Filed under: Aftermarket , SEMA , Tuners , Coupes , Sports/GTs , Bentley Click above for high-res gallery of the Tetsu GTR Bentley Continental GT When we heard that the Tetsu GTR would be here at SEMA , we knew we'd have to find it and shoot it. Since we didn't have a gun on us, we just show it with our cameras instead. The Tetsu GTR is actually a perfect SEMA car. Rather than showing what people should do with their tunable treasures, it shows you what you could do (but shouldn't). Starting out with a perfectly capable and tasteful Bentley Continental GT, the ASI crew went berzerk. It features a custom carbon fiber wide-body kit that makes the Continental GT look like a DTM art car, and that two-tone matte paint scheme with leaf graphics on the hood is definitely attention-getting. There's even a custom graphic on the 22-inch black wheels that matches the theme. Fortunately, only 29 Tetsu GTRs will be produced. Well, at least those owners can take solace in knowing their...

Therefore, it might make some sense for the German-owned British luxury marque to consider one of the VW Group's big, powerful turbodiesels for one of its upcoming models. Not so fast, says Bentley. It has specifically polled its customer base -- made up mostly of Americans and Asians -- to determine if there's any interest in an oil-burning Bentley. Apparently, there isn't. Instead, the luxo-barge company will focus on biofuels in an effort to lower the fuel consumption and emissions of a numbers of its models. As a matter of fact, the first flex-fuel engine from the Flying B is expected to debut in 2009 and Franz-Josef Paefgen, Bentley's Chief Executive, says that all of its models will be capable of running on biofuels by 2012 as part of its plan to go British Racing green. Filed under: Sports/GTs , Bentley , Misc. Auto Shows Click above for a high-res gallery. Big, blocky, heavy, low - whatever. The one and only phrase you need to remember is "hellaciously fast." Bentley's Continental Flying Spur Speed, officially announced in June , is pretty much what it'd be like to strap an EMD powertrain from a freight locomotive into a car, without all the noise and industrial fumes. Set off by subtle cues, the Flying Spur Speed turns the burner up on the already hot Flying Spur, boosting horsepower out of the twelve cylinder powerplant to an even 600 hp from 552 hp. It's enough to hurtle this elegant block of English-cum-Germanic automobile to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, and filthy automotive types will be able to crawl all over this fine automobile at the British International Motor Show . In a mere 15 days, the special brightwork, rifled exhaust tips, and smooth as glass paint will be littered with fingerprints once the show opens to the public July...

Filed under: Sports/GTs , Japan , Bentley , Chevrolet , GM , Special/Limited Editions Click above image for a gallery of the Corvette S-Limited In celebration of GM's 100th Anniversary, GM Asia-Pacific has unveiled the Corvette S-Limited, a 30-car special for the Japanese market. priced at ¥7,980,000. The allotment is split evenly by color -- 15 in Arctic White and 15 in Black. All the cars get the full leather-wrapped interior package; a rear spoiler, mesh grillework , and screened inserts for the side coves and the plate between the exhaust outlets. 'Vettes in Japan are probably scarce enough that they still draw plenty of attention. Hey, in the land where the best-selling car's engine displaces 660cc's, a thundering, 430-horsepower American pushrod that displaces 6.2 liters is always gonna make people look. Appropriately, the Corvette S-Limited officially goes on sale on the Fourth of July. Gallery: Chevrolet Corvette S-Limited (JP) [Source: GMAP ] Read | Permalink...

Filed under: Sedans/Saloons , Sports/GTs , Bentley , Rendered Speculation The next Bentley Arnage is due in 2010, and thank heavens it won't be a biggie-sized clone of the Continental Flying Spur. That means we don't expect it to look so much like the rendering above, which is 75-percent Flying Spur with a GT tail. A bit long-in-the-tooth by modern replacement standards, the Arnage still sells about 600 - 800 units per year, which is not far behind the much newer Rolls-Royce Phantom. The next Arnage will take advantage of Audi's spaceframe technology, which will ultimately be utilized by every car in the range. With a 150-kg-plus drop in the car's weight, your gas mileage should improve to a number you still won't care about if you can afford a Bentley. Engine choices will remain in the all-gasoline family. Bentley says that there simply isn't demand for a diesel in one of its cars, and it's not going to put one out there to try and stimulate it. It might --...

