Filed under: Aftermarket , Sports/GTs , Supercars , Aston Martin Click above for a high-res gallery of Project Kahn's interior for the Aston Martin Vanquish S If you haven't been living in a cave, shut off from the fantastic world of European supercars for the past decade, then you'll likely know that Aston Martin has been hard at work on a succession of new flagships since the vaunted Vanquish. But Aston Martin is an automaker deeply rooted in its heritage, so even after discontinuing the Vanquish, it came back to give it some upgrades . Now, noted British tuning house Project Kahn has followed suite by revisiting the Vanquish S with a new interior package. Kahn's vision for the Vanquish's interior includes a custom dashboard, center console, seats, door panels, steering wheel and roof lining decked out in the customer's choice of contrasting Nappa and Alcantara leather trim, deliciously perforated and top-stitched. Piano lacquer trim panels and smoked privacy glass...

Filed under: Aftermarket , SEMA , Tuners , Convertibles , Coupes , Sports/GTs , Mercedes-Benz Click above for a high-res gallery of the Carbonite SL If you were this close to purchasing an SLR but recent events concerning a guy named Lehman severely reduced your amount of disposable cash, then allow us to introduce you to the SL Carbonite. For the price of a 2003-2008 Mercedes SL, plus $47,400 for Carbonite's hood, fenders, front and rear fascias, lowered suspension and Mandrus 20-inch wheels, you can have an SL(R) for a song that's a lot less pricey than the Mercedes-McLaren. Carbonite has also said it will only build 20 of these cars per year, which means your money could get you even more exclusivity than the real thing. Of course, what your money can't do is erase the fact that you don't actually have the real thing -- but that hasn't stopped so many others... Check out the high-res gallery of doppelganger shots below. Gallery: SEMA 2008: Carbonite SL(R) SEMA 2008...

Filed under: Aftermarket , Gadgets , SEMA , Time Warp , Sports/GTs , Pontiac , Celebrities , Special/Limited Editions Click above for high-res gallery of K.I.T.T. and the Mio GPS There were a lot of movie and TV-themed vehicles at SEMA this year, but one of our favorite entertainment tie-ins had to be the Mio Knight Rider GPS system. We told you about this way back in June, played with it when the new K.I.T.T. visited the Autoblog Garage , and messed with it some more in Vegas. It sounds exactly like you'd hope it would. "Michael, you're going the wrong way, you ninny," isn't in the regular playlist, but it did have some attitude. Even better than laying hands on the Mio, however, was the fact that K.I.T.T. ( no, not the Mustang) was actually in the Mio booth selling the product. It was almost too much to handle. As we told you in June, the Mio Knight Rider GPS unit uses the voice the one-and-only William Daniels, the original voice of K.I.T.T., and asks cordially...

Filed under: Aftermarket , SEMA , Tuners , Coupes , Sports/GTs , Porsche Click above for high-res gallery of the Mobil1 Porsche 996 Turbo The 996 Porsche Turbo is old news, but that didn't stop Theory Communication and Design and iForged Wheels from whipping up a version that makes us quiver slightly, even though it's green. Artisan stuffed 650 horses under that rear wing with its turbo upgrade package, and the TechArt GT Street wide body rear kit has a beautiful carbon diffuser and ample ports for viewing the intercoolers. The car's speed is held in check by yellow Brembo calipers restrained behind iForged wheels, and your own speed will be held in check by the 5-point harness on the Porsche-logoed Sparco seats. Check out the press release after the jump, and the gallery of high-res photos of the build and show car below. Filed under: Aftermarket , SEMA , Tuners , Coupes , Sports/GTs , Chevrolet Click above for a high-res gallery of the STS C6 Z06 The Squires Turbo Systems twin-turbo C6 Z06 gives the former most-powerful Vette model a boost to 700 horsepower at a very reasonable 7 pounds of boost, which, depending on how sorted the Bilstein-shocked suspension is, could give it a good shot at sticking with a stock ZR-1. The most unique thing about this car is that STS mounts the turbos remotely, at the rear of the car. That placement keeps the engine bay freer and adds a host of technical perks like lower temps under the hood and cooler oil going to the turbo. And according to STS, some customers have even gotten better gas mileage. Strangely, though, for all of that new performance, the brakes look untouched. Check it out in the gallery of high-res photos below. Filed under: Aftermarket , SEMA , Tuners , Coupes , Sports/GTs , Bentley Click above for high-res gallery of the Tetsu GTR Bentley Continental GT When we heard that the Tetsu GTR would be here at SEMA , we knew we'd have to find it and shoot it. Since we didn't have a gun on us, we just show it with our cameras instead. The Tetsu GTR is actually a perfect SEMA car. Rather than showing what people should do with their tunable treasures, it shows you what you could do (but shouldn't). Starting out with a perfectly capable and tasteful Bentley Continental GT, the ASI crew went berzerk. It features a custom carbon fiber wide-body kit that makes the Continental GT look like a DTM art car, and that two-tone matte paint scheme with leaf graphics on the hood is definitely attention-getting. There's even a custom graphic on the 22-inch black wheels that matches the theme. Fortunately, only 29 Tetsu GTRs will be produced. Well, at least those owners can take solace in knowing their...

