hatches just ahead of the car's official debut at the Geneva Motor Show late next week. While the standard-grade MiTo is definitely a looker, the Italian automaker has added a major dose of sportiness by way of a 90-horsepower injection, handily passing the MINI John Cooper Works edition along the way. To go along with the added zip, Alfa's engineers have reduced the weight of the car through the use of carbon fiber for the roof, tailgate spoiler and mirror housings, along with aluminum replacements for many chassis and suspension parts. The engine displaces just 1.8 liters, but an impressive 240 horsepower is extracted via turbocharging, direct-injection and variable valve-timing. Underneath the slinky skin...

Filed under: Sedans/Saloons , Wagons/Estates , Geneva Motor Show , Euro , Alfa Romeo Click above for a high-res gallery of the 2009 Alfa Romeo 159 If anything comes out of the Chrysler/Fiat partnership (and we doubt anything will) we're desperately looking forward to a range of Alfa Romeo products in the States. Right behind the Brera on our imaginary wish-list is this: the 2009 Alfa Romeo 159. Due to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show next month, the updated 159 boasts two new engines - a 200 hp, 1.8-liter TBi (turbocharged and direct-injected) four-cylinder and a 170 hp, 1.8-liter JTDm diesel - with the gas-powered variant equipped with a "Q2" electronic differential and a choice of either a six-speed manual or auto 'box. Unfortunately, these leaked images and minor details are all we have, so expect all the info to follow in the first week of March. Filed under: Coupes , Sedans/Saloons , Hatchbacks , Chrysler, LLC. , Alfa Romeo , FIAT Click either image for a high-res gallery As soon as word hit that Fiat and Chrysler were striking a deal , visions of 500s and Alfas began dancing in our heads. According to an anonymous source speaking with Automotive News , those visions aren't too far off, and they could be realized within a year. In a bid to kick-start Fiat and Alfa Romeo's return to the U.S., the automaker could start exporting vehicles to the States as early as 2010. After which - and assuming the reception's warm - Fiat would begin producing the 500 and the new Alfa 940 in North America in mid-2011. At the onset, the first models available would be limited to a few thousand and would be sold through Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep retailers. Furthermore, the deal between the two automakers would give Chrysler access to four Fiat platforms, ranging from minicars to mid-sizers, along with 1.4- and 1.8-liter engines and a new six...

Filed under: Auction Action , Supercars , Alfa Romeo There are few things as tragic as a missed opportunity. So if you've been sitting at home crying over your chance gone by to grab one of the 84 examples of the simply stunning Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione to reach American shores , cheer up, because the miracle of eBay has come to save the day yet again. Not one, but three U.S.-spec 8Cs have popped up for sale on the auction site's automobile section. Of course, this sort of design perfection doesn't come cheap. Not by any stretch of the imagination. One example in St. Louis is rolling off the block today with a starting bid of $243,900. A second one in Minneapolis is up for grabs with a starting bid of $305,800 and a Buy-It-Now price of $329,995. And a third example is available out of Houston with a Buy-It-Now price or Best Offer at $295k. They're all in red (naturally) and are far from priced to sell, but can you really put a price on beauty? Well, apparently you can...

Filed under: Sports/GTs , Euro , Alfa Romeo , Rumormill Click above to view a high-res gallery of the Alfa Romeo MiTo and 8C side-by-side While the Alfa MiTo was under development, speculation placed a number of different nameplates on the sport hatch. One of them was Junior, but new reports suggest that Alfa may in fact be preparing an additional model to carry the Junior name. Although the MiTo was earmarked to hold down the lower end of the Alfa Romeo range with styling drawn from the 8C Competizione, in terms of body style, at least, the new Junior may in fact be closer to the halo supercar - more of a sports coupe than a sport hatch. The platform will allegedly be based on the MiTo's, sharing some of the same engine options while introducing a new hydraulic manual as well as a new dual-clutch gearbox to the range. Little else is known about the Junior, but expect similar styling to the MiTo with a lower roofline and sleeker profile. Sister company Lancia may yet get its own version...
