Today, we get official word on UK pricing for the all-new model. The standard rear-wheel drive Panamera S with a 400-hp V8, good for 0-62 mph sprints in 5.4 seconds (according to the automaker), will start with a base price of £72,266. Meanwhile, pricing for the Panamera 4S will begin at £77,269. That model's all-wheel drive system helps it launch 0-62 mph in just 5.0 seconds. The range-topping Panamara Turbo, with 0-62 mph in 4.2 seconds, lists at £95,298. All models are offered with a choice between a six-speed manual gearbox or the seven-speed Porsche PDK (dual-clutch) transmission. The standard four-passenger, rear-wheel-drive Panamera S, fitted with a 400-horsepower, 4.8-liter V8, will start at a cool $89,800. Bumping up to the all-wheel-drive Panamera 4S with the same powerplant will set you back $93,800. The top-of-the-line AWD Panamera Turbo features a 500 hp, twin-turbo 4.8-liter V8, and a window sticker starting at $132,600. (The prices do not include an estimated shipping charge of $975.) Manufactured in Leipzig, Germany, the sedan is expected to compete with the Mercedes-Benz CLS (base price $71,575) and the upcoming Audi A7 (due in 2010). Unlike the hump-backed exterior, the inside is much easier on the eyes and features what may be the first actual usable rear seats ever in a Porsche car (not counting the Cayenne). The images released today show off a two-tone color scheme with a center console featuring an array of switches very reminiscent of one of Nokia's high end Vertu phones. The steering wheel has thumb switches allowing the driver to manually select the ratio of the 7-speed PDK dual clutch gearbox. A large navigation screen dominates the center of the instrument panel while two more are available to entertain the backseat passengers. Backseat accommodations appear to be just as capable as those up front, if less adjustable. The Panamera goes on sale in Germany on September 12, with a 6-speed manual 4.8L S model starting at €102...