Filed under: Aftermarket , Concept Cars , SEMA , Time Warp , Coupes , Sports/GTs , Dodge Click above for hi-res gallery of the Challenger Targa We hope you're loving the Dodge Challengers here at SEMA as much as we are. When you build a car that's a throwback to such an iconic vehicle, it's easy to anticipate that tuners will try to recreate every example that made the Challenger such a legend way back when. While some of the cars here are great examples of that spirit, these two official ones give us a more modern take on the theme. As we told you when we previewed them last week, the Challenger Targa was built to campaign in the Targa Newfoundland enduro race. It features a 540-hp HEMI V8 with 490 lb-ft of torque, a Tremec six-speed manual and a modified rear diff. It wears the same acid green paint you can order on the Viper and also features a KW race-ready suspension with massive Stop-Tech six-piston calipers and rotors. And it looks even better in person than official...

Filed under: Aftermarket , Concept Cars , SEMA , Tuners , Coupes , Sports/GTs , Dodge Click above for the Camaro vs Challenger Smackdown Earlier this week we published live shots of four Camaro Concepts that Chevy had brought to the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. As the Official Car of the show this year, the Camaro was expected to be present in full force. What we didn't expect were all the great Dodge Challengers that we've found. We've shared some of our favorites with you already, but the official Challengers from Mopar alone are pretty spectacular. Today we went back and took another look at the Challengers in Mopar Alley and realized something: Black is to Blacktop as LS7 is to SRT10 as GS is to Targa . The Camaro and Challenger concepts at SEMA match up pretty well. Coincidence? We think not. So, building on our recent GM/Chrysler Battle Royale, we decided to find out which muscle car concepts were king at the 2008 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Camaro VS Challenger Smackdown! SEMA...

Filed under: Aftermarket , SEMA , Coupes , Sports/GTs , Dodge Click above for high-res gallery of Challengers SRT10 from SEMA That thing got a Hemi in it? Nope. Doesn't need one. It has a Viper V10. Oh. Ohhhhh . The Challenger SRT10 Concept , as you no doubt know, sports the 8.4L V10 engine from the Viper SRT10. All 600 horsepower and 560 lb-ft of torque in that retro mod muscle car is probably too much power for the Challenger's rear tires, so expect smokey skies to always accompany overambitious throttle inputs. Besides the obviously welcome Viper mill, the Challenger SRT10 concept features a carbon fiber front splitter and rear deck lid, a new rear spoiler, BILSTEIN shocks at all four corners, larger wheels, bigger brakes and quad exhaust tips out back. There's also carbon fiber trim inside the cockpit along with new sports seats and a red engine push-button start just like in the Viper. It all ads up to one seriously awesome piece of retro goodness. Check out the gallery...

Filed under: Aftermarket , SEMA , Tuners , Sports/GTs , Dodge Click above for high-res gallery of the Group 5 G5/R Challenger Another hot Challenger that caught our eye here is this Group Five twin-turbo G5/R. Although it's hard to appreciate fully on its tilted stand, the car looks incredible in the twin-tone silver and black. From what they tell us, the G5/R package is completely custom, designed "for the true race enthusiast." Group Five is the same team who put together the Challenger Speedster and sells a variety of enhancement packages for Challengers including options like custom fascias, grilles, spoilers, Eibach lowering springs, custom Katzkin Interiors, cold air induction kits, Kooks headers with Corsa cat-back tuned exhaust systems, chip upgrades, Team Performance Products twin turbos and other custom engine packages. Team Performance was actually the group who supplied the car and allowed Group Five to finish in time for the show. Check the gallery below to see...

