Filed under: Wagons/Estates , Geneva Motor Show , Euro , Crossovers/CUVs , Audi Click above for a high-res gallery of the 2010 Audi A4 Allroad Audi has rolled out its new 2010 Audi A4 Allroad here at the Geneva Motor Show , and while the turbocharged stiltswagon wasn't originally expected to reach U.S. dealerships, word coming out of the show from Automotive News is that this is under discussion. As you may recall, Audi's very first Allroad, the A6-based softroader, was sold from 2000 to 2005 in the U.S, but the second-generation range (currently on sale in Europe) never made it to America because of the initial model's slow sales. The flared-fender A4 Allroad goes on sale in Europe as you read this (base price: 37,100 Euros - about $46,700 USD), carrying under its hood a 211-horsepower, 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder or one of two TDI diesels - either a 2.0-liter (170 hp) or a 3.0-liter (240 hp). Presumably, if America gets the A4 Allroad at all, it will receive the gas engine...

Filed under: Wagons/Estates , Geneva Motor Show , Crossovers/CUVs , Saab Click above for high-res gallery of the Saab 9-3X Saab debuted its 9-3X at the Geneva Motor Show , and while it's a new market for the Swedish brand (we'll try to forget about the body-on-frame 9-7X, thank you), we suspect that the lifted load-lugger will probably outsell the standard SportCombi by a healthy margin Stateside, given America's appetite for such things. It's quite handsome in person and the inherently less-sharp handling of a sportstilts wagon ought to paper over the 9-3's occasionally soggy dynamics. Said another way, a lack of razor-sharp handling in the 9-3 platform would seem to be more appropriate/acceptable in a softroader than a sporty wagon or sedan. While basically the same as the 2.0-liter Sportcombi, the 9-3X has a 1.4-inch higher stance and standard Cross-Wheel Drive (XWD), a fantastically grippy system that figures to give the new model sufficient softroading abilities...

Filed under: Concept Cars , Wagons/Estates , Geneva Motor Show , Hatchbacks , BMW Click above for a high-res gallery of the BMW 5 Series Gran Touring Concept It's been several years in the making, but BMW's plan to expand their inroads further into the "lifestyle" market appears ready to finally bear fruit. Looking something like a ground-bound X6 that's missed a few collagen injections, the 5 Series Gran Turismo concept will likely be one of the last Bimmers that Chris Bangle has had a significant hand in designing ( for better or worse ). In any case, these first shots of the 5 Series GT have slipped out in advance of the car's planned Geneva Motor Show unveiling, and it looks like it was caught at some sort of an unveiling for what looks to be a select group of invited media (notice the camera and video rigs in plain sight). We'll leave the judgments up to you and the gimmicky segmentation jargon to BMW ("Progressive Activity Sedan"... really?...

Filed under: Spy Photos , Wagons/Estates , Geneva Motor Show , Crossovers/CUVs , Saab The Saab allroad 9-3X is a SportCombi on stilts wearing a few new clothes. In addition to more generous clearance afforded by the vertically enhanced suspension, the Volvo XC70-fighter will don plenty of cladding, whopping pipes out back, and it will utilize the services of a Haldex all-wheel-drive system to conquer inclement conditions. Unless Saab decides to create an Aero edition that will use the 2.8-liter V6, the 210 horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter might be the only engine on offer in the U.S. initially. No price has been mentioned, either, but with the 9-3 SportCombi XWD running $38,585, that's probably a good place to start working your way up. We'll see the car at next month's Geneva Motor Show , and it is expected on sale later this year. Filed under: Spy Photos , Wagons/Estates , BMW Who needs a 5-Series PAS when you've got one of these? The next BMW 5-Series Touring is out testing, and despite the fact that it looks as long as a football field and it's buried under cladding, it doesn't look awkward or ungainly - something that cannot exactly be said for the coming Mercedes E-Class wagon . The BMW wagon isn't expected to debut until the latter portion of 2010, but there are hints that the car will get the 400 hp, twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 - perhaps for an M Touring assault on Mercedes' E63 AMG wagon? The family carrier is also hinted to offer turbodiesels and three transmission options: 8-speed automatic, 7-speed DKG, and 6-speed manual.
