Filed under: Tuners , Sedans/Saloons , Etc. , Mercedes-Benz Say you have a Mercedes-Benz W140 S-Class from two generations ago, but you really want is a Mercedes W221, the current generation car. Well, what else is an individualistic plutocrat to do other than give a willing tuner an unknown (and seemingly substantial) quantity of cash to make a few changes? We can only guess at what amount of time and money was needed to fabricate and swap this new front and rear (which we'd like to think cost a lot less than a used W221 in decent shape), and we can't say we're not startled by the result. But our opinion matters not: the car lives, it's here to stay, and the owner must be happy... and maybe a little odd. Check out pics of the FrankenMerc in the gallery below. Hat tip to reader AMG! Filed under: Tuners , Sedans/Saloons , Opel , Vauxhall , UK , Special/Limited Editions Vauxhall Statesman - Click above for image gallery Wilcox Limousine in England distributes the Vauxhall Statesman in both six-door, three-row limousine and hearse configurations. The company has already begun eying the new Insignia for dignitary and funeral duty, and the result is rendered above. It's not all that bad for a limo conversion, but we had no idea that so many people were requesting to be chauffeured to the airport and The Great Beyond in stretched Vauxhalls. On the plus side, you'll find leather trim, walnut door cappings and a full divider on the inside. "Unbeatable prices" can't hurt, either. Check out the next Statesman limo and hearse in the gallery below. Filed under: Tuners , Sedans/Saloons , Sports/GTs , Euro , Mercedes-Benz , Misc. Auto Shows , AMG The new Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG has yet to be introduced (we're guessing it'll make an appearance in New York next month), but the readers of Germany's Sport Auto magazine are going to have a shot at winning the new über-sedan as part of the sweepstakes that accompanies the buff book's annual reader's choice awards. In honor of the occasion, Mercedes has pulled a Lutz and given a quick upskirt peek at the front end. What's it look like? Well, as you can see, it's pretty much what you'd expect from an AMG ride: updated fascia, aero kit, big split-spoke wheels that show off bigger, upgraded brakes, etc. The normally-aspirated 6.2 (+ .1 for old-times' sake) liter V8 belts out 525 horsepower. Bring money. You know you're gonna need it. We'll have more for you on the new AMG E-Class as soon as more deets become available. [Source: Sport Auto via MotorWard...

Filed under: Aftermarket , Tuners , Euro , Hatchbacks , Misc. Auto Shows , Alfa Romeo Alfa Romeo MiTo Veloce - Click above for a gallery At next month's AutoRAI tuning show (April 1st through 11th), Alfa Romeo will trot out yet another racy MiTo concept to show off the hatch's tuning potential. The Alfa Romeo MiTo Veloce is packing the stock turbocharged 1.4-liter, but output has been increased to around 180 hp through some yet-to-be disclosed tweaks and the 0-62 mph time has dropped to 7.5 seconds. Koni shocks have been fitted at all four corners along with a custom set of wheels, and the exterior gets tarted up with a new carbon fiber front diffuser and graphics package. It's not quite as extreme as the MiTo GTA we saw in Geneva , but its further proof that the lil' hatch has plenty of potential if it ever makes it to U.S. shores. Filed under: Aftermarket , Tuners , Hatchbacks , Volkswagen Exclusive Tuning Worldwide Mark V VW GTI "W12 650" - Click above for a gallery At the 2007 Wörthersee show in Austria, the VAG crew brought out two concepts that had VW and Audi fanboys frothing at the mouth. The first was the Audi TT Clubsport Quattro concept and the other was the VW Golf GTI W12 650 concept . The TT roadster made the transition from concept to limited production model (between 50 and 100 are being made for the Middle East market), while the W12-powered GTI remained an engineering show-piece. Exclusive Tuning Worldwide decided that the show crowd shouldn't be left out of the fun and developed a full body kit for the Mark V GTI that apes the W12's insane exterior. The kit consists of new side skirts, widened front and rear fenders, a reworked hatch and bumper, along with an oddly proportioned front bumper and "W12 650" badging, all used to create a close facsimile of the show car...

Filed under: Aftermarket , Tuners , Sports/GTs , Ford , ROUSH 2010 Roush 427R Mustang - Click above for image gallery If you're the type of person who loves every new Ford Mustang variation that hits the market, then this is what you've finally been waiting for. If you're the type who can't stand it, well, deal with it. Today, Roush is the first to dip its toe into into what will doubtlessly be a very crowded pool of tuner Mustangs with the introduction of its 2010 427R Mustang at its Livonia, MI assembly plant. Like the standard 2010 Mustang, don't expect drastic changes underneath - the meat-and-potatoes of Roush Mustangs over the past few years are all there but now with a fresh new face. Under the hood, the Blue Oval's V8 has been supercharged to produce 435 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque, and it now features a more efficient intake system and improved cooling. The appearance package is relatively subtle (if you can call side stripes "subtle") and...

Filed under: Aftermarket , Tuners , Japan This passed September, Trust Co. LTD - the parent company of GReddy Performance Products in the U.S. - declared the Japanese equivalent of Chapter 11 . According to a release from the aftermarket parts supplier, Trust has successfully completed the reorganization process (known in Japan as Minji-Saisei-Hou) and is hoping to be completely back on its feet within the next few months. During the reorganization , both Trust and GReddy have maintained its workforce here and abroad, developed new components, continued to produce parts and serviced its clients around the world. While we're happy to hear about GReddy's future involvement in the aftermarket, this won't be the first or last filing from a performance part supplier as the auto-apocalypse continues.