Filed under: Aftermarket , SEMA , Tuners , Coupes , Sports/GTs , Dodge Click above for a high-res gallery of the Hurst HEMI Challenger George Hurst's mission was to make hot rods for gentlemen. The new Hurst, in the body of the new Challenger, has carried on George's mission admirably. This particular blogger isn't wasn't even a Challenger fan, and then we laid eyes on the Hurst Hemi Challenger, and, like the Grinch, our heart grew three sizes. It's available in four levels, from a 5.7-liter HEMI Challenger to a fire-breathing 6.1-liter supercharged HEMI underneath a MOPAR hood. And when you get to those upper reaches, then you can avail yourself of that Hurst paint job and a car that will do those mammoth wheels justice. We were told the Stage 4 puts out 530 hp at the rear wheels. Which means the car will be waiting for you to it justice as well. Check out the gallery of high-res photos below, and see if your heart doesn't grow a bit as well. Gallery: SEMA 2008...

Filed under: Aftermarket , Concept Cars , SEMA , Tuners , Coupes , Sports/GTs , Dodge Click above for high-res gallery of Mr. Norms AAR 'Cuda The Dodge Challenger is offering tuners one of the hottest platforms to work with since the current-era Mustang arrived in 2003. And although this is supposed to be the year of the Camaro, there are tons of cool Challengers here at SEMA. One of our favorites is actually badged as a 'Cuda built by Mr. Norm's Garage . Yes, that Mr. Norm, the legendary owner of Grand Spaulding Dodge that was famous for building some of the fastest Mopars in the country during the muscle car glory days. The car you see here is one of two the company put together for this year's show. This one is made to replicate an AAR 'Cuda. It features a supercharged version of the 6.1L Hemi putting out 900 horsepower (!), forged wheels, Hotchkis suspension upgrades, massive SSBC brakes, and a custom front clip that makes it look more like a Plymouth. Very hot car...

Filed under: Aftermarket , Concept Cars , SEMA , Tuners , Coupes , Sports/GTs , Chevrolet , GM Click the image above for a high-res gallery of 2008 SEMA Camaro concepts You read about them earlier , but GM pulled out every joker it had in the Camaro deck today. One of them was bathed in yellow and filled with a host of GM Accessories options, like contrasting side sills and front spoiler, the hockey stick stripe package, and 21-inch wheels in machined aluminum with black accents. One thing we realized when getting up close and personal is that the inside of the Camaro is as dark as a coffin. It might not be a bad idea to splurge for the interior lighting package if you want to see who's in the car with you. The Dale Jr. Camaro is something old and something new, with a biofuel V8 that's been tweaked for a little more horsepower, and the monster is shifted with a Hurst short-throw. Outside, gray-over-white goes will all sorts of stripes and emblems, whereas inside the car is black...

Filed under: Aftermarket , SEMA , Convertibles , Sports/GTs , Dodge Click above for high-res renderings of the Group Five Limited Challenger Speedster Aftermarket companies have plans to take the Challenger in directions that Dodge isn't willing to go, first and foremost by stripping off its top. Dodge won't be doing the deed itself due to cost and weight considerations, but for those lovers of open-air motoring with deep enough pockets, anything can be done. We've already posted on the first such example that's headed for the upcoming SEMA Show in Vegas, which will come from Coach Builders Ltd. and appears to be a pretty straightforward roof-removal. Now we've caught wind that a second Challenger convertible is headed to Sin City from Group Five Limited . This Challenger 'vert comes sans top and with a cut-down windshield for that classic "speedster" profile. Other body mods clean up the front and rear fascias for a true shaved, custom look. Take a look...

Filed under: Aftermarket , Tuners , Coupes , Sports/GTs , Mercedes-Benz Click the image above for a high-res gallery of the Kicherer CL60 If Drake, the ur-vampire from Blade Trinity , were a car, this is the car he would be. Starting with a CL600, tuning firm Kicherer didn't waste time throwing pieces at the car's already aggressive styling. Instead, Kicherer attacked the CL's jugular: sloppy performance due to the car's portliness. The biturbo V12 gets 53 extra horses to corral 570 in total, torque gets smacked up to 664 lb-ft., the engine gets a new transmission control module to better deal with the extra juice, and out back, the rear axle gets a locking rear differential. The car is lowered an inch, and firmer springs help keep things settled when it's go time. Will all this turn the car into a cheetah? Probably not, but with the carbon goodies added throughout and the 20-inch Kircherer RS-1 wheels, it will look mighty good doing whatever it does. You can see for...
