  • Second Aston Martin One-77 teaser video rises from the mist

Filed under: Videos , Supercars , Aston Martin Laced with shadowy images of details of the upcoming Aston Martin One-77 , the company has released their second video teaser for the new supercar. Comparing it to the company's legendary limited production DB4GT Zagato, the One-77 is said to be the "Embodiment of Aston Martin." AM tell us it should feel like it's been tailored to the driver and that it has new technologies, exclusive components and handmade body panels. The talking heads call it a piece of art and then go on to describe how this piece of art will behave, with unbelievable performance, programmable control feedback and an exhaust note beyond compare. As we've reported before, only 77 examples will be built, all powered by a hand-built 7.0-liter V12 capable of pushing the carbon fiber beast from 0-60 in 3.5-seconds, with a top speed north of 200 mph. All for just £1 million... and it's already sold out. The full video is after the jump. Aston...
  • VIDEO: Aston Martin continues to tease the One-77

Filed under: Videos , Paris Motor Show , Aston Martin Click above to watch the One-77 teaser video from Aston Martin It's hard to think of a DB-9 or Vanquish as anything other than automotive perfection, so when the Brits in Gaydon say the One-77 is the embodiment of Aston Martin design, color us interested. The ultra-exclusive two-seat supercar seems to have it all: a 700 hp V12, carbon fiber chassis, aluminum body, and the ultimate in Aston design. The One-77 has an exclusive price tag of about £1,050,000 before taxes, too, and even the Paris Motor Show isn't a big enough venue to unveil the full design to the world. Aston Martin is sure playing up the anticipation for the One-77, and even though there is absolutely no shot we'll ever get to drive one, we're taking the bait. Teasers and sneak peaks are all we're getting at this point, and with a full year before it goes on sale, we could be waiting a bit longer. Aston CEO Bez Ulrich and chief designer Mark Reichman...
  • Coke Zero (Zero Seven) commercial features new Bond theme

Filed under: Marketing/Advertising , Videos , Aston Martin Click the image above to view the video Jack White, one half of the Whites in the White Stripes, wrote and produced the new theme song for Quantum of Solace , sung by White and Alicia Keyes. Turns out that White also -- unwittingly and unhappily -- wrote the new theme song for Coke Zero. Coca-Cola has used an instrumental version of "Another Way to Die," as well as a couple of Astons, to promote its diet drink that tastes like a diet drink even though they say it doesn't. In our opinion, the commercial gets a resounding "meh," but the song is thoroughly groovy. Follow the jump to check it out. Thanks for the tip, Marcus! • Takuma Sato gatecrashes <i>Autocar</i>'s party

Filed under: Motorsports , Videos , Supercars , UK Steve Sutcliffe was wrapping up Autoca r's annual 0-100-0 test when a well spoken Japanese gentleman wandered over and started checking out the cars. Now what would you do if you had a car park full of supercars, a private track rented for the day and a Formula 1 driver hove in to view? Give him the keys then grab a video camera? Evidently Steve thinks the same way. Rather than let Taku embarrass Steve's 0-100-0 times "because he's small and lighter" (yes Steve, we're sure that's the only reason he'd be quicker...) Autocar let him off the leash on the full track. Click through to see what Taku, who drives a classic Mini Cooper in the UK and a Honda Beat when in Japan, got up to in his first few minutes in a real supercar -- and why he got red flagged all too early. Taku, who lost his F1 drive when Super Aguri folded earlier this year, has an official test with Scuderia Toro Rosso on September 18th. On the...
  • Rotten Tomatoes rates top 50 movie cars

Filed under: Etc. , Videos , Aston Martin , Dodge , Volkswagen , Ferrari Click the image above for more classic movie car pics It's no secret that we're passionate about cars, and we're pretty sure you feel the same way. We're also big fans of the silver screen, especially when a great car or truck is a big part of the plot. The movie mavens over at Rotten Tomatoes feel the same way, and they've compiled a list of the top 50 movie cars in the history of motion pictures. The list is chock-full of classics from movies like Bullitt and Vanishing Point , but there are also a lot of hidden gems, like Pepe the Little Mule from Romancing the Stone, or the 1973 Ford Falcon XB GT Coupe from Mad Max. One omission that we would have like to have added was Gary's red Ferrari Mondial from Weird Science , but while we could argue forever which vehicle should rank where, we'd say this is a pretty darn good list. We've posted Rotten Tomatoes' top five movie cars after...
  • VIDEO: Mustang gets Aston Martin Vanquish V12

Filed under: Tuners , Coupes , Videos , Aston Martin , Ford Click above to view video after jump For decades, the Ford Mustang has been a symbol affordable performance. While the average GT will still run you less than $30,000, for many that is merely the starting point. Next is the booming Ford Mustang aftermarket business, where you can beef up every square inch of your ponycar. One item not commonly found in a Ford Racing catalog is an Aston Martin Vanquish V12 engine, but after hearing one in the engine bay of a beautiful blue stallion, we think that problem should be corrected. Hit the jump to view video of a very well-modified Mustang that has the face of a GT500, the butt of a Saleen, and the heart of an Aston. If you thought the throaty V8 of a stock GT was music to your ears, the silky smooth symphony coming from the Vanquish V12 is better than Bach . The best part of the video comes about a minute in when the snugly-packed V12 reveals itself for the first time. Is it just us or...
  • SPY VIDEOS: Aston Martin DBS on set for <i>Quantum of Solace</i>

Filed under: Spy Photos , Sports/GTs , Videos , Supercars , Aston Martin Click above for the video of the Aston DBS on set There's something rather ironic about finding a spy video taken of a James Bond movie under production that makes us wonder if footage wasn't captured on an Omega watch or exploding pen. Just the same, as we reported late last year, the eminently desirable Aston Martin DBS will be returning to the silver screen for the second in the new series of Bond movies, and now we have the footage to prove it. Called Quantum of Solace , the movie will also feature the upcoming new Ford Ka . In the first of two videos after the jump, you'll see a DBS with a huge camera rig fixed to it, with another DBS in the background and the wagon version of the new Ford Mondeo which 007 drove in Casino Royale . Oh, and turn up the speakers: you don't want to miss this most original of motion picture soundtracks. [Source: YouTube via Motor Authority ] Continue reading SPY VIDEOS...
  • <i>Top Gear</i> flogs the Aston Martin DBS

Filed under: Sports/GTs , Videos , Supercars , Aston Martin Top Gear has laid hands on the new hotness that is the Aston Martin DBS , and after watching Jeremy Clarkson take us on an eight-minute tour of the car and what it can do, we desperately want to win the lottery. In his review, he literally places it head-to-head against the DB9 (prettier and less costly) and the Vanquish S (faster in a drag race), and for a time, you almost think he's disappointed in James Bond's latest company car. But as the segment concludes, he has an epiphany of sorts, explaining that its the best car he's driven this year and detailing what makes it special. Then the Stig takes the wheel and does his thing. What's the final verdict? Where does it rank against the other exotica that's lapped the Top Gear test course? We won't give it away, other than to say that it keeps some pretty heady company on that ranking board. Follow the jump and check out the video for yourselves. [Source...
