Filed under: Aftermarket , SEMA , Tuners , Sedans/Saloons , Hyundai Click above for a high-res gallery of the Genesis Sedans from SEMA While the trio of tuned Genesis coupes have garnered their fair share of attention, these three Genesis sedans had a few tricks up their sleeves, beginning with the RKSport model above that benefits from a Hyundai-developed screw-type supercharger mated to the 4.6-liter Tau V8. With 11 pounds of boost huffed into the bent eight, the RKSport sedan is putting out an estimated 460 horsepower, but with a new cylinder deactivation system, fuel mileage is equivalent to that of the V6-equipped Genesis. Hyundai made it clear that it hasn't made an official decision to offer the supercharger, but expect the cylinder deactivation system to be available in the future. In addition to the engine mods, the RKSport model receives a custom body kit, composite hood, rear roof spoiler and trunk spoiler, along with Enkei LS-5 wheels, Baer brakes, a K&N air intake,...

Filed under: Aftermarket , SEMA , Tuners , Coupes , Hyundai Click above for a high-res gallery of the Hyundai Genesis Coupe In addition to the race-ready RMR Genesis Coupe , HKS and Street Concepts brought out their own rear-wheel-drive two-doors to the party. The Street Concepts coupe builds off the 3.8-liter V6 model, coating the exterior in a "Stealth Fighter-inspired" paint scheme and matching it to a custom grille, tinted head and tail lights and an APR wing. 19-inch Volk hoops wrapped in Pirelli rubber fill the wheel wells and frame uprated Brembo brakes. The only substantive engine mods are a K&N cold air intake and Magnaflow cat back exhaust. Inside, it's more about show than go, with a pair of Recaro Sportster Topline seats, black suede accents and an Infinity audio system. HKS received a turbocharged 2.0-liter model to build its masterpiece, and with a GT2835R turbo upgrade, HKS stainless tubular manifold, intercooler, sequential blow-off valve, carbon fiber...

Filed under: Aftermarket , SEMA , Tuners , Coupes , Hyundai Click above for a high-res gallery of the RMR Hyundai Genesis coupe Rhys Millen and his team of tuners at RMR are burning the midnight oil preparing one of the three Genesis coupes for SEMA, and if there's a sure-fire way of getting our attention, it's with a flat-mount intercooler. In addition to the new breathing mods fitted to the turbocharged, 2.0-liter, RMR has swapped out the front and rear fenders, doors and roof with carbon fiber pieces, along with fitting a massive rear wing, customized air ducting and an eight-point roll cage. Race gas will be delivered courtesy of a custom fuel cell with dual fuel inlets mounted out back and a Sparco fire suppression system appears to be partially installed. Judging by the ride height, the coupe is already sitting on the KW coilovers, but the Enkei wheels and HKS sequential gearbox haven't been fitted. Looking through the photos, it would appear that the RMR Genesis is still...

Filed under: Concept Cars , Tuners , Sedans/Saloons , Hyundai Click above for a gallery of the Hyundai-RKSport Genesis concept sedan One of our faithful readers was hanging out a gas station not far from our Detroit offices when he spotted what was clearly a new Hyundai Genesis sedan getting a fill up. Now seeing Genesis sedans and other Hyundais in various states of camouflage is not out of the ordinary in these parts over since the Hyundai-Kia America Technical Center Inc. (HATCI) is in the area. This particular Genesis is something a little different though. Notice those indentations in the hood and missing bits of trim? A little digging revealed that this is in fact the car that is being developed in cooperation with RKSport for the SEMA Show in Las Vegas this November. RKSport is working on body and suspension modifications for the car, while the engineers at HATCI are working on engine mods. We don't know which engine will be under the hood, although the words "powertrain...

Filed under: Aftermarket , SEMA , Tuners , Sedans/Saloons , Hyundai , Special/Limited Editions Click above to enlarge There are six modded Genesis' planned for SEMA: three coupes, three sedans. The coupes have been worked over by Street Concepts , HKS , and Rhys Millen . A rendering of the first tricked-out Genesis sedan from RKSport has rumbled onto the page, and it looks less like competition for the 5 Series than it does a challenger to the Death Star. The Platinum Silver sedan will wear carbon fiber accessories and a couple of spoilers as it hunkers on its oversized TSW wheels. RKSport's take on this car is to raise the performance stakes, and it's going to have Hyundai's help doing it. The whipped cream on the sunday will be a K&N air intake, Magnaflow exhaust, Eibach springs, Baer brakes, and a body kit. The sunday itself consists of performance upgrades that Hyundai is giving to the car's Tau V8 engine. The Korean automaker is hush-hush on those changes, but...

