Filed under: Coupes , Marketing/Advertising , Videos , Hyundai Click above to watch video after the jump When Hyundai publicly unveiled the Genesis Coupe at the New York Auto Show earlier this year, it did so with a barrage of stunt driving and indoor drifts that made us badly want to get behind the wheel. The marketing team over at Hyundai must have picked up on that vibe, because they've produced a nearly two-minute long commercial for the South Korean market that consists of a gun metal gray Genesis Coupe slip sliding across a baron landscape. The resulting montage of Genesis Coupe clips shows it drifting elegantly through a cloud of its own dust and makes us want the RWD coupe that much more. Good job, Hyundai Marketing Dept. The entire video was shot to look almost completely black and white, which makes the contrast of the Genesis Coupe's curves stand out in a most complementary way. We were somewhat disappointed by one graphic that states a 0-100 km/h time of 6.5 seconds...

Filed under: Car Buying , Coupes , Videos , Hyundai Click above to watch the video Today is the day reservations become available for the Hyundai Genesis Coupe in Korea . To celebrate, Hyundai has released a new commercial which you can watch after the break. Those placing orders now should begin taking possession of their new two-door, rear-wheel drive coupe on September 26. Pricing for the new hotness from Hyundai is very reasonable for the Korean market with a base price of 25,360,000 WON (about U.S. $23,000). Stepping up to the "Stylish Pack" (seriously?) nets you 19-inch rims, a limited slip diff and optional Brembo's for 26,920,000 WON (U.S. $24,500). Well worth it in our estimation. A loaded 3.8-liter V6 Genesis Coupe will go for 33,150,000 WON (U.S. $30,100), which buys you over 300-horsepower and a full leather interior. Hit the jump for a full rundown of pricing and options for the Coupe in Korea . According to our tipster, the Genesis sedan with the 3.8-liter V6...

Filed under: Marketing/Advertising , Videos , Hyundai As we learned at the New York Auto Show , the fanciest or funniest videos don't always take home the trophies. Hyundai's recent "Big Duh" ads won the IAG Research ad award by being the one ad the really stuck in the skull of folks at home from Nov 1, 2007 through Jan 26, 2008 . The "Big Duh" year end sales event spots were recognized as the most effective car ads because it's apparently hard to forget a choir singing the word "Duh" to "O Christmas Tree" while a Hyundai Azera rotates on screen. Hyundai's ads were also effective because the "Big Duh" theme was used over a period of several months, which helped viewers better associate the 30-second spots with the Korean automaker. A few of the "Duh" themes carried out over the past few months are "Pink Panther" and "2001 Space Odyssey", and the obvious point of the commercials is that getting...

Filed under: New York Auto Show , Coupes , Videos , Hyundai We dug the hot new Genesis Coupe at the New York Auto Show, but not everybody can head out to Gotham to see Hyundai's future tuner de force. Hyundai knows it has a good thing on its hands, and has now shared it with the world in web form . The Genesis Coupe's official site includes everything from technical specifications and available equipment to photo galleries and videos. That ought to help you kill the year-or-so wait for the Genesis Coupe's arrival in dealer showrooms. We noticed that Hyundai hasn't gotten around to posting video of the car's smoke-laden intro in New York, so we've added ours after the jump. Thanks for the tip, Mike! Filed under: Sedans/Saloons , Marketing/Advertising , Videos , Hyundai click above image to view Hyundai's Super Bowl commercials The Super Bowl is this Sunday, and that means we get to see the best commercials that money can buy, and perhaps some football, as well. Hyundai was unsure whether it wanted to spend $2.5m a pop for two :30 spots (a voice over by the Dude doesn't come cheap), but in the end the South Korean automaker decided the Genesis sedan was a big-time product, and it deserved a spot on the world's biggest stage . We loaded both of Hyundai's ads after the jump, and we like what we see. Hyundai deliberately shied away from any sort of pizazz or funny gimmicks, instead focusing on the virtues of its 375-hp rear-wheel-drive sedan. The silver Genesis on center stage, which is actually the Korean market model (note the winged "Genesis" hood badge and home-market grille), looks great in motion, and Hyundai didn't waste any time needling the luxury...

Filed under: Sedans/Saloons , Safety , Videos , Hyundai The Hyundai Genesis has just finished shooting its close-up. Shot in what looks like ABC Super Slo Mo, you get a pretty good idea of how you'll fare in a Genesis should you encounter another large object at speed. During the frontal impact test the passenger cabin remained virtually unaffected, and after seeing the side impact test all we can say is thank goodness for side airbags. Who knows, if the Genesis keeps turning in these kinds of performances, it could one day be a star. Follow the jump for the footage. Thanks for the tip, wowfactor! We saw the production F430 Scuderia , the Reventon , the Up! , and many other vehicles that first caught the public eye in Germany two months earlier. LA had its share of world debuts, like the all-new Sequoia , the Nissan Murano , and the Lincoln MKS . We looked over all the world debuts and came up with a video of our top five new introductions of the 2007 LA Auto show. We tried to figure into our decision both industry significance and enthusiast impact. Filed under: Sedans/Saloons , Marketing/Advertising , Videos , Hyundai The Hyundai Sonata has proven itself to be a pretty good vehicle over the past couple years, but tame styling and cheap interior materials have kept the Korean midsize sedan a rental favorite. The Sonata has received a much-needed face lift, with a heavily updated front facia and a much richer-looking interior. To show off the Sonata's considerable freshening, Hyundai tapped the Transformer craze by morphing from the old model to the new one. The special effects in this Asian-market commercial are terrific, as headlights, bumper, grille, dash, and gauge cluster go from blah to bling. The new Sonata interior may even give Lexus a run for its money. Very impressive. The tag-line is "Hyundai Transform" and you can see it in its entirety after the jump.