Filed under: Tuners , Coupes , Sports/GTs , Supercars , Bentley Click above for high-res gallery of the ASI Tetsu GTR Most Bentley Continental GTs leaving the Crewe factory in England are bound for lives of leisure in the climate-controlled garages of the fiscally fortunate. Sure, a few end up in music videos or the movies, but we're certain none ever expect to be bastardized the way this one was. Created by Japanese tuner ASI, the Tetsu GTR takes one Bentley Continental GT and adds a new front and rear apron; exposed carbon fiber hood, trunk and spoiler; a set of oversized wheels and a custom paint job that plasters said carbon fiber hood with... flowers. The flower bed on the hood was reportedly painted by Japanese artist Nakamura Tetsui, but that doesn't make it any more palatable. There seems to be some method to the Tetsu GTR's madness, as the front turn signals appear inspired by the Porsche 911 and the rear has an unmistakable Audi R8 flavor. The car has been upgraded...

Filed under: Hybrids/Alternative , Sedans/Saloons , Sports/GTs , Green , Bentley Click above for high-res gallery of the 2009 Bentley Brooklands British racing green could take on a whole new meaning if Bentley is able to achieve its goal of reducing CO 2 emissions by two-thirds to just 120 grams per kilometer by 2012. Currently, all of its vehicles emit more than 400 g/km, no doubt including the 2009 Bentley Brooklands we drove last week, so the company from Crewe has a long way to go. While we'd expect to see some sort of diesel offering, Bentley remains mum on any real details regarding its future powerplants. We do know, however, that the British manufacturer of ridiculously luxurious transportation is holding out hope for biofuels, which post high well-to-wheel CO 2 measurements. When just the tailpipe emissions are taken into consideration, biofuels offer just a little benefit as compared to dino-juice, but when the entire carbon footprint of the fuel is considered, biofuels like...

Filed under: Aftermarket , Concept Cars , Coupes , Sports/GTs , Supercars , Bentley Click above to view the Continental GTZ in hi-res In partnership with Bentley, Milanese design house Zagato has decided to offer a limited run of the Continental GTZ it showed us this year at the Geneva Motor Show . Nine discerning customers for whom the "standard" Bentley Continental GT Speed is not enough will have the opportunity to upgrade their coupes for a nominal fee of just €550,000. (For reference, consider that the Zagato's custom LED tail-lights cost €50,000 alone.) That's on top of the cost of the donor car, which comes in just shy of $200k. The first vehicle has already been delivered for an all-in grand total of €800,000.. .that's over one and a quarter million dollars. The six-figure conversion overhauls the exterior styling with Zagato's own custom bodywork identical to that seen on the Geneva show car. The interior is likewise treated to a sumptuous...

The performance-oriented Japanese-based company specializes in "automotive fashions" ( we didn't make that up ), and they have just announced a Limited Edition wide-body aero kit for the twin-turbo twelve-cylinder Bentley coupe. The hand-made kit, constructed primarily of a carbon fiber/FRP mix, includes front and rear bumpers, side skirts, fenders and quarter panels. Once installed, your beloved Bentley will have increased its width by four full inches -- perfect to hide those new forged billet aluminum wheels with the deep lips. Of course, you'll be offered a choice of two rear wings, and a new set of exhaust tips to match. Premier4509 seems to have addressed all...