Filed under: Aftermarket , SEMA , Tuners , Coupes , Hyundai Click above for a high-res gallery of the Street Concepts Hyundai Genesis Coupe Hyundai's trifecta of SEMA-bound Genesis Coupes is complete, and the latest tuned, rear-wheel-drive two-door comes courtesy of Street Concepts . Unlike the turbo'd models from RMR and HKS , the Street Concepts Coupe is packing the 3.8-liter V6 fitted with a custom cold-air intake and a Magnaflow exhaust. According to Street Concepts' owner, Shawn Williams, their aim is to "maximize the driving capabilities of the Genesis Coupe while striving for a level of practicality..." To that end, the only performance mods - outside of aiding the V6's breathing - include a modified suspension, Brembo brakes and 19-inch Volk wheels shod in performance rubber. The exterior benefits from a black camo and "stealth fighter-inspired paint design," along with tinted head and taillights, APR rear wing and custom grille. Inside, carbon...

Filed under: Aftermarket , SEMA , Tuners , Coupes , Hyundai Click above to enlarge Hyundai made a huge splash at the New York Auto Show this year with its Genesis Coupe, and it's looking for a repeat performance next month at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The Koreans are working with several aftermarket tuners to create special coupes for the tuner show and they just passed along a photo of one of them. This example was created by HKS USA and includes the usual array of body work mods along with plenty of mechanical upgrades. Hyundai hasn't provided details on the engine re-work yet other than noting it's got an HKS GT Turbo package, so presumably this car will use the 2.0L turbo four-cylinder as its starting point. Since the guts of the engine are being beefed up, we can safely assume this thing will be running considerably higher boost than a stock Genesis. Hopefully the HKS Hipermax III fully-adjustable suspension will help make all this power usable on the street as well as...

Filed under: Tuners , Sedans/Saloons , Hyundai Click above for more high-res pics of the Genesis DUB-ified Who says you need to wait for Hyundai's Genesis Coupe to get your tuning freak on? Not the rims and system folks over at DUB, who took two Genesis (Geneses?) and kitted one out like, well, KITT, and the other kind of like a Stormtrooper from Star Wars . For an interior we can't exactly describe as attractive, the white one's not that bad -- certainly not as bad as it could have been. Still, following Wesley Snipes' advice from Passenger 57 , we're going to bet on black. Check out the gallery of hi-res images below. Thanks for the tip, Hyundaifan! Filed under: Aftermarket , Tuners , Coupes , Hyundai Even before the Hyundai Genesis coupe made its big reveal in New York , its aftermarket potential was apparent. While the 3.6-liter V6-equipped model will undoubtedly find an audience with the hairdresser set, the 223 hp, turbocharged 2.0-liter model - directly related to the inline four found in the Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart and Evolution X - is where it's at. Hyundai realizes if it's to be taken seriously as a true performance player, the Genesis coupe has to be embraced by the aftermarket. So it invited 20 tuners to its North American headquarters in Fountain Valley, California to take a look under the hood. Filed under: Aftermarket , Tuners , Coupes , Hyundai The buzz surrounding the 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe doesn't seem to be waning. We gave you video B-roll , a paper cut-out , and New York Auto Show coverage . Now, we are bringing you unofficial "photochopped" coverage as enthusiasts take the press images and have some fun customizing them. Take a look at the four nicely done images in the gallery (flat black with light window tint really looks stealth!), and see if you can come up with your own version to add to the mix (we'll upload the stand-outs to our gallery). Realizing the 2.0-liter turbocharged four is begging for mods, what else are you planning to do to your Genesis? Engine tuning, suspension, electronics? We're betting the aftermarket is gearing up already for this all-new rear-wheel-drive coupe. Thanks for the tip, Dave! Filed under: Tuners , Coupes , Sports/GTs , Hyundai , Celebrities Click above for full high-res gallery of the 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe According to Inside Line , movie-goers should expect to see more tire-burning action from Hyundai's new Genesis Coupe than what's already been shown. It seems that the Korean car company has already sent Universal a bright red Genesis Coupe SE powered by the turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This news lends some credence to our opinion that the turbo mill will likely be the tuner's choice, though the big six cylinder is likely to be plenty for most drivers who don't want to modify their car. While we're not waiting on the edge of our seats for the fourth installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise, we think that it'll be pretty cool to see the Genesis Coupe alongside such performance-car stalwarts as the new Nissan GT-R and Subaru STI .
