Filed under: New York Auto Show , Crossovers/CUVs , Mazda Click image above to enlarge In addition to U.S. premieres for its new Mazdaspeed3 and reworked CX-7, Mazda will have a global debut in the form of a "heavily revised" CX-9 at next month's New York Auto Show . For 2010, the three-row crossover will receive a riff on the controversial "smiley face" front graphic that has already been shown for 2010 on the Mazda3 , MX-5 Miata , and CX-7 . Judging by the supplied image, changes include a new front fascia integrating the aforementioned five-point grille, along with different lighting units and exterior mirrors. In addition to the exterior fettling, Mazda is promising new options and safety features, along with improved driving dynamics (already a CX-9 strong suit). We'll likely have to wait until press days to learn further specifics, but for now, check out Mazda's official NY preview press release after the jump . All Smiles: Updated 2010 Mazda CX-9 headed...

Filed under: New York Auto Show , Sedans/Saloons , Wagons/Estates , Rendered Speculation 2010 Subaru Legacy - Rendered - Click above for a gallery Following up on our earlier story about the 2010 Subaru Legacy 's impending rumored debut at the New York Auto Show , a handful of renderings have surfaced from a variety of sources giving us a glimpse of what we might see in the Big Apple. Many of you have voiced some (ahem) minor displeasure with the Legacy concept 's new nose, and although these images aren't official, they won't do much to curb your criticisms. While we're evenly split on how well the new fascia will make the transition from concept to production, here's hoping that the blistered wheel arches and taut rear end make the migration from the drawing board to the dealerships. Filed under: New York Auto Show , Convertibles , Nissan Click above for a high-res gallery of the 2009 Nissan 370Z The 2009 Nissan 370Z has already proven itself as one of the best performance bargains on the market, but for those who crave the wind-in-your-hair experience that only a drop-top can deliver, a convertible variant is right around the corner. Nissan will unveil the 370Z convertible at the New York Auto Show on April 8th, and according to a Nissan designer we spoke to at the 370Z's launch, it's going to look remarkably better than its predecessor. The awkward roof-line and misshapen rear will be dispatched in favor of a more fluid canvas roof, because unlike the 350Z, the 370 was designed from the onset as a convertible. As previously reported, Nissan decided early on that a retractable hard-top was out of the question, primarily due to packaging and weight constraints - not to mention the risk of cannibalizing Infiniti G37 cabrio sales. The 3.7-liter V6 will carry over...

Filed under: New York Auto Show , Sports/GTs , Ford , Rumormill Click above for a gallery of the 2010 Shelby GT500 at NAIAS '09 Before this auto show season is over, we'll probably see another Ford Mustang variant unveiled. That's the juicy takeaway from a Detroit Auto Show conversation we had with Ford's vice-president of Powertrain Engineering, Barb Samardzich . In the course of discussing the 2010 GT500 and the new Mustang in general, this author made the offhand remark that, after sitting in the 2010, perhaps picking up a used '06 GT just over a year ago was a bit premature. In response, Samardzich gave a knowing look and said, "You want to wait a little longer." That was all we were able to get, but given her position, it seemed noteworthy. After all, she'd know. We followed up with Ford spokesman Alan Hall after the show in a bid to extract more information. Alan saw this as a fun opportunity to obfuscate, joking that the Blue Oval is readying a Knight...