Filed under: Coupes , Sports/GTs , Etc. , Supercars , Bentley , UK The British -- who certainly aren't alone -- have been said to have a thing against folks flaunting their top-of-the-food-chain status with things like yellow Ferraris. Jeremy Clarkson said buying a Ferrari would mean spending a lot of time scraping phlegm off of it. Well, we're not sure if the Scottish hate Bentleys -- we can't imagine so -- but someone there has a severe dislike for Rangers FC goalie Allan McGregor. And they took it out on his silver Bentley Continental GT Speed, pouring acid and writing graffiti on the back of the car. McGregor appears to be a fine goalie, so this is probably not due to his on-pitch performances. He has made headlines for a different kind of performance lately, and this car attack does fit the revenge mold -- but acid ? I mean really. On a Bentley? It's no way for us to start a Monday, that's all we're saying. McGregor probably wasn't so happy about it, either...

Filed under: Hybrids/Alternative , Sports/GTs , Green , Bentley The big news from Bentley in Geneva wasn't really about today -- but stay tuned for 2012. Bentley plans to have its wheel-to-well measure of CO2 emissions down to less than 120g/km, from 400 g/km now. How? By lightening the cars, by engineering better transmissions, and through powerplants able to take advantage of 2nd generation biofuels, meaning cellulosic ethanol from straw and waste products. The best Bentley head Dr. Josef Paefgen would say for specifics was "everything is being considered." So there. Click through the jump to get the full press release and the science, and be thankful Bentley's given you something to look forward to. Just a note, a bigger note and press photos, and now we present the live shots. It's a striking car, no doubt -- from some angles at the front we think it looks like it had a long night out with Salvador Dali and Georges Braque. Check out the hi-res photos for yourself, below. Filed under: Concept Cars , Coupes , Sports/GTs , Geneva Motor Show , Bentley Click above to view high-res gallery of Bentley Continental GTZ This may come as a bit of a surprise to anyone who's been following the agonizing bit-by-bit release of a number of concept cars in advance of the Geneva Motor Show , but one Italian design studio has chosen to forgo the teasing and release all the details of its show car all at once. In fact, we hadn't heard anything about Zagato's coachbuilt Bentley since the initial report from last December, but the famed Milanese carrozzeria has revealed that it will be unveiling the car at the show now only days away. Called the Bentley Continental GTZ, following the familiar nomenclature last seen on the 2006 Ferrari 575 GTZ , Zagato's interpretation on the stately grand tourer manages to be instantly recognizable as both a Bentley and a Zagato design . Based on the effortlessly fast Continental GT Speed , the latest Zagato retains, to the best...

Filed under: Detroit Auto Show , Sports/GTs , Etc. , Videos , Bentley click above to view more images of Bentley's artisans at work We love Bentleys because of their exquisite sheetmetal and meticulously crafted interiors, but few understand the incredible amount of work it takes to make a Bentley a world class GT. We were able to spend a few minutes with a couple of Bentley artisans at the Detroit Auto Show, and they explained how the storied automaker creates some of its impressive interior components. Needless to say, we were amazed with what we saw. It takes over three hours just to create one steering wheel, for instance, and the wood interior finishes come straight from our own forests in the USA. You can watch videos of both a steering wheel and some wood veneer being painstakingly crafted after the jump and view some of their handiwork in the gallery below. Filed under: Garage , Convertibles , Sports/GTs , Bentley Click image for a high-res gallery of the Bentley Continental GTC Gaudy. Overstyled. Ostentatious. Attention-hungry. These are words that can be used to describe any number of high-end, six-figure automobiles with pedigreed names and gobs of power. Often, those credentials are accompanied by trademark styling that ranges from the merely adventurous to the outright extreme. That particular branch of motoring is not ideal for everyone, however. Some prefer elegance to envelope pushing; understatement to "Look at me!" Thankfully, elegance and power are not mutually exclusive. Bentley, you see, has just about perfected the art of merging the two. Tastefully beautiful, the Bentley Continental GTC draws as many stares as cars designed to be attention magnets. With 6.0 liters, 12 cylinders, and 552 twin-turbocharged horses underhood, it's no shrinking violet, either. That's the best part, you see. When asked, the Bentley sizes up all comers...
